One Frame At A Time: Oregon State Comment Count

Ace

Yes, these posts are now everything I ever hoped they would be when Michigan hired Jim Harbaugh. There's no longer really room for words; I made 42 GIFs for this game. The righteous punt anger only accounts for three of them. Let's get right to it.

[Hit THE JUMP]

As always, click the links/stills to open each GIF in a lightbox.

HONORABLE MENTION

Cookie Monster. Harbaugh and friends disagree with the lack of a PI call. Sione Houma gets first down, has magnificent hair. Heat-seeking Desmond Morgan sackTwo-point conversion. Well-blocked toss, Smith rage. Harbaugh fist pump. Harbaugh readies for takeoff. Never do this again. Hey there, pointing guy. Smith TD one. Smith TD two. Three nose chest um what. Wormley TFL one. Wormley TFL two.

15. INCOMING

This is great team defense. Willie Henry's belly flop onto the pile may not have been entirely necessary, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

14. Another Week, Another Mountain Goating

I love that Michigan's main constraint play consistently features defensive backs getting blocked into oblivion.

13. You're No Shoelace, Because I Just Grabbed Yours

If you're wondering why Michigan is so intent on getting their three best safeties on the field at the same time, this should help answer your question.

12. STOP JUMPING, OPPONENTS

This should also help answer that question.

11. Fumble On A Platter

If Bolden snags any more fumbles like that he may find himself getting the occasional snap at H-back.

10. Truck Stick, De'Veon Smith Edition

Thunk.

9. Truck Stick, Skillet Hands Edition

Thunk.

Replay confirms: thunk.

8. Bump It

#TrueDetectiveSeason3

7. Salute

Run for your third touchdown right in front of the ROTC crew, salute. Well played, De'Veon Smith.

6. Ref Fall Down Go Boom

Way to show appreciation for that gift roughing the punter, Oregon State.

5. Harbaugh's Huddle

I think he was hype, you guys.

4. If I Curl Into A Ball Maybe It Won't Kill Me

Nice of Wormley to leave the left tackle with a perfect view of the sack he allowed.

3. Hybrid Death Machine

Jabrill Peppers with a 20-yard running start can do this:

So, yeah, maybe next time throw that ball on a line. Or anywhere else. Any thoughts, Jabrill?

No, I didn't think that pass was a good idea, either.

2. Loooooooooooooongsnap

One foot to the left and we're all cursing the placement of ESPN's wire cam. Instead, it's perfection. Full replay angle:

It's so nice to have the hilarious special teams stuff happen to the other guys now.

FRAMES OF THE GAME: HARBAUGH RESPECTFULLY DISAGREES

Part One: Hat-Jarring Rage And Light Aerobics

Part Two: The Full Demonstration

Part Three: The Playsheet Toss

I love this man.

This is why I love the guy: Harbaugh respectfully disagrees (all three) and Harbaugh huddle. I mean, he has energy, excitement and spontaneity. All things missing from the Hoke era. I have been waiting an eternity for a sideline explosion. Not a Woody thing, a Bo thing. Throw that damn clipboard, kick those damn yard markers. If that doesn't get the Wolverines riled up, nothing will. Phew. Relief.

The belly flop is pretty damn funny. Got like 10 guys swarming the RB, all still on their feet, then suddenly every one of them gets bushwhacked by the catapulting, 315 lb behemoth that is Willie Henry.

There were some really good ones, the huddle, the demonstration, the hits. I really think "Bump It" is a great one because I can see that one being used a lot. I also thought it was just really cool seeing him and Drevno doing that. I don't know why.

The freakout gifs are funny, but the Harbaugh huddle one is the best.  That's just an awesome scene.  Watching him challenge the guys and them showing him they're ready - I get goose bumps.

The OFAAT doesn't show it because it's cut short, but when Harbaugh tosses his playsheets, there's a young looking guy in a white hat who runs into the frame and immediately picks the sheets up off the ground.

Same guy was Johnny on the Spot and did it in Week 1.  Who is this dude?  Is his sole responsibility to pick up Harbaugh's dropped/thrown playsheets?

(Sorry to be late to the party, Ace)

Peppers chasing down the RB on OSU's first TD drive. Right  near the beginning of the game with 14:28 on the clock. Not a good Michigan play, and obviously not a fun part of the game. But man does this kid have wheels!

Posing a question to the grammar nazis of the board...

I've noticed the word "hype" being used by Ace, et al. in a way that just doesn't sound right to me:  "I think he was hype you guys." Normally I would chalk this up as an innocent typo, but this isn't the first time I've seen it amongst the authors of the blog.

In these cases it seems like "hyped" should be used instead, as in hyped-up.  That said, maybe there is some other accepted use of the word I'm not aware of.

The only use of "hype" in adjective form I'm used to seeing is slang for awesome or excellent (e.g. that one part of the movie was really hype, yo)...but this definition doesn't work here.

My favorite was the original play for Hybrid Death Machine because it shows the pressure that Chris Wormley put on the OSU QB to force him to make the poor throw in the first place. Last year Peppers never would have had the chance to make that hit because the line didn't provide that kind of pressure. I think that Chris Wormley is my favorite player right now. He is slightly ahead of Peppers and Jake Butt.

it echoed the very feeling I was writing about this morning. I like the three part Respectul Disagreement series. When that went down, I was positively giddy. After so many years of "meh!", someone finally gives a (real hot) damn down on the sidelines! It got the players going, too. It was beautiful. I could watch it all over and over again!
