landing spot. will be interesting to see how he does.
I was just going to actually create my own post saying I can't stand the anxiety.
I think playoff hockey is the most exciting sport there is. Every second is filled with so much pressure and potential, it's ridiculous. You don't get that in basketball, baseball, or even football (my overall favorite sport).
In hockey, I can't walk away from the tv for even 30 seconds, and I can't really say that about the other 3.
Game 7 -- gotta love it!
If they lose I'm going to punch a baby. Or a puppy.
On a related note, I was driving behind a Prius (pussy) today and it had a bumper sticker that said "Against Baby Abandonment" or something like that. It then said "Don't abandon your baby." Is anyone Pro-Baby Abandonment?
It depends on how much of a pain in the ass babby has been that day.
FACT: They need to do way instain mother
Born and Raised in South Detroit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't wait to hear some Journey in the 3rd tonight...
Who the F even has to have a sticker for that? Its like farting in church. That is just a no no, unless it is silent and you always sit next to the suspect old lady. Then you can for sure get away with it.
A repeat of Game 5 is desirable.
I was just on ESPN and saw their scoreboard at the top of the page -- it said Det 1 Pitt 0, end of 3rd.
Obviously, a little confusing. I guess we're playing the Pirates today, who knew?
...to a watchable stream? Using ustream at the moment and pulling my hair out with the lag. Any help would be much appreciated. Go Wings!
also: Crosby looks a bit like the tumor ridden mad preacher from Deadwood.
Matt "Money" Smith said he'd be watching on chanelsurfing.net
It is going to ruin my entire god damned week if the Wings give up the stanley cup to a team full of third team all-stars. A team with so much talent looks like they're playing with so little incentive. God Damn it all.
I think people are overrating this Wings team. The defense is the weak spot. They're slow and don't hit. Pittsburgh is pinching hard at the points and dumping it deep in our zone, negating our stars like Datsyuk and Zetterberg and taking advantage of our weak defense.
Plus, the refs have been gifting us penalties. I can't believe Franzen wasn't called for interfering with Crosby. Crosby was about 10 feet from the puck when Franzen slammed him. That's good and all, but with some of the weak stuff called on Pittsburgh thus far and the crap we're getting away with (see: just about every play by Rafalski), we REALLY need to cash in.
Give Pittsburgh some credit. They're doing a great job of forechecking, creating turnovers, and blocking our shooting lanes. They're good. Period.
I agree with this as well. Way too many turnovers by the wing's defense in their own zone. Could possibly be attributed to the pen's forecheck, but it seems to me that its just as much the wings not playing up to par as anything else.
I can handle my shitty internet feed. The issue now is the Wings disinterest in shooting from closer than 6.02*10^23' from the feckin' net. All is lost.
So they don't want to shoot within the range of 1 atom ( or whatever other items you did not specify) to the net?
I mentioned was feet. No atoms involved, just hyperbole and despair. All is lost.
I hope I'm wrong.
I agree. The puck just isn't bouncing their way, even when they're getting good chances. Congrats Penguins, enjoy it while it lasts.
p.s. The pens should thank the powers that be in the NHL for doing everything they could, without being blatantly obvious, to give the cup to Crosby.
Yeah but there have been so many rebounds off the board
A flat, sad effort.
Did not impress.
Brad Stuart's play tonight = 2008 Nick Sheridan
he was the penguins most valuable player
FUCKING A I HATE THE PENGUINS. THEY ARE OUR NEW RIVALS.
well that sucked.
hopefully we get Wings - Pens again next year. BOOM NEW RIVAL.
It's not likely, but that would be awesome.
i wish they were in the eastern conference because 1) the penguins are in it and i hate them now 2) whenever there's an away game it goes til like 1 am. but who knows if this "rivalry" will even happen? nashville and detroit was almost a rivalry, but nashville just went back to sucking like always.
Just like the pens hopefully will in a year or two... though probably not likely...
That was a wild ride this year, just like the previous two before it. Thanks, Red Wings, for letting me come along for it. Hopefully, they have another deep run in them next year. For now, I'll proudly sport my Red Wing gear, letting everyone know that defeat cannot stand between me and my hockey team!
