So that was awesome. Chaos mitigation: need 500 points to start threads/post diaries, need 20 to comment. Curfew lifted sometime Monday. Suggestion: whiskey.

Here's hoping that the ship is righted before next Saturday.

Oh, and I think it's too early to start talking about firing the coach. That idea should be revisited no earlier than next November.

A loss like this does make you question whether this whole experiment was a good idea or not. Losing a close game to a 1-6 team is one thing; getting blown out by a 1-6 team (coached by Ron Zook, no less) is another.

But yeah, I agree that it's stupid to start calling for RichRod's head. He should get at least 3 years.

agree with the restrictions.

I'm likely out for the next couple of days.

Even with the restrictions, there is little that is likely to be productive to be said in the near future.

... I love that Brian had to implement a state of emergency after this loss. Good use of his power. Whiskey is also a great recommendation... that and (as my wife just suggested) prostitutes.

Brian,

Thanks for limiting what will assuredly be a crazy as hell firestorm of tin hat/area 51 level intensities. The streets will flow with the blood of the Rod believers etc.

It is what it is, let's hope the team gets to 6 with a win over Purdue, becomes bowl eligible and see where we are next year.

Again, thanks

Absolutely agree with this decision. Could someone with enough points start a hockey open thread, though? We're currently down 2 - 1 to LSSU, who we beat 5 - 1 last night. Hopefully SOMEthing can go right for us?

Love the action by our fearless leader. Look forward to a "State of the Blog"-esque post on Monday. Until then I will probably do as most of the rest of you and try to Un-Michigan myself as much as that is possible, which of course is not very.

But until then I will try my best to let this go and spend some quality time with Mrs. 60 and coolest dog ever to wear a maize and blue jersey.

We'll get through this. Dammit.

But what the heck happened? I caught the tail end, just in time to see the score. I'm not here to gloat, but can somebody tell me how the hell that happened? Was the game like last's years (Juice Williams suddenly and inexplicably becoming unstoppable, only to resume being terrible the next week)?

And it's probably a good idea to put up a curfew. Fearless leader is as ruthless as he is fearless.

Michigan leading 13-7 with first and goal from the 1 and we get stoned 4 times in a row. Illinois was set to bring in their freshman QB but being backed up at the goal line they leave in Juice who suddenly becomes the Juice of last year. They score on a 99 yard drive and never look back. It was like they just flipped a switch and all those great recruits Zook has been getting played like it.

Michigan gave them some help with fumbles and buying every play fake but from that goal line stand on it was just a different Illinois team.

If I never hear the phrase "Game changing play!" again it will be too soon. The way those announcers were fawning over it, we were beginning to question whether the play had also challenged the second law of thermodynamics and overturned the germ theory of disease.
