I'm most excited about in the coming years. The staff loves him, OSU wanted him, and RichRod got him. Seems to fit the system to a T. He may not be able to usurp Ortmann just yet, but I think this guy will be a rock on the Oline for the next 4 years.
others have complimented me for my signature, but I said - "not good enough"
I had a doppelganger who couldn't spell comment right:
He's in the engineering program as a football player, so he has much respect from me.
Engineering at Michigan is hard enough without football everyday. We've had a lot of smart football players in the last 5 years.
If you're IOE.
Hey now. IOE '05 here.
I transferred from IOE to ME as fast as I could.
More like IOEasy AMIRITE?
I'm not offended because I know it's true...
I like turtles
Play him off, keyboard cat
Like turtles, or GTFO
If I ever find that not funny (same goes with Mr. Keyboard Cat, overly enthusiastic Jersey dudes in a Hyundai, etc.) just put me down.
Talk about gaining in size. Wasn't he scrawny his junior and senior year in high school which is why he was a 2 star?
Now he's a fricken giant. Can't wait to see him on the field.
Barwis strikes again! Is there anything he can't do?
He can't admit he's wrong, because to do so would end the world.
I don't think his weight gain is all that surprising/amazing. He was 260-265 as a senior. So he put on about 25 pounds, which is only a couple pounds a month, on average.
The nature of his weight gain is impressive. Some people add 15 lbs of muscle with 15 lbs of fat. He seems to have added 30 lbs of muscle.
He should be the starting LT for the next few years. He's being tried at both OT position. His upside is outstanding.
Reports were that Barnum was pushing for time at LT before he had wrist surgery. I wouldn't slot Omameh in there just yet...
The coaches wanted to take a look at Barnum at LT just to see if he can handle the position and the coaches wanted to put their 5 best OL on the field. He's a OG all the way.
That's not what I heard, but okay. Anything can happen before next season, anyway.
we heard differently but what i heard is Barnum was being looked at LT to see if he can play the LT position. He never threatened to push for the starting LT position.
wrong. Seantrel Henderson will be our starting LT in the near future ;)
There goes the BOOM!
Taylor Lewan? Is he slated for RT? Anyone?
Dude, that avatar is pretty creepy.
This shit never gets old. I laugh every time.
UNC Wolverine just made me smile.
What an amazing concept...Nice when the years continue and instead of relaying on major frosh contributions we can first have them Barwis'd and learn from the sidelines in all but the elite situations..
Well, glad to see that Omameh, Barnum and (to some extent) Khoury are developing nicely. Looks like Dann O'Neill is transferring to WMU:
With O'Neill and Wermers now transferring and Mealer still a question mark, doesn't look like we can rely on our class of '07 for depth. We're still okay, and I don't think anyone was expecting O'Neill to make an impact this year, but it still hurts depth.
p.s. I would have made this a new post, but unfortunately I haven't hit the 20 point mark, yet, so I apologize if this is a bit outside the scope of this thread.
just a question mark...He is apparently developing well considering what he went through. And OL is one place where we appear to have sufficient depth - especially in comparison to depth at other places (e.g., defense).
And it was 2008 recruits, so having Mealer, Barnum, Khoury, and Omameh around is not like the line class was a bust.
Considering the youth we have at Mealer's positions (guard and center), it's potentially okay if he doesn't develop for a few years. Molk is only a RS sophomore and Khoury is in Mealer's class. Barnum could start at OG, and Ferrara and Schilling both have two years left. It's a long way off, but our interior line could easily look like this for the next few years:
2009: Schilling, Molk, Moosman
2010: Schilling, Molk, Barnum
2011: Khoury, Molk, Barnum
Forgetting about Washington? Seems many people forget him and Stokes when talking about last years recruits. Probably because they came aboard late as everyone was starting to look to 2010 recruiting.
Not at all. I just think Khoury, being older, would have the better shot at playing.
He should have to change his last name because I hate reading it.
I always assumed it was "OH-mah-may" but I saw a coach interviewed (I forget who) and he said it "oh-MAH-mee." I have to say it aloud every time I read it to beat it into my head.
Wait, so his last name is pronounced like "oh, mommy."
Turns out, searching Google images for "oh, mommmy" for a funny image, not a good idea with safe search off.
Haha, I would try this for myself, but I'm at the UGLi and I've already tapped out my thirty minutes of library porn for the day
"Haha, I would try this for myself, but I'm at the UGLi and I've already fapped out my thirty minutes of library porn for the day"
Fixed. Also, it's not really, uh, good search results.
Well played. I walked right into that one
And I'm curious, ShockFX, what do you consider good search results?
When the first result is a woman standing next to a horse, I don't look much past that. So, in this case, I'll apply the "un-good" tag to the results and move on.
It's from farmporno.com, one of my faves.
Yes, it's oh-MAH-mee.
