Brian

I was waiting for the press conference, but if Angelique is reporting it, it's done.

This may be grave-dancing, but I've never had a problem with that. People should be evaluated honestly.

And you could have one without the other but by tradition there is a second video…

Go to the Indiana game, guys, and cheer hard.

Who cares if it's grave dancing? DB has been doing that to his OWN fanbase for years!

Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out, motherfucker!!

Our football program and is immensely sad/embarrassing.... In no way does it warrant the same celebration given to going to the final 4, nat championship or any other major win. Dislike.

or something to that effect. I usually feel bad for guys losing their job (like I will for Hoke) but Dave Brandon was such an ass for his entire tenure that I can only muster "Adios jackass"

If I had done the investigation that directly or indirectly led to the timing of this resignation, I'd be running through the streets naked holding a huge sign that said "I FIRED DAVE BRANDON, BITCHES"

he definitely bumped up a few notches in my book with this one. It's tough to be decisive so early on in a new position and it can't have been easy for him, but the way he handled it publically - never promising anything, but being very metered and 'purposeful' with his statements - and then dropping the hammer was excellent. I think we got a good one.

a franchise that featured the work of a dogged cop who singlehandedly finds a way to break up a series of criminal conspiracies disguised as work by terrorists during the Christmas season, is I guess is a fitting way to serenade the exit of Dave Brandon, a former Michigan regent, pizza magnate and printing company CEO, whose personality and corpratizing marketing moves wound up alienating too many campus constituencies while his coaching choice suffered through one of the most trying seasons in Michigan football memory.

Brandon has done many good things for the university and whether you want him out because your upset with his practices and personality in approach, remember that the man still bleeds Maize and Blue. In the end, he just wasn't the best fit for the job if only because he lost sight of the people he was serving.

I do wonder who will be named the interim choice as AD and how long it will take to name a new athletic director, because that process will clearly impact the timing of the hire to replace Hoke. Today's announcement will have far-reaching impact for Michigan athletics.

DB will be fine.  It's not like he will have financial issues from losing this job, and he is still well enough regarded by his circle that he will get a new corporate position.  He will land on his feet.  Therefore, I have no qualms in wishing DB success in not letting the door hit him in the ass on his way out and finding another team to root for!

Hardly a time to muppet or to cheer. That the football program has come to this lowest-of-the low point and the AD has to resign is a sad, sad day for Michigan football. But from here, maybe the only direction for the program is up. In any event, I find nothing to feel good about.

I certainly feel good that Michigan football is going to be heading in a new direction. Yeah, it'd be nice if we were undefeated right now and in the hunt for a MNC. But that definitely isn't where we are. With a couple key hires, Michigan can hopefully return to glor...NOT going to say it. We can hopefully go back to being a powerhouse program with the hope and belief every single year to be strongly in contention for that MNC. In short...yeah, I'm going to celebrate this.

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but my sources are telling me that Jim Hackett will be the interim AD.  Former player, CEO, but polar opposite of DB.  Very highly respected man out of West Michigan (where the best people come from).

Have a happy life, and quit drinking and leave your office, and with all due respect you are an abomination, and I am sorry you are 'upset', and I suggest you relax and stay home for good.

Sincerely,

Everyone

....and GO BLUE!

Short term - a Kate pic/gif or 20

Medium term - the start of normalcy at Michigan Stadium - ei the end of stripper music and threatened fireworks

Long term - the replacement of Brady Hoke (whom I think a great deal of) and the return of Michigan Football to its historic level.

That is all.  It's a good day.  Go Blue ..... Every One!

I won't deny that this is a positive and will have a drink tonight in tribute of the move. But damn I'm tired of celebrating actions due to shipwrecks. Let's hit a homerun with the new coach, let Dantonio and Meyer silently piss their pants because we immediately hammer them with some last minute recruit grabs and then we fill the stadium in the spring game.

We started the car, now let's put the hammer down!

for the man.  Michigan grad, ex-football player, and succesful businessman.  Michigan AD was probably akin to his dream job.

But he was an ass and I think he deserved to be shown the door.
