Did he have something to do with getting Ricardo up early?
Anyone know much about him?

AAHuron was recently voted as the top high school in Michigan..

Gildersleeve is from Dundee originally. He played college football at Central Michigan as did his brother Nick. Dundee was in my high school conference so I'm familiar with them. He did a pretty good job at Dundee considering the talent that was there. Produced 2 D1 athletes that I can remember. Dan Fugate a receiver that went to Eastern Micihgan and his brother Nick who was a QB at Central. I've heard from people around the program that he's a real prick though. I personally never met the guy, just familiar with the family.

I've seen kids on the wrestling team that would make fine football players. I'm sure the Rowes and Eggert, and now Heiserman, are pretty good at the footballs.

Wrestling talent doesn't always transfer onto the football field. Ex. Temperance-Bedford. Great wrestling program, absolutely terrible football program.

has good smaller wrestlers. Now look at Rockford. They have lots of good upper weight wrestlers. Other great upper weight wrestlers: Mike Martin, Terrance Taylor--both state champions at 285. Mike Martin won it 2x actually. Just an interesting tidbit for those who didn't know.

I will say that I am surprised by this hire in that Hartland hasn't been good in a long time and I don't know why he'd come here or why Huron hired him. As an alum of this school, I've played for many head coaches (Verska and DeFilippo) and knew the previous coach Joel P. pretty well. I don't know why Joel resigned - I don't think it was a force our or anything. Maybe I'm wrong and if so, someone correct me. He was the starting quarterback that led AAHuron to the state championship game his senior year and was pretty beloved. I wish someone like Paul Test would have gotten the head coaching job here because he's a great defensive mind and teacher, which is what I think all high school football coaches should be.
That being said, I think he had absolutely ZERO impact in getting Ricardo here. AAHuron was recently voted as the top high school in Michigan, so that, along with proximity to Michigan was what probably drew him here.
