so much for that
One Frame At A Time: Northwestern
Well, last night certainly produced the most gif-able game of the season. Trey Burke crossovers alone were enough for a post—this one, in particular, just ain't right:

SOBOCOP DOWN.

SOBOCOP DOWN. AGAIN.
ONE MORE TIME.
"Guys, I figured out how to stop him! It only takes four of us! Thou shalt not pa-- oh."
ESPN2 appeared to have a dedicated Tim Hardaway Sr.—and Grandpa Hardaway!—cam last night, which led to this wonderful double-box replay:
The elders approve:
At this point, Nik Stauskas involuntarily twitching is going to cause at least one defender to jump. A half-sell pump fake is good for two, and yes, they do collide comically:
Eso Akunne appeared surprisingly umimpressed by Glenn Robinson III's circus layup:
Finally, the definitive Mitch McGary == Big Puppy gif:
If you have requests for future gifs (and I just got video of the Outback Bowl, so Norfleet dancing gif is one the way), the best way to make a suggestion is through Twitter.
Michigan fans outnumbered NW fans by at least a 3-1 margin at the game. I'm glad we got picked up clearly on the audio feed for the game.

Gotta love McGary!
Should we point instead of fist pump during the Victors?
So much love for his team and leaves it all on the court every play. Sure, he still may be a bit unpolished, but when everything really does come together, he's going to be incredibly, incredibly fun to watch play (unless you're playing against him/rooting for the team playing against him, in which I can see him becoming everyone's least favorite player).
Your father wouldn't want to hear this, Sonny. This is business, not personal.
with that behind the back dribble is a major ankle-breaker. Those gifs plus the McGary gif are my favorite of the bunch. On the Stauskas one where the two guys jump, its hard to tell from the camera angle but they appeared in person to jump a lot higher than that and really bite on his movement. I have a feeling we'll be seeing a lot of that this season with defenders and Stauskas.

Burke. I would assume 1) they have met at some point and 2) if I was Burke, the first thing I would ask the guy is for tips on his handle, how he perfected it, techique to practice, etc. I don't remember Burke being so devastating with it last year.
I love THJ's grandfather. He's chuckling and happy with what he's seeing, but not really all that surprised. I guess when your son is a former NBA great, you've seen these type of things a few times.
I started thinking Don Hardaway (THJ's grandfather) was probably a good athlete in his day and did a little googling. Turns out Grandpa Hardaway was a good player in Chicago back in the day and Tim Hardaway grew up in Chicago and was a star at Chicago Carver before heading to UTEP for college
Interesting little read here and glad to see proud father and grandfather enjoying Tim's exploits at Welsh-Ryan

Hardaway came up on Chicago's playgrounds, where his father, Donald, had excelled before him. Read more: http://www.answers.com/topic/tim-hardaway#ixzz2H2bf2T9T
Hardaway's crossover late in the game. He missed the finish, but the crossover was sweet
"Over? Did you say, over? Nothing is over until we decide it is!"
Here you go:

Bonus: Hardaway pointing the "three goggles" at his own head, which was requested on Twitter.
Great job Ace. Big puppy is tremendous. I can't wait for "The Norfleet" dancing gif.
Ace...gif request for the Hardaway lost shoe play. If possible. You guys have brought a lot of great new series into the site between the draft snark and this. Really enjoying them.
Avatar is a reference to this. Go Blue!
Northwestern football and then Northwestern basketball have provided us with top gifs this year.
Go Blue! Always!
I'm sorry but "The Elders Approve" is going to become a fixture around here. Anytime something really good happens I'm betting it shows up in a thread.
That's fantastic.
'Murica & Footbaw: That's what Michigan Does
Trey Burke moves and looks like something you'd see in an And 1 video! O Baby!
Hello Charles Woodson, now give me the ball on offense. - Brent Musburger
I'd like to request an umpire pop up at the end of big puppy McGary. Safe or out? Your call.
Not only an Burke change momentum when he runs the floor, but he can also change the momentum of a game. It is fascinating to me how he can establish the tone of the game from the start, making sure Michigan is comfortable which seems to relax the others. Then, like the start of the second half, the opposition has momentum after going on a run. He makes an unbelievable move, sets up a three pointer or dunk that fires up his teammates and deflates the other team.
Is that a measureable stat, momentum changing plays?
Ann Arbor by birth. Wolverine by choice.

... On those Trey Burke ankle-breakers... You could hear a collective gasp as he drove past defenders...
