One Frame At A Time: Northwestern Comment Count

Ace

I don't say this too often, but props, BTN. This time-lapse shot already looked great; then the director slowed it down for Jehu Chesson's kickoff return touchdown and the ensuing reaction. I could watch this all day.

Then again, Jim Harbaugh and his poor hat lurk after the jump, so...

[JUMP, obviously.]

10. Touch The Banner

Double-pump windmill for Jabrill Peppers, obviously.

9. Take A Seat, Both Of You

Ryan Glasgow: stronk.

8. MGoTubes Love Fullback Dives

Incidentally, I had the same look on my face.

7. The Rollercoaster

100% on board with this becoming a new tradition. With a full student section it looks great.

6. AJ Breaks It Down

AJ Williams, already having a career day before kickoff.

5. One-Way Ticket On The De'Veon Express

The broadcast view reveals Smith dragged Nick VanHoose a good ten yards before dispatching him on the turf.

Meanwhile, Chesson flatted Godwin Igwebuike for good measure.

4. Game Over

What a gorgeous setup. Also, watch Jabrill Peppers get a key block and then nearly catch Chesson at the goal line. Michigan's returners are rather athletic. Replay view:

Jake Rudock's reaction.

3. Big House Time-Lapse

Perhaps my favorite part: seeing the entire Michigan sideline head for the end zone as Chesson streaks down the sideline.

2. Jourdan Lewis Wizard Pick

I'm still not entirely sure how he did this. This Northwestern coach is equally befuddled:

He'll always have that fleeting second of joy.

FRAMES OF THE GAME: A HOLD, A HARBAUGH, A HAT

The officials just missed an obvious holding call on third-and-forever; it didn't matter at all because Northwestern had to throw the ball away anyway. Michigan led 31-0 and would get the ball back on a punt.

None of this context mattered to Jim Harbaugh, who was curious to know what, exactly, this official was watching.

BTN came through with the clutch slow-mo replay:

I love this man.

I voted the time lapse, but I love the NW coach who witnessed the Lewis pick- that millisecond of celebration interrupted by "WTH?"

Start   working at home with Google! It's by-far the best job I've had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $77 per hour. I work through this link, go to tech tab for work detail

So one of my key criteria for this is "reusability." Can I use this in the game thread to describe a feeling or emotion during a different game? There might be some awesome plays, but this is also important to me. I really like the Rollercoaster. I would also say that the Harbaugh gif is reusable. The time-lapse is fantastic. I did go with the Rollercoaster though.

by Fitzgerald on the Lewis interception. Jabrill blocks a guy right in front of Fitz and he epic double points looking for a block in the back call I think

Deveon Smith, man. This is the second or third time where he just magically appears on the other side of the LOS and starts bowling people over. Mad props to anybody who has ever played linebacker. I can't pick him up even on replay knowing approximately where he'll be. Imagine in real time, having only a vague idea that this play is most likely a run. Football: a difficult sport to play at a high level.

The genius of that gif is Harbaugh is actually saying "what are you, crazy?!" as he knocks the hat off of his own head in a fit of rage.  That's a T-shirt waiting to be pressed.

For me, the Chesson kick off TD is one of, if not the best moments from the big house in the past 7 years.

Besides the last second win in UTL1, it's easily the loudest, most excited I've seen that stadium in a LONG time. I love this team.

Also have to give some props to Joe Bolden, I believe, for resisting the urge to throw an illegal block on the punter. You see a guy running at that angle and I'm sure you want to lay him out, but it probably would've been a flag.

All around great team effort on the kickoff return.
