You really think he has lost everything that made him a top prospect four years ago already? It's not like he's been sitting on his butt for four years like I was in college, I'm pretty sure he hasn't completely forgot how to be a quarterback.
Just remember that I'm not saying he's going to come in and set the world on fire immediately. I'm just saying that he might be better than what we will have backing up Tate this fall, scout teamers and a guy who should redshirt, take his time, yadda yadda. Even if he does suck, so what? He won't be the first player to come to Michigan and not see the field. And since we have extra scholarships and it won't affect any future recruits, it doesn't hurt anything.
I just can't see how our current crop of backup QBs is so superior to a former 4-star recruit that it's not worth taking a free chance on the possibility that he might not suck.
