HONORABLE MENTION
BEAR.
Donnal and-one.
Robinson from Saline.
Robinson transition three.
10. Stepback Dagger
I can't explain how Derrick Walton finds these easier than shots in the paint, but at the moment I'm fine with that.
9. Tip At The Horn
The leadup to this also finds a spot in this post. As does the aftermath.
8. 3 + 1
See #10.
7. Bullseye
Zak Irvin with confidence is quite a bit of fun.
6. How My Hair Look?
It's fine, Spike.
5. Down Goes Moe
What's German for "fall down go boom"?
4. Threading The Needle
This had a certain Spike-to-GRIII feel to it.
3. Effective Pump Fake
That's not fair, Duncan.
2. Mark Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo Donnal
GET
OUT
(Also, yes, that is really Dikembe Mutombo's full name.)
FRAMES OF THE GAME: REVERSE AND REACT
ESPN never showed a replay of Robinson's lefty reverse, which is borderline criminal, but they did show Spike's reaction...
...which compensated for that oversight.

Great to see Spike on the bench!

False. Great would be to see Spike in uniform. I feel like we've all been robbed of the culmination of a great story. (Unless he really does come back next year and somehow has a scholarship available, I guess).
Great to see him supporting the team to the best of his ability, however. Damn you, human frailty!

Spike!!!!!!

The SpikeReaction.GIF will be a staple here for a long time.

I couldn't wait for the gifs from this game...but it's missing the one I thought for sure would be in!
Robinson sank a 3 (in the first half, I believe) and the look on the staffperson's face sitting on the end of Maryland's bench was priceless.
Anyone else catch that?

I noticed that too. Had to replay it a couple times on the DVR
I believe it was after Duncan's 3 right before the 4 minute TV timeout. Dude had a look that was equal parts "Is this dude serious", "Wait, THAT guy is killing us" and "I need to take a dump".
It's right around 29 minute mark of this full game video posted the other day.

But the broadcast replay is the one that shows the Maryland coach.
January 14th, 2016 at 5:09 PM ^
That's the one! Thanks...it was worth watching again!
The crazy thing is that's exactly what my face looked like during the entirety of the second half of the 2014 football season.

Thanks for pointing that out.

Perfect!
And is this further visual evidence of Newton's 3rd Law? That guy is like the anti-Bielfeldt.

this is ESPN's fault, but #needsmoarbenchmob

because I really haven't seen many. Plus, that was a "I'm a man" type blocks.

my favorite part of that Mark Donnal block on Sulaimon was the "No means No!" chant afterwords from the Maize Rage. The look on his face was priceless

Not a fan of those. Sexual assault shouldn't be cheap trash talk fodder.

I kinda like it. A clever twist -- I think it punches up rather than detracts from the original...

Welcome back Bench Mob. Love it.

Dakich may be dethroned if Spike keeps up these reactions on the bench.

Had to vote for the Duncan Robinson reverse layup. We don't really need him to be doing that this year with our other guys, but the dude has the potential to be A+ all-around DANGEROUS next year. I'll take 56% from 3-pt land dangerous any day, too.

Got to be the Donnal block, the first one. The second one was impressive as well.
And how about a gif of Donnal staying with Sulaimon on that last 3 point attempt? Absolutely moved with him and harrassed him into an uncomfortable shot. Some huge plays from the big man in this game.

I like the Donnal tip in. He boxes out first... weird how that works

Nice work Ace. Had a hard time deciding on my favorite one.

Just spent 20 minutes researching Mutombo after making sure that is his real name (Minus the Donnal)
