to retrieve the text of a diary after I tried to post it and it got denied, eh?
October 31st, 2009 at 7:14 PM ^
It probably wasn't worth posting anyways.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:20 PM ^
dick.

Here's hoping that the ship is righted before next Saturday.
Oh, and I think it's too early to start talking about firing the coach. That idea should be revisited no earlier than next November.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:20 PM ^
A loss like this does make you question whether this whole experiment was a good idea or not. Losing a close game to a 1-6 team is one thing; getting blown out by a 1-6 team (coached by Ron Zook, no less) is another.
But yeah, I agree that it's stupid to start calling for RichRod's head. He should get at least 3 years.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:03 PM ^
agree with the restrictions.
I'm likely out for the next couple of days.
Even with the restrictions, there is little that is likely to be productive to be said in the near future.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:09 PM ^
Even Monday seems perhaps a bit premature.
October 31st, 2009 at 8:07 PM ^
How about December? I'm only half kidding. I don't even care that I wouldn't be able to start a thread. People are freaking out.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:04 PM ^
I was thinking about vacating the boards for a couple days for fear of the chaos, but now that it's been mitigated, I'll still be around.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:05 PM ^
Good move.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:05 PM ^
... I love that Brian had to implement a state of emergency after this loss. Good use of his power. Whiskey is also a great recommendation... that and (as my wife just suggested) prostitutes.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:10 PM ^
Way ahead of you. Bottoms up.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:14 PM ^
Is the "bottoms up" in reference to the whiskey, the prostitutes, or both?
October 31st, 2009 at 8:11 PM ^
This sequence of comments made my day.
November 1st, 2009 at 9:09 AM ^
Yes.
Well. That was an... interesting... night.
November 1st, 2009 at 9:48 AM ^
So you dressed up as a prostitute and drank whiskey? Wouldn't put it past a female student.
November 2nd, 2009 at 10:17 AM ^
I like you more and more with every post:)

I hate that damn mountain.

Whew.

Brian,
Thanks for limiting what will assuredly be a crazy as hell firestorm of tin hat/area 51 level intensities. The streets will flow with the blood of the Rod believers etc.
It is what it is, let's hope the team gets to 6 with a win over Purdue, becomes bowl eligible and see where we are next year.
Again, thanks

If I weren't working the Union's pool hall tonight I'd be sticking by my trademark Knob Creek.

-effective and this is not a night for something to savor.

Coors Light is working pretty well at a high enough speed, so I'm guessing cheap whiskey is more than enough.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:10 PM ^
It really isn't their fault
October 31st, 2009 at 7:11 PM ^
So how hard is it to change the theme to something pink and kitten-centric in drupal?

I've recently gotten a co-worker of mine to check the blog regularly with the promise of kitteh pictures. This bodes well for her continued readership.
Looking for the positives here...

Denial...not a bad coping mechanism.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:14 PM ^
Absolutely agree with this decision. Could someone with enough points start a hockey open thread, though? We're currently down 2 - 1 to LSSU, who we beat 5 - 1 last night. Hopefully SOMEthing can go right for us?
October 31st, 2009 at 7:15 PM ^
on it.

Thanks!

Love the action by our fearless leader. Look forward to a "State of the Blog"-esque post on Monday. Until then I will probably do as most of the rest of you and try to Un-Michigan myself as much as that is possible, which of course is not very.
But until then I will try my best to let this go and spend some quality time with Mrs. 60 and coolest dog ever to wear a maize and blue jersey.
We'll get through this. Dammit.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:22 PM ^
and some good college football will take the sting out. Texas-OSU
or USC-Oregon maybe.
October 31st, 2009 at 11:13 PM ^
Watching USC's dynasty finally come to an end does dull the sting a little bit (but only because I live on the West Coast and have to deal with their annoying fans).
October 31st, 2009 at 11:29 PM ^
I'm enjoying USC's loss so much right now. I enjoy watching them lose much more than I should.
November 1st, 2009 at 12:35 AM ^
Fuck it all
November 1st, 2009 at 4:45 PM ^
True, but in fairness, Masoli is an upperclassman whereas Forcier is less than a year out of HS.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:23 PM ^
But what the heck happened? I caught the tail end, just in time to see the score. I'm not here to gloat, but can somebody tell me how the hell that happened? Was the game like last's years (Juice Williams suddenly and inexplicably becoming unstoppable, only to resume being terrible the next week)?
And it's probably a good idea to put up a curfew. Fearless leader is as ruthless as he is fearless.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:32 PM ^
Michigan leading 13-7 with first and goal from the 1 and we get stoned 4 times in a row. Illinois was set to bring in their freshman QB but being backed up at the goal line they leave in Juice who suddenly becomes the Juice of last year. They score on a 99 yard drive and never look back. It was like they just flipped a switch and all those great recruits Zook has been getting played like it.
Michigan gave them some help with fumbles and buying every play fake but from that goal line stand on it was just a different Illinois team.
October 31st, 2009 at 7:37 PM ^
and then the announcers were able to talk about hawthorwne and that g.d. play like he was the second coming of jesus christ, i mean, tim tebow. err
October 31st, 2009 at 7:56 PM ^
the same thing to my wife. i was really getting tired of hearing about hawthorne over and over again.
October 31st, 2009 at 9:57 PM ^
If I never hear the phrase "Game changing play!" again it will be too soon. The way those announcers were fawning over it, we were beginning to question whether the play had also challenged the second law of thermodynamics and overturned the germ theory of disease.
