One Frame At A Time: Rutgers Comment Count

Ace

Of note:

  1. Jabrill Peppers is going Norfleet-before-a-punt to keep the game entertaining.
  2. On defense.
  3. It is still the second quarter.
  4. Total yards are 311-3.

It only would've been slightly more insulting to Rutgers if Peppers had continued dancing during the play—not that doing so would've affected the outcome.

Jabrill desperately lobbying Harbaugh for a rekick was my favorite moment of the game, really glad that made it in here.

Heck, I felt the same way. Every time Jabrill fields a punt I get an electric jolt of anticipation about what he is going to do next.

I wish they would've changed the rules of the game.

Michigan is not allowed to go on offense.

We can only play defense and return punts.

If we don't score on the punt return, we turn the ball over to their offense at that spot.

If they kick out of bounds or it's a fair catch, it's an automatic rekick.

Bet we win 28-0. 1 defensive TD because of the increased offensive possessions for Rutgers.

That play really brought me back to watching Peppers' high school highlight tapes. It's truly amazing to watch him unleash so many different moves to avoid tacklers. He has great cuts, awesome spin moves, and seeing him duck that last tackler was amazing. I'm not sure how he's able to shed the first guy, immediately spin move the second guy, recover, and then immediately duck under the final tackle attempt. Simply a joy to watch. Could go down as my favorite Michigan player of all time. You can just see the passion he has for the game. Please don't leave us Jabrill.

This week we should be able to choose our top 3 and do it that way.  Jeeze this week is hard.  I'll pick the "might want to block that guy" because when I saw it live, the way he got trucked, I couldn't stop laughing.  Poor Rutgers.

I think I like the Higdon TD1 because rather than juke left or right he decides to just carry the ball and a Rutgers player into the endzone at the same time.

How humiliating is it to have an opponent dicking around like this because you're such a minute threat that he doesn't even feel compelled to really pay attention

Great images.  Hard to find any bad ones in this game.  When MI was up by about 64 (give or take) the Rutgers kick return guy was so sick of returning kicks that he just let once bounce around the two and prayed that it went into the enzone so he didn't have to get hit again.   One of my favorites.

I don't know if the cannon guys were all angry. To me, it looked like the one guy is trying to make sure Jabrill doesn't stand in front of the cannon. Because, that's probably not a great place to be.

My favorite part of the Chesson TD grab is the fighting that kept going 10 feet out of the back of the endzone long after the play has been blown dead.  It looks like Chesson's playing keep away with a small child.

Anyone know why Peppers wanted to switch hats with Chesson?  My guess is that he knew he would be doing a post-game interview and decided the white hat was better post-game interview attire, for whatever reason.

Two for Flinching... When I saw Peppers do that live, I laughed until I couldn't breathe. I can't believe no one has said anything about it in the comments yet, it was the funniest thing all game.

(the punt return is also pretty sexy, not gonna lie)
