One Frame At A Time: Purdue & Minnesota (Non-GRIII Edition)
Previously: Purdue & Minnesota (GRIII Edition)
Of course Spike Albrecht is familiar with the "Big Balls" dance that originated in the (terrible) sequel to a classic baseball movie before being popularized as a basketball celebration by Sam Cassell.
Huevos.
[Hit THE JUMP for the rest of the GIFs, featuring Nik Stauskas making Andrew Dakich do Andrew Dakich things, Jordan Morgan's old man strength, Jon Horford's zen calm, and much more.]
As usual, click the links/stills to open each GIF in a lightbox.
HONORABLE MENTION
Team manager attempts to join post-Purdue celebration, cannot. Caris LeVert steal, layup (and, uh, uncalled travel). GRIII transition block, LeVert outlet, Stauskas bomb. Caris LeVert, one-man fast break. Jordan Morgan and-one. Mitch McGary counts it. Spike Albrecht running scoop. Nik Stauskas explosive jab step. Stauskas corner three, bench grilling.
10. F***
Guy in B1G sweatervest isn't a Michigan fan, apparently.
9. Mister Fantastic Finds J-Mo
That pass isn't physically possible. It just isn't.
(Also, players wearing #23 are required to perform that tongue-wag after plays of such absurdity.)
8. Spike Meets Wall
Rarely do you see the exact moment a player realizes he's never going to hear the end of a certain play in the film room. So close, Spike. So close.
7. The Stauskas/Dakich Connection, A Three-Act Play
Act One: The Head-Bob
Act Two: Crane Style
Act Three: I Have No F'n Clue
We have three more years of Andrew Dakich. Cherish them.
6. OLD MAN STRENGTH
This ball bounced onto Jordan Morgan's front lawn and is therefore his property. Kindly step off, please.
5. Rule #2: Double Tap
Just like Tallahassee taught him.
4. RICHARD PITINO
Spittle-flecked tantrum:
Being summoned back to Planet Carmex:
Big Ten coaches are easily the country's most GIF-friendly.
3. WIN THE GAME, COACH'S ORDERS
Yes, this already got its own post. No, I don't care.
2. Jon Horford, Zen Master
Glenn Robinson III wins the game, Jon Horford ponders the meaning of the Shōdōka,
FRAMES OF THE GAMES: HUEVOS
Call me juvenile, but this was a no-brainer.
VOTE
I didn't know you could read gums.....!?
Man I wish there was a front view to that HUEVOS gif.
not the greatest sequel but gotta appreciate black hammer
Can't have huevos without the proper verb.
Except in Dakich's case, it's not all that he's got. He has so much more to offer.
Are you implying he's not just a shooter?
Replaced Wesley Snipes with Omar Epps! Charlie Sheen gets all clean before becoming a bad boy again! No Amex commercial!
Wow... it was worse than I remembered....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_II
ACT 3: Shooting craps
Looks more like the Michael Jackson sideways finger snapping dance from Beat it I think.
The carmex one was a little disturbing.
I like the Stauskus jab step for this one.
My brain wants to convince my eyes that #9 has to have been a fortuitous block right into JMo's hands rather than a pass...
The Pitino spittle-flecked tantrum is literally the start of the rooftop scene in The Room.
"Oh hi Mark."
masterpiece.
You're in good hands, with Allstate.
spike with the cajones
In the last Honorable Mention gif, note the Canadian flag spontaneously appear in the stands.
Bacari's nonchalant walk over to the handshake line is missing.
"Oh, we won? Cool.... cool cool cool" (Abed voice)
but I really liked the honorable mention Robinson block/Stauskas three. During the game that got two huge crowd cheers. One on each end. Loved it.
I would've titled the spike gif "...sup, Kate?"
That Jon Horford is the Dalai Lama .gif is just brilliant. He must do like 7 hours of yoga a day to be that zen about things literally all the time.
Love the Zombieland reference. Extremely underrated movie.
Randy Quaid and Bob Uecker alone make Major League 2 fantastic.
that makes MGoBlog so good.
