So that was awesome. Chaos mitigation: need 500 points to start threads/post diaries, need 20 to comment. Curfew lifted sometime Monday. Suggestion: whiskey.

The Man Down T…

November 1st, 2009 at 8:53 PM ^

Agreed, it was very hard to watch. I asked the same thing when it happened too. Why not one run to the outside? Our our offensive line is banged up and while it's meatier than said Olsen twin, it isn't by much. However, Tate and Denard are lightning. Let them run! It's hard not to get down. But I won't because this week is a neat one for me as I am going to the Purdue game. Now I know that most people here get tickets all the time, but for me, it will be my first in 20 (math error above) years since my dad took me to UM/OSU in '89. My kids will be seeing UM in person for the first time and enjoying their first tailgate too (thanks to UMTailgate.com). I'm too psyched to be down. And if UM wins and gets to a bowl I can get to, I'll be there! Hang in there. We'll get through this!

My my, any suggestion around hese parts that the emperors are anything other than fully clothed gets you whacked. For the record, I still have overall support for the coaching staff. But my support, and anyone else's, should be based on performance alone. In other words, I ain't drinking anybody's Kool-Aid.

I'm sorry but when you regress from game 1 to game 9, something is wrong at every level, including the coaching. Our linebacker plays is bad, bad, bad. I watched Mouton get sealed inside and outside more times than I can count. Either he's slow or he's not reading his keys and reacting quickly enough. In either event, it's horrendously discouraging. Apathy is setting in, and I am the farthest thing from a fair weather fan. If having linemen stand on fitness balls while doing dumbell presses equated to victories, we'd be ranked in the top 10. Unfortunately, it don't mean jack poo. Flame away.

I truly appreciate everyone's optimism, but this sucked. We became Illinois's only FBS defeated opponent this year. I made a comment about how for some strange reason (possibly having to do with the universe lining up against us), no game is a given because mobile 3rd string QB's have a habit of coming alive against us. I would give anything for that to amount to unnecessary paranoia. It sucks. I know, there are gaping holes in defense, the 1st 2 QB's are true freshmen who have been playing like it, 4 DC's in 5 years. I doubt the players weren't trying, but they were far from their best. Only Brandon Graham was giving his best. We went from upsetting ND to losing to Iowa by 2 with a chance to come back (to be fair, we also barely beat Indiana), to getting crushed by an old-school (read: bad) Illinois team. 4-and-out on the goal line against one of the worst rush defenses in the country?? How did we get so embarrassingly bad? I have no idea how it will happen, but winning against Purdue is absolutely crucial. Dammit, it felt like Michigan was on its way to fulfilling Rittenberg's best-case scenario. In a cruel twist, the other one has begun to appear more likely. Please Rich Rod work some more magic. Bring this team back.

Oh no need to worry. I wasn't necessarily criticizing anyone in particular. I pretty much typed that post on my laptop as I dropped to the ground, tearing my shirt open to expose my glistening yet scarred chest, and screamed out to the gods in pain and despair. It was very dramatic. Fortunately, people dropped me enough money for a cup of coffee.

The Wolverines are really young. Tate is young. The defense is thin. Things will change, I just know it. Be patient! The Maize and Blue will reign again, watch it happen. Hold Your Head Up Michigan Nation!

"Perhaps we could add in a Sad Panda, or a Wombat of Frustration? Both, especially the Frustration, are appropriate after a loss." Wombat of Frustration. I like it.
