Hoke is quite the versatile musician.  He plays both brass and string instruments, and everything from polkas to Asian music.

My cheeks are as sore as the guy on that umpa lumpa or whatever tuba thing that is, but mine are sore from laughing. This was as funny (especially his solo) as that guy who was playing another instrument I have no idea what it was either but it was quite a while ago and it was the funniest damn thing, you put Hokes head on him too. I got up that morning and saw it and I laughed throughout the day thinking back on it. I'm sure the people at work just thought that this confirms he's nuts seeing me laughing for no apparent reason whatsoever. I only hope this will still be funny after the game. GO Blue!!!

I admire Hoke's playing ability of the tuba.  It seemed like this piece was so far beneath his playing ability that did not even have to make any strained facial expressions, even with the high notes.

Another reason to be blah about this bowl: Just saw over my Facebook that Carl Grapentine recently slipped and fell and sustained a fairly serious leg injury that requires him to stay immobile at home for a few weeks. For only the second time since the 1970 Rose Bowl (Carl missed the 1988 Hall of Fame Bowl for his son's birth), the MMB will be taking the field at a bowl game without Carl.

I went to my local BWW last night for a beer and asked about the lineup for tonight. The waitress said I should arrive early since it's going to be a big night and very busy. Really? I asked.
