One Frame At A Time: Maryland
Alright, that hurt a bit, but I'm fine.
Wait, is that the ref?
I'm literally dead, ref.

10. HarBros
"So, how would you feel about taking the Indy job?"
9. Chesson Jets
Note Darboh escorting Will Likely to the sideline as Chesson turns the corner. Mountain goat receivers: still a thing.
8. BUTTSCREEN
RPS +3 (blockers in acres of space)
7. Dive Like Desmond
What, were you expecting a different Desmond?
6. Don't. Throw. At. Jourdan. Lewis.
Especially not when you're throwing late across the middle.
5. Henry Power Toss
"Hey, Daxx, why don't you take a shot at quarterback."
"Sure, Coach."
[five minutes later]
"Uh, Coach? I'd like to transfer to a conference without any Willie Henrys."
(Replay angle.)
4. High Fi-- Uh, Bump It
@AceAnbender This gif sums up the game. The first half was awkward and lacked execution, but the end result still felt right.

Couldn't put it better.
3. Are You Serious?
Not fearing the turtle, if I'm being honest.
2. "Good shit, Jedd"
Following the Patriots-inspired, impossible-to-stop two-point conversion. Yes, it appears Jedd Fisch made a good playcall.
FRAMES OF THE GAME: PLAY DEAD
The official looking down like "who, exactly, are you trying to fool?" at the end only adds to the greatness of this GIF.

So is this some kind of new way of pass blocking where the entire line just lays down on the field?

It looks like to me that most of the offensive line was trying to cut block their assignments.

Yup. Garman was trying to throw a quick slant to the left and the cut blocks, if successful, would've chopped down the pass rush and made it easier to throw that pass on a zipline as well as eliminate pursuit from the back side.
Too bad that pass had one of three possible outcomes: broken up by the corner, pick-sixed by Morgan, or pick-sixed by Hurst. The defense had that whole play absolutely massacred from top to bottom.

got props in the film room for their throws and now everyone's into it.

The QB goes 720 degrees. Just an awesome throwdown. Just like the movie "Blindside" where the ref gives a penalty for "excessive blocking", one of these days we are going to get a penalty for "excessive sacking." LOL. Fun times.

I know I'm not the only person who saw the flying dick punch on the right side of the "don't throw at Jourdan Lewis" gif.

Good catch, I didn't see it.

Checking down from the high-five to the forearm bump was definitely the right read. Glad to see they practice what they preach

What's the rule on illegally "screening" DBs on a pass play? It looks like the success of our two-point conversation was predicated on Butt pretty much elminating the coverman.

And I'm loving it.

If he cuts to the left on the last man I think he takes it to the house - so close!

I loved the win against Maryland ..... did anyone else take notice that the D got exposed severely on the quick slants in the first half? They threw that at will picking up 5 and 10 yards at a time.
I am hoping the D coordinator saw that (on film or in game) as well and will address. It's the one major issue I have seen so far in all their games.
Also, for the sake of a simple game plan (I am guessing against Maryland), I hope they don't always run the ball to whichever side or way the FB is going. It's just way too obvious and need to throw in some more misdirection.
Great win and good clips here, thanks for the laughs!
Going to be a close one this weekend I think .... It's a tight game until the 4th quarter.

More importantly, how many points did that lead to? Maryland thew something at Michigan which was new and they adjusted. The probably did so because they had seen tape and practiced, but they did adjust and Maryland got nothing else from it.
October 7th, 2015 at 2:19 AM ^
I don't know. It seemed they just stopped throwing it for whatever reason. I'd have to watch the game over again but it seemed every time they ran a quick slant it was open. Especiialy coming R to L on the formation. Obvious point taken though .... no points from it.

It reminded me of myself the last eight years. Wondering where did we go wrong. If I had a nickle for every time I asked, Are You Serious? I could lease a jet to get to all the away games.

being that DB on the Butt screen pass. Look up and you see three lineman leading a TE of all players. I can hear him thinking out loud. Man, someone told me this safety position is primarily safe and I get to do the hitting. Not this play.

Separate question: how do you guys choose your frame of the week? Is it just what's the awesomest? Does anyone else consdier re-usability (i.e. the ability to repost the gif in a different situation)? Any other criteria?
October 7th, 2015 at 9:03 AM ^
This makes me wonder if one of those two guys is a germophobe. Or if one's been sick and the other knows and doesn't want it.
Because that's something I'd totally do.
Or maybe it was truly just an awkward, one guy high fives and other elbow bumps thing.

I watched the 2pt conversion a few times to see what Harbaugh said.. I think he says "JAKE" not JEDD... but now that i've seen that written, I can't see anything but that...

Willie wins for somehow managing to sneak cannibalism onto our TV screens, as he eats an unexpecting quarterback. BTN will be hearing about the graphic nature of that content. RIP Daxx Garman.

I want to know what Baxter said to Harbaugh during the Incredulous Harbaugh .gif. Whatever it was seemed to make Baxter laugh

Needs to be changed to Harbaugh Izzoface.
