fair point that
I believe this is called bowling a turkey:
Click for the original, unedited GIF, though the above is how that play is now going to live on in my memory. Many, many more GIFs coming tomorrow afternoon.
Seriously, I hope Brian adds a stat for epic WR blocks.
This is awesome.
Though it appears that one of those guys was already on the ground. I hadn't noticed that before
Nope, he gets all three. The third guy was on his knees grasping for Gallon, but Jehu's combo-block sends him flat on his ass. You can see it best on the un-edited gif.
That gif is brilliant
Awesome gif. One of my favorite moments of the game.
I can tell, judging by your avatar.
Obviously...you're a bowler.
but add another vote in the AWESOME column.
How many pancakes does Chesson now have on the year? Also, does this count as three?
Chesson.... German for destroyer of worlds. Epic gif, didn't see this on the opposite side of the stadium.
Something I wondered about his jersey: why the II after "Chesson"?
Looks cooler than Jr?
''junior" always has the same name as his father - "second" is not named for his father but does have the same name as an older relative
that's not a turkey, that's a four-bagger!
Turkey but tastes like chicken.
I can't wait for this kid to start catching balls, but in the meantime 3:1 specials will do.
I also thought a 4th player got caught in the wash. Three leaves him tied with Shea - fortunately, he has a few years to work on it.
3 chickens = 1 turkey
The coolest part is that Chesson barely moves, but the guy he hits goes flying. Usually when collisions are big enough for one guy to go flying, the other guy does too. And I promise Chesson weighs less than the guy he hit.
managing to stay on his feet - he didn't even launch into them.
Soooo much WIN!
That is priceless. Bravo.
Throw the ball at him.
even more amazing.
That is just about how I remember it, too.
Chesson: the black Aaron Shea?
until he could just get around no. 22's shoulder so no penalty... got under the pad, leveraged position, lifted up with the hit...
JEHU: the name in ancient Sumerian means "plays with awesome pad level"
"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of Notre Dame defensive backs."
And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay...
Just wait until "Chesson v.III" hits campus in 2034. 3 players at once? pshaw.... (dismissive wave of the hand)
ran a defender out to the goal line, then sprinted all the way back to perform this magnificent blockade. Best block since Omameh took out Teo, Smith and Teo's invisible girlfriend during Denard's epic 87-yard run a few years ago....
"one shot & three beers."
Irish Truck Bomb.
The only thing that would make this GIF more mighty would be the theme music to Conan the Barbarian.
with the added sound effects of a bowling alley.
Who spots these things?!?
What a great comparison image.
for that one when the team reviews the film. Holy crap!
Are we sure that Borges, Chesson and Funchess haven't conspired to swap Funchess' and Chesson's numbers, and we actually have the reborn Funchess with the power of Greek gods running out there as a wideout, and Chesson is really the TE with improved blocking but still a glorified wide receiver?
"WOOOO! I'm slammin' em' tonight! You boys are gettin' the water!"
"ALLLLRIIIIIIIIIGHT! Way to go, Jehu!"
Play five times, for my wife, when it first happened and all she said was, "what's the big deal" and I kept saying, "he took out three guys"....*sigh*
I'm watching this over and over and chuckling and she's like what's so funny so I show her and as soon as she see's it has to do with UM football she rolls her eyes and I say no no look at what 86 is doing and she says yeah so and I say he just took 3 guys out with literally one hand!
As I jumped out of my seat and exclaimed, "Mgoblog is going to be SO all over this! He might get +4 on UFR for that! This hit will become legend. You just wait!"
Imagine the eye roll I received.
Imagine how quickly I ran to show her this.
I wish the players still received Wolverine stickers for their helmets. Chesson would get at least three for that play.
...picking up the 2-4-5-7. Must have been an awfully light tap on the headpin with the first ball, though, to leave that.
Got some work to do.
