HONORABLE MENTION

Spike three. Spike steal & layup. Burke steal & not-quite-a-dunk. Burke steal & Hardaway dunk. Obligatory Wes Unseld Reference™. End of half inbounds play. EOH foul & Burke reaction. Three Goggles Guy. Stauskas three celebration. GRIII to Burke: "You're my boy." Burke fist pump. Stauskas slick pass to McGary. Burke pull-up three. GRIII block. Happy Horford. Dirt off Corey Person's shoulders. Schadenfreude camera zoom. McGary picks up Burke. Overjoyed Stauskas.

20. Young Craig Sager Fan

This kid either loves Craig Sager or garish suits.

Wait, those are the same thing.

19. Burke to GRIII, Part One

Flawless post-oop spin move by GRIII. Alternate angle with more GRIII reaction.

18. COREY PERSON

I am so, so disappointed that we didn't see more shots of Michigan's pregame huddles this year.

17. Mitch "Grand Larceny" McGary

All five(!) of Mitch McGary's steals in one handy gif.

16. Nice Try, Buddy

No, Erik Murphy, "I called shotgun" doesn't work in basketball.

15. Needle: Threaded

Criminy, what a pass.

14. Stauskas Behind The Back

Nik Stauskas prefers his assists with extra flair.

13. McGary Steal & Save

lolwut that's our center

12. Spike Albrecht Baseball Pass

lolwut that's our backup point guard

11. That's "Prince Caris LeVert" To You

lolwut that's our fifth-best freshman

10. Tim Hardaway Chest Pound Spectacularrrr

Yeah, Matt Vogrich's late three was pretty fun.

9. Burke to GRIII, Part Two

"No, it's cool, I just decided 11 feet in the air that my left arm was entirely unnecessary."

8. Matt Vogrich Bombs Away

100% Pure Columbian Awesome. On a related note...

7. Holster Those Guns, They're All Dead

GRIII's reaction was phenomenal, but my favorite part of this gif is Stauskas' and LeVert's joyful embrace behind him. Adorable.

6. Ecstatic Stauskas

I'd be excited about my fifth triple of the half, too.

5. Vogrich Air Bass

This is apparently his go-to move now.

4. ALL OF THE THREES

Here's the first Stauskas three, after which he correctly predicts how many he'd make:

And here's another angle of his final, behind-the-backboard bomb:

Probably not a good idea to leave him open in the corner.

3. SPIKE!

Alternate angle of just SPIKE!

That was... unexpected.

2. World's Saddest Game of Peek-a-Boo

This woman clearly didn't enjoy what she saw on Sunday, but at least she sat near some totally normal human beings.

FRAMES OF THE GAME: Sad Gata

There may be better moments from a Michigan fan's perspective above. As a gif, however, this stands alone.

So many great gifs, but Sad Gata has to be the runaway. Like it can't not be.

EDIT: To add, for me, part of what makes a gif great is its reusability. That Sad Gata gif can be used for every single sport that Florida fails at. I will always enjoy the other ones, but that Sad Gata is going to be enjoyable and usable. It captures a moment of anguish that can reoccur. That's why I love it.

I'm lovin Vogrich's air bass. Given that he played guitar against Kansas, I expect him to play the drums against Cuse..or maybe an air saxophone if smooth jazz is his thing.

...definitely air saxophone

Of Spikes steal/lay-up is awesome.

First, it starts out with a McGary blow by (you know, just McGary doing McGary things).

Then you get the subtle Beilein clap from the stool (love the stool). And you get some applause from the bench.

Then Spike comes from seemingly out of the frame, steals it, none of the three Florida players know what just happened, and then Spike pulls off an acrobatic lay-up.

Then you get the full bench + Beilein being happy reaction and a Florida time out.

Not to mention it expanded our lead from 12 (closest they ever came since the 13-0 start), back to a comfortable 16.

That is the winner in my eyes.

The Spike steal and layup felt like it put the game away. Florida was rallying and our offense was stagnant, then McGary gets something going and we're starting to feel OK. Florida tries to keep the tempo up, get the ball in quick, and answer with some offense of their own, when suddenly Spike takes every last breath of wind out of their sails.

It's amazing watching that whole GIF. You see Spike start to trot up the floor with everyone else, and then the moment just takes him and he knows exactly what he's going to do and exactly where he needs to be. If you watch the replay angle you can see just how good of a job he did hiding behind Wilbekin, keeping that guy right between himself and the inbounder until the last moment.

I'm really starting to like Spike. I know there'll be tons of competition the next few years, but I think we'll be seeing a lot more of him.

Steves, StL and lensch2 pretty much summed it up.  McGary and Spike put our foot right back on their throats for good.

Let me add one angle here -  The point guard who did this was not the guy who is everybody's POY.   That dude was chilling on the bench or something.  Our back-up killed you.  How does that taste?

That McGary save was just stupid.  Lolwut indeed.

Spike had quite the GIFable game as well.  That baseball pass is a huge reassurance for next year.  Dude has split-second court vision like whoa.  I guess his acrobatic steal was okay too seeing as he just punked Florida starters who've been to the Elite 8 the past three straight years.

For me, the GIF of the game was Hardaway pounding his chest.  You want to know what happened in the Kansas game?  Watch The Yell.  You want to know what happened in the Florida game?  Cue Hardaway.

(which is what we're doing I know), it's Spike.  That sequence made me almost text my Gator fan friend to gloat in a game made for gloating.  Looking forward, it's Burke to GRIII.  That sort of play is what's going to win the championship.

I love this technology!  If one of you geniuses could post something similar for highlights of the 1989 run---low resolution and all-- you would be sure to win accolades. Glen Rice raining them in?  Rumeal's ordeal at the line?

I haven't had a chance to post this yet, but eventually I'm going to have a gif page on here with a bunch of historical ones (all the ones I can find on YouTube, at least), including:

I have the Fab Five doc on my hard drive but haven't had a chance to go through it yet—that's on the postseason to-do list.

Sad Gata can be the constant reminder of Michigan succeeding where osu double failed in 2007.  Came up today chatting at the office.  Need to pair Sad Gata with Sad Tebow.

On every single one Nik's 3s, you can see GR3 coming in from the perimeter for the dunk/finish in case the shot doesn't fall. He doesn't stop, even when Nik has already made 4. Great effort, and if Nik does miss, there's still potential for a monster play.

My favorite is how Deja vu Nik's threes are as evidenced by watching Billy Donovan in each gif.  You could CGI him in any one of them into basically every other and it wouldn't change anything, it's eerie, and gives me the lolwut happy chuckle.

Check out how GR3 attacks the hoop on each one of Stauska's shots.  We remember it when the ball bounces right and he's there for the epic jam, but this is a good illustration of how that's a result of him consistently getting to the rim on deep shots.  I'm sure that's a result of Beilein's coaching.

Watching some of these made it oh so clear how magic this season has really been.  In so many of these you can see the fun these kids are having.   If the season ends on Saturday, this will still be my favorite Michigan basketball team.

the whole post is a "Win."  Many of the GIFs I did not catch watching the first time around.  After just watching Rumeal sink the free throws on the BIG Netwok tonight, that addition was the whipped cream.  Well done.  Danke.

I think I would feel the same way about Corey Person that I will always feel about CJ Lee. It makes me sad we never get to see Corey and almost glad those teams with CJ weren't very good. CJ showed us what a leader was on the court.

One Hoke over …

All great, I'm goosebump'd watching these and re-experiencing the game.  My fav was all 5 of Mitch's steals.  He's got some nimble hands for a center.  Awareness overfloweth from Mitch's pitcher
