Boisture just flipped to MSU after visiting for their 7 on 7 this week.
this may be of some local interest
good pick up for them.
how good is he?
He's pretty good. And by pretty, I mean a lot better than what State is used to. He's a four star, #4 overall Pro-style Qb who committed early to BC but has apparently decided to stay in Michigan. I'm sure he would have been highly interested in us.. if our Qb's were allowed to stay rooted to the ground. However, he does not fit the mold of our qb's. Still talented nonetheless.
got their QB last year with Maxwell. That's what I'm told by all my Spartan friends.
You have spartan friends. I'm severely dissapointed.
-1 my friend, -1
We all have a few spartan friends. We need someone to make us look better and spartans make us look smart and just cocky enough.(I like to call that the UM swagger)
My pretentiousness is attributed to Michigan arrogance
When Boisture gets there Nichol and Cousins will be juniors and Maxwell will in all probability be a RS freshmen. BC has nothing on the depth chart.
While we have four recruits in two years there is the possibility that if things don't work for Denard or Jones at QB they can play other positions. That doesn't hold true for the Sparty QBs.
And there's more "proof" that Sparty own the State of Michigan. I guess we'll need to rely on Florida, Penn., and Ohio this year.
I imagine Bolden is going south...
It's been rumored he's a PSU lean. There was a post here the other day about how a MSU affiliated guy (don't remember his name) was complaining that Bolden's father is set up with a job at PSU.
Does that make Dantonio a snake oil salesman? Oh, the horror!
you see, that only applies to stealing other Big Ten recruits!! It's immoral to do that. It's okay to steal from other conferences.
Also, HartAttack...I have to have Spartan friends when they're my roommates. Doesn't mean I didn't still trash them though :)
looks like a John Navarre clone.
I've seen that somewhere else
I would cheer so hard for this guy if his name were Joe Moisture.
You just put word imagery of Boi-moisture in my head, then I looked at your avatar, and now I have an urge to ride a unicorn over a rainbow.
Strange...feelings...like I want to enlist in the...WLA.
BOOM. Roasted. I'm just kidding WLA; I've been around MGoBlog long enough to appreciate you guys!
well, dantonio is making them relevant again..
He is. I can't decide whether this is a good or bad thing.
Shit. #4 pro-style QB in the country and probably better than Bolden.
for being so highly rated he doesn't have anything close to the offer lists of recruits ranked lower than him.
HOW DO YOU DO THAT COVER ART?!? Somehow I do not want Brian Johnson staring at me on my game cover, I'd much rather have Tate, Minor, Warren, whatever.
I'm a fan of Tate myself
Search Brandon Minor cover art and Tate Forcier cover art.
Thank you both. My life is complete. the demo left much to be desired however.
Forcier ---> Boisture
Denard Robinson ---> Boisture
Devin Gardner ---> Boisture
David Cone = Boisture
Marvin Robinson, Vladimir Emilien and JT Turner = Boisture's passes.
Craig Roh = Boisture's lollygagging in the pocket.
Will Campbell = Boisture looking up at the sun in early October, 2012.
and say all are true other than David Cone > Boisture if only because of his crazy white rapper skills.
SKILLZ THAT KILLZ BITCH
And the necessary link to the video of him "spitting fire"
I was waiting for him to stay closer to home. Dantonio is definitely doing a good job. I wish John L. Smith would come back. That guy was a complete idiot. He made me smile
Wow we just kind of said the same thing at the same time. But I look like the idiot because you clicked save first. Well done my friend, well done.
Better start preparing myself for the inevitable recruiting shit talking. Why can't they just be horrible like usual? I would never tell my state friends this but Dantonio is improving that program a lot.
....when Michigan and Michigan State are both good in basketball.
It's also good when Michigan and Michigan State are both good in football.
There is no joy in beating a team that sucks.
There is great joy in beating an in-state rival that is good.
Oh yeah don't get me wrong that is a good thing, the games will be much more exciting now. But I'm not going to root for State to get better. It's a paradox.
I want them to fail at everything. Always.
Issues like "joy" aside, it's not good for us (or for them) for both teams to be strong at the same time. That just makes it harder for either school to dominate in-state recruiting.
Your point is moot because we already know DANTONIO DOMINATES INSTATE RECRUITING WHOOOOOO YEAHHH.
Sorry I blacked out, what happened?
I beg to differ. If there is no joy in beating a team that sucks, why did Sparty blow their wad last year after they beat us? We sucked.
And no one can possibly claim to have not enjoyed the 49-3 ass-kicking we laid on Bobby Williams' last team.
Say you haven't banged a girl in a long time, you're not going to get picky between a hottie and a nottie. You're going to take what you can get and be jacked about it.
So Michigan is kinda like that girl who State just wanted so bad but we would always just blow them off because they really had nothing to offer. Then one night she got just pass out, completely, utterly drunk and totally hooked up with State. It's not like she wanted to but there was really nothing she could do about it and it definetly won't happen again.
So if I prefer to hook up with plastered skanks, what does that make me? Besides gross.
Hey, you're right. We're good!
there is very little doubt that MD is better than John l. MD did a good job when he was at Cinncy and now is doing a great job at MSU. Here lies the problem for MSU though, he is a better coach than the program that he works for. I really think that someone will offer him more money at a better program soon (maybe ND next year)and he will be gone. Little brother stepped into something good with him but they will probably have a hard time holding onto him for any real length of time (IMO).
You say "Please . . . I deed some boisturizer. Under my doze is dwy."
I'd go to Oregon with Munchie. That would be an excellent haul for them.
I'm not going to bash Boisture and say Bolden is better or whatever. A good pick up for MSU, no doubt. But man, watching his tape, Chrisgocomment is spot on with the Navarre clone comment.
I can't wait for Munchie to start playing at Oregon against Oregon St. Just imagine the combinations of "Munchie" and "Beavers" that are possible in the headlines...
Start calling him "Saintonio" now.
I prefer San Dantonio.
I think that's Spanish for "Whale's Vagina"
It's good to see another player putting academics first. He must be going to State to study lawn care. East Lansing is a much better town then Boston. There is nothing to do in Boston and East Lansing has a Mall.
is probably the best paying job in Michigan right now. Let me guess your an out of work financial planner. I know a lot of those from SCum.
Bro, it's scUM. You guys can't even get your insults right?
OF COURSE lawn care in the best paying job in Michigan right now.
the um is always small. That is how I roll.
It just looks like you're making fun of Southern Cal by capitalizing the SC. Maybe you are, I don't know.
And unlike MSU grads, M grads care about what jobs pay outside of Michigan too.
so yes MSU grads do leave the state of Michigan for employment. I am a MSU alumnus that was also accepted at U of M, but chose State because of the journalism program, but no I did not keep my U of M acceptance letter. I am sure it is in the Riverview land-fill though. Is that where Carr came from? Riverview, not the land-fill.
You are obviously married to some 85-year old woman down there. I call this gold-digging. You honestly take time out of your day to come to MGoBlog, pay Brian $0.003, lie about how you got into Michigan, and argue that lawncare is the best paying job in Michigan right now. To be honest, I lost some self-dignity replying to your post but people like you always piss me off the most. How's that journalism degree working out for you? Probably real well right now. Now, please go change your wife's diaper and sit down and watch replays of the 2008 UM vs. MSU game to your heart's content. I am done.
wishes he could still boast about U of M having a better football and basketball team. So sad :o(
You have repeated the same basic statement all over this thread. You sound like a middle schooler. I look forward to seeing if you post on here after the MSU game this season
to M. there is a great journalism school in A2 too.
We actually don't have a J-school anymore. We got rid of it awhile back when it was clear that writing for the Michigan Daily provided good enough journalistic practice. Having a school to teach that is pointless.
if you want to go to journalism school, you don't apply to UM. hence, i doubt this dude even applied, let alone got in. he's just ripping off Valenti.
When I attended MSU, the J-school was ranked #1 in the country, not sure where it is at currently in the rankings.
That's probably because almost every other university decided to drop its J-school. It's a joke major.
The #1 Journalism School in the nation couldn't even teach you how to fucking spell Spartan?
That's funny. The last time US News and World Report ranked J-Schools was 1996, not since. And here's the list (they only ranked 15):
1. University of Missouri, Columbia
2. Columbia University
3. Northwestern University, Medil
4. University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
5. University of Indiana, Bloomington
6. University of Florida
7. Ohio University, Scripps
7. University of Wisconsin, Madison
9. University of California, Berkley
9. University of Kansas, White
11. University of Maryland, College Park
11. University of Texas, Austin
13. Syracuse University, Newhouse
14. Arizona State University, Cronkite
15. University of Minnesota, Twin Cities
Awwwww...FROWN FACE :0(
I found this, guess MSU was #9, whatever.
Gourman Report 10th Ed. 1998
Top Journalism and Mass Communications Programs
1. University of Missouri-Columbia
2. Northwestern University
5. University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign
6. University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
7. University of Wisconsin-Madison
8. Ohio State University Columbus
9. Michigan State University
10. University of Southern California
Ah yes, the prestigious "Gourman Report".
So where was MSU #1 again?
you realize the universities pay for those rankings right? It is not accurate, just like the BCS poll.
Here's what Wikipedia has to say about "The Gourman Report":
The Gourman Report is Dr. Jack Gourman's ranking of undergraduate programs and professional programs in American and International Universities. It has been criticized for not disclosing criteria or ranking methods, as well as for reporting statistically impossible data, such as no ties among schools, narrow gaps in scores with no variation in gap widths, and ranks of nonexistent departments.
You can follow the citations if you like.
So are you sure MSU even has a program? That's evidently not even a criteria for the Gourman report.
Again - I'm interested as to where they were #1.
Just the "Sparton19962001" rankings?
Uh oh. You're starting to reach, lil' buddy. Is this not going well?
Your signature is eerily similar to mine... oh wait...
*...raucous laughter mingled with crazed applause, faint strains of Hail to the Victors...*
I have a small box in which to fit my text.
you told me you "had to go"...yeah, looks like you didn't have anything important to do.
Sort of OT, but, you know what was great about going to Michigan? Not having to justify my college choice by saying, "They have a good program". Everyone knows.
No one has ever picked a college and said the program is below average.
Seconded and Thirded
Take a breath and think about what you're doing. You look like a huge spank, not a worldly and successful journalism "alumnus" of MSU, when you go on another team's blog and rip that team.
State has a great journalism program, but so does Central. I chose the latter. And by the way, Michigan's journalism program is a joke.
It's hard to be a "joke" when it literally doesn't exist.
It was there when I was in school, and it was a joke. State has a great j-school, and I hate State, but facts are facts.
Is ironically funny to me.
And yes, I appreciate the irony of me saying this; given my sig.
It is a classic. Dantonio cracking on little Mikey Hart. I will bet Javon Ringer has a better NFL career, than little Mikey.
Your inferiority complex is scary (your fanbase as a whole).
Hardly, try superior to Michigan. Keep drinking the RichRod blue kool-aid, maybe you will drink away your memories of last season.
I'll bet you they are both out of the league in under 4 seasons.
But did he have a better college career?
bowls and that joke of an Alamo bowl loss to Nebraska, for Hart. 0-1 on New Year's Day and a close loss to BC in the Champs Bowl. I guess I would say advantage Hart.
Because the running back is the whole team right? Ringer had a solid 1.5 SEASONS. Hart had a solid CAREER. There's a difference. Much like a solid HISTORY is better than ONE good YEAR. Do you see the parallel?
living on the accomplishments of other programs. Since it's all about the RB and RB alone, let's talk now about Hart vs MSU and Ringer vs UM. Set...Go.
Mike Hart had over 5000 yards in his career, which was limited by injury. Ringer had one good year. Advantage Hart.
The thing that always amazed me about Dantonio mocking Hart was the fact that he would not say it to Mike's face. I would have LOVED to see him say it to Mike's face, simply for the fact that he would have gotten his ass kicked.
"He may be 5'8" but he'll still whoop your ass." -New slogan of Michigan football, past and present
I also just love Dantonio's comment in general.
Mike Hart makes a metaphor that is completely appropriate and accurate to everything that State does. Not to mention hilarious and what is Dantonio's comeback?
"Oh yeah? Oh yeah?! Well you're SHORT! Ha! Got ya good fucker."
not to mention, dantonio is supposed to be an adult and the face of a program and probably shouldnt go around trying to smack talk a college student.
But MIKEY did it first! He was mean to me, mommy! First he beat me and then called me his little brother. I'm bigger than him! I'll show him!
Earnest Macaulay Culkin voice.
HE'S A MAN! HE'S FORTY!
Actually, the best part of that whole press conference was "This isn't over" and "Pride comes before the fall." I'm surprised he didn't declare that "this" (whatever "this" is supposed to be) was over after the game last year.
An out of work financial planner who still has someone else care for his lawn?
you have nothing to do during the day, but are still too arrogant to cut and maintain your lawn. That's the M way, right?
What? Check out the punctuation in my post.
but I know at least 3 people that are out-of-work M grads that were financial planners. No biggie though, their M degree is worth something right?
What do you do? Please enlighten us all..
You called it, nice to see the M degree you attained is good for identifying the lives of people you communicate with on the internet. I am out, giggolo stuff.
don't get defensive or act surprised in the least when you come onto a UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN blog and people rip on you for shit, deserved or not. Don't expect to go and stir up a hornet's nest and not get stung...just saying.
And btw, I was reading your earlier posts. Beating us 1 year in football doesn't erase a decade of complete futility.
Does that compute or should I go get Braylon?
Can you go get him? That would make my day.
it doesn't, just be a little more humble M fans, your football program could suffer a slide like Miami, Notre Dame, Nebraska, UCLA... I am done talking smack, just wanted to fire some people up, it is a slow day at the office, oh I mean at my sugar-momma's place.
when I realized how State fans feel 4 out of every 5 years of their lives.
Slow news day in Fort Lauderdale?
in the history of Michigan football. You only have 37 straight more to win to even the series. Good luck on that.
As sad as it is to say, at least Michigan is in a position to experience a slide (Not that I think it'll happen, I fully believe in RRod). The fact remains, if MSU went 3-9 for the next 10 years no one outside the state of Michigan would notice or make much of it.
I find this hilarious... really I do... but how can you be talking about having nothing to do during the day? Do you see your huge flaw in logic here or do I need to keep going?
...O.K. I'll keep going. You are the one wasting your time talking to a bunch of Michigan fans on a Michigan board. I've read all of these posts by you, and wonder what you are getting at. You might as well talk to a brick wall.
EL has better couches than Beantown.
i love how on the internet everyone got into every college ever and always has at least three close personal friends to back up any anecdotal insult
i have three MSU friends who got caught having sex with a sheep. i said it so it must be true.
i have three ND friends who are in prison for child sexin'.
i have three OSU friends who are illiterate.
etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. and so on and so on.
but your right I have no way to prove it to you over this board. Whatever this is useless banter, you guys are right MSU is horrible and U of M is the greatest university in the world, not even Harvard can compare. Peace out. Go green.
did you just type 'peace out?'
what is this, the closing scene from "in Living Color?"
is it 1992 again?
SW1, take us out. peace out!
not sure what you nerds say.
Why did you spell Spartan wrong in your handle? Just curious.
I've been waiting for someone to say it. I didn't want to be the one.
It's a J-School joke. You wouldn't get it. They have the best J-School in the country.
Spartyon1996 was taken, so I dropped the y on accident when I was adding the 2001. Whatever...I have to go, have fun Sparty bashing.
quite a few minutes ago. I doubt you "have to go."
And actually, if you haven't noticed, there are very few posts about Sparty on this board. Notice also, much of the bashing started when you showed up. Jus' Sayin.
This thread was created by a ND fan (of all people!!) to point out that MSU had received a solid quarterback commitment. If you look at the initial beginnings of the thread it is on topic, with no bashing whatsoever. Then you arrived and the "bashing" started (more like responses to your criticism of UM). Do you see the correlation between the two?
Please ban this douchebag.
That's whats going on here. There's a language barrier between you and everyone else. That's why everything you say makes you sound like a giant douche.
your misuse of "you're" is more than a little perplexing.
I guess I'm not the only one who noticed.
I'm assuming you mean go green in the sense that we should start using less paper towels, take the stairs instead of the elevator, and bike to work. You are definitely speaking my language there.
Peace out lil bro.
I had an uncle who went to Michigan State, and now he's dead. You can't tell me that's just a coincidence!
whoops never mind
What was that?
EDIT: disregard, I suck
Sparty will continue as sparty does. they will get to 5 wins and a couple losses then crack under the pressure. when the thought of having to go to a bowl game at the end of the season sinks in, that's when they'll remember who they are.
THE DANG COACHES ARE SCREWING IT UP, THESE KIDS ARE PLAYINGGGG THEIR, AAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG. FEILD GOALS
I don't see that happening anytime soon. Their season didn't go into a tailspin after a heartbreaking loss against us in '07. I never thought that Mark Dantonio would be doing such a good job in such a short amount of time. I give him alot of credit for repairing the once strained relationship that Sparty had with the high school coaches in this state after John L. Smith pretty much blew them off during his tenure.
I never thought i would see the day a MSU roster would have four 4 star qbs.
But I imagine from the career Tony Banks had at MSU and the way he hung around in the NFL for a decadeish he probably would have been a 4* if Rivals were a fledgling start-up on Prodigy at the time or something.
you've already seen it:
Smoker, Jeff (he was an Elite 11 QB)
Stanton, Drew http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?sport=1&pr_key=845
I completely forgot about Smoker. I think UM was in on him, weren't they? Maybe?
I've been trying to figure that out....God life sucked before recruiting profiles.
But - I'm going to assume that they were as I found this:
Smoker was ranked 23rd among all college recruits by SuperPrep after playing his senior season at Manheim (Pa.) Central High. He had 30 college scholarship offers. In 2000, he became the first true freshman to start at quarterback for Michigan State since Dave Yarema in 1982.
I recall UM recruiting him, as well. Records from that era are few and far between, but I did find this:
Jeff Smoker is another sensational quarterback prospect who has a lot of great athletic skills and is a very polished leader. Smoker impressed all of us in the various summer camps. When the newly formed Manheim Touchdown Club was looking for a keynote speaker for last year’s awards banquet, several BIG-10 head coaches declined the invite. One of the Manheim Touchdown Club members was an alumna of Michigan State and he thought that he could get Coach Nick Saban to speak. Coach Saban quickly accepted the offer to speak, and then he knocked them all dead. No one in the Smoker family can remember exactly what message was delivered by Saban that night. The one thing that the Smoker family can remember and will still agree on, was that Michigan State was not even in the race for Jeff prior to the speech, but a few hours later, Michigan State was a valid contender. Smoker selected Michigan State early over Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Kentucky, and North Carolina. Smoker will help keep the Spartans at the top of the BIG-10 even after Bill Burke graduates.
Smoker, IIRC, said in his selection press conference, "I'm going to the University of Michigan....State." Then put on a MSU hat. Or something like that.
Was after his comeback in whatever year that was, I was sitting pretty close to the field and I yelled "Hey, Smoker, will you sign my crack pipe?" and he looked at me and kind of shook his head.
Immature. But I laughed.
My bad I meant three 4 stars, they have had some in the past but not in consecutive years like this.
But I go to JOURNALISM SCHOOL at MICHIGAN STATE
Isn't it ironic that someone from the "best" journalism school in the country was unable to back up his claim with a single source and then had to correct his mistake by using a disreputable source.
Good luck in journalism. You will fail, and not because every newspaper is going out of business.
It's like rain...
It's like 10,000 spoons on your cigarette break, or meeting the man of my dreams and getting a headache.
Given that, he'd fit in perfectly at Fox News.
If Boisture is a Navarre clone, it will be fun to see a mean, quick, Barwisized group of LB's, DE's, and Deathbackers teeing off on a stationary object in a green uni.
