Mini-OFAAT: Louisville Comment Count

Ace

I haven't had the chance to go through the full tape yet, but here are a few of the more memorable moments (from a Michigan standpoint) from Monday's title game. Above, obviously, is Spike Albrecht Bonanza. Hit the jump for a couple of high-flying Wolverines and some great shots from the CBS intro.

No lightboxes today because it's a small enough post. Hit 'escape' on any non-Chrome browser to stop the gifs from animating—if your browser is going slow, I recommend doing this and then right-clicking each image and opening it in a new tab/window.

"Thanks, but no thanks." — Gorgui Dieng

"You know, the underside of the rim could really use a good cleaning." — Glenn Robinson III

From the great CBS intro montage, another look at Jordan Morgan's game-sealing dunk against Syracuse.

Hardaway celebrates, well, something (same montage, so no context for this).

Burke after the Syracuse game, not the title game, which ruins the heavy-handed SYMBOLISM until this gif is totally used for that anyway.

Basketball season is OVER! Unless the topic is to discuss who is staying or going to the NBA, let it go.  The Spring Game is in two days.  We had very notable football recruits on campus last week and NO recruiting updates in over a week.  The Mens basketball team put on a hell of a show all year long and came up a little short. Congrats to them. Now lets move on. Tired of seeing highlights all week of a game we did not win.

The recruiting update is coming this afternoon—taking a while to catch up on over a week's worth of news that happened while more important things were going on. In the meantime, Brian asked me to get something up while he does his normal Thursday radio spot.

Sorry our posting schedule didn't fit your personal preference, though.

Some of us are still flying high on the basketball season. It was one hell of a season and we should never stop talking about it if ya ask me. You put a lot of hard work in to making these gifs and I think I speak for many people on this blog in saying thank you, you do awesome work. Props to you, keep up the hard work.

I doubt that I'm the only one eager to click the link to see the gifs.  Disappointed in the final result of the championship game, but not dissapointed in the 2012-2013 version of UM b-ball at all, and glad to see some highlights.  Thanks, Ace!

I know its been 20 years, as I was wearing my Webber jersey on Monday night cheering them on.  Its just still to fresh in my mind, and everytime I F5 it's something else about the Basketball game. It's like ripping off a fresh band-aid daily is all i was trying to say.  Ace you do a great job on this site.  I'm just ready to go back to talking football.  Time will heal all wounds.

This game should be celebrated in many ways. It was an instant classic. There were a breadth of great Michigan moments in it, even if the result was obviously bad. That doesn't mean we should ignore all the good that happened that night.

If it's still that raw with you (and i don't blame you if it is), might I suggest not visiting a Michigan blog? Considering it's been just 3 days since the game, how could you not expect to see something about it on this site?

And yes, many a reminder still hurts.  But in no way is the answer to shove it under the carpet. We haven't even really have a game breakdown of it yet; it's all been emotions, which, yeah, understandable.  Just like football is a year round event, so too now is basketball (not to mention the next two weeks are going to contain BIG basketball news, once we find out who's leaving and who's staying). I'm not out of my funk yet; but the site is doing it's job.

Besides, even if you only care about football now, you want the talk of basketball to keep going....you know how good a recruiting tool the last couple of weekends was for football? Not just on those days, but into the future.

*In no way meaning I feel more pain than the players, coaches, etc.  Just that it seems like a lot of fans are getting over it a lot faster than me.

The phantom foul on Burke is at the 17:05 mark, btw. Don't let Hancock's fake grimace fool you. At the very most, he was brushed, even before going into a shooting motion. There's a great still photo of it, but I don't know how to embed photos from my desktop. Btw, do .gifs cause anyone else computer to slow down and heat up? So tired of that sh*t.

jordan morgan's game sealing dunk cost me $400 because i have 9 and 6 in a block pool.

i knew that at the time, but forgot in the hysteria of a game sealing dunk in the final 4. took me about a minute to realize. can't say i was even mad.
