weighs in on Michigan football:
New York Times
Nathan Sandals, I believe, is the outgoing editor of the Sports section for the Daily. This is the first non-hockey thing I've seen his name on.
It was a particularly good year for the Daily sports section, too, I believe. Kudos to Sandals!
"Forcier is listed as Michigan’s fastest quarterback on the record board inside the weight room at Schembechler Hall, with a 40-yard dash time of 4.67 seconds."
If I were Tate, I'd take a photo of that, because it's not going to last. Even if D-Rob doesn't steal it in August, I'm willing to bet that 5 to 20 years of RR recruiting is going to murder that number.
I'm guessing this record board is a Barwis innovation, so that the players will know which guy in each position group, were they ever to let Barwis off his chain, would be the last to die.
As such, I'd like to know who had the record before Tate, just for the trivia value down the line. It's like remembering who was the first guy to hold the MLB home run record,* since they started counting.
I would go with either Demetrius Brown or Michael Taylor.
I think it's just a ranking of current players, not an all-time record.
