Mike Barwis porn is back!!!!

It is Back!!! They have started their winter strength and conditioning program and Mgoblue has some video posted. Mike gets off a classic line about throwing up in sand and he comments on Big Will. Go check it out by going to multimedia and picking the football portion and well you should know the rest. Enjoy.

The football team was getting its own new facility, yet they had to put that stupid beach in Oosterbaan b/c Barwis didn't want to have it in the new facility b/c it took away too much space.

Complete disregard and disrespect for the other teams on campus. This is one of the things that pisses me off about the new regime - their arrogance and disregard for the rest of the Michigan community.

They may not sell as many tickets, but I personally love the non-revenue sports just as much (well, actually more) than the football team. That's what the University of Michigan is supposed to be about: egalitarianism.

I don't have any inside info or anything, but maybe the sand pit's location has something to do with the fact that the new facility isn't ready yet, and the football team would like to, you know, train in the offseason. Could be space/power (no Zoltan) issues, too, but I have to admit that I'm not all that concerned about the soccer team practicing on a field that's five yards too short.

Football is more important than soccer. There. It's been said.

1. It brings in the most money. Much of the University of Michigan's revenue is based on being identified with the football team. If their on-field performance suffers, so does revenue.

2. The athletic department runs independently of the university. Therefore, it needs to create its own revenue. Like someone said above, football is the only sport that draws 100,000+ people to its stadium every time they play. No other sports draw that many people in a SEASON, with the possible exception of the basketball team. And the basketball team doesn't give a shit about Oosterbaan.

3. You don't want it to be about money? Fine. The sport of football affects more students than any other sport. How many people are on the lacrosse team? How many people are on the soccer team? Including walk-ons, there are 100 or more students on the football team. This is like a history professor with 15 students complaining that he doesn't get to use an Angell Hall auditorium with 300 seats. On top of that, the morale of the student body is affected more by how the football team is doing. Very few students are going to care if the lacrosse team beats OSU - the whole town, at least half of the state, and a decent portion of the entire country cares if Michigan beats OSU in football.

Instead of lamenting the loss of a small portion of the soccer field, figure out how to use the sandpit as an advantage in training.

Soccer players can learn how to flop in the sand just as well on the field.

How did the university pay for the new facility ? Football money. How did the university pay for the old facility? Football Money. How did the university pay for the sand pit? Probably just robbed some kids sand box. But still, if the soccer players or any other players, hell combine all of the atheletes that need the field and have their revenue buy a field.

done. soccer players buy their own field.

I was thinking exactly what you posted. And might I add one more thing. The football team helps fund the lacrosse and soccer team. It is king. It brings in the most revenue of any of the sports and in turn distributes said revenue to the rest of the sports...save BBall and Hockey. So if they need a small portion of the field to be sand then give it to them. Because they're the ones bringing home the bacon.

The comment was solely in response to blueblooded fan's comment about who brings home the bacon. It was a stupid comment and stupid rationale for justifying his side of the debate. Quite frankly, I don't give a fuck about the whole thing. But since you've got such a burr up your ass about a sandbox, I'll respond, because I find you entertaining.

You must find the analogy to have some merit, because you've essentially repeated it. Your changes are largely inconsequential. The size of the home or sandbox is irrelevant. The home is jointly held, so it doesn't matter where the sandbox was installed or how big it is, beyond the fact that it interferes with your wife's enjoyment of the property.

The only substantive change you've provided is that she now asks for money. Okay, fine. Why wouldn't she? You and she are part of the same organization. You share in both resources and expenses, because it's a marriage. The athletic department is not so different with its various sports programs. In a marriage you argue over money, who gets to use the TV, the car or any other asset, but that doesn't change your marital obligations (i.e, your wife is still entitled to some of the money). Same as in the athletics department, where the various sports organizations argue over money and resources, but ultimately there is a responsibility to all sports. It's just a question of how much of dick do you want to be. I think I know the answer in your case.

But hey, if you want to be an "I bring home the bacon" douche, go right ahead. I'm sure you will have a long and happy marriage with such sweet talk as "shut up bitch, here's a credit card. leave me the fuck alone." You are a credit to Michigan, men and husbands everywhere.

And no, I'm not a soccer player, and never have been. But thanks for playing, little one.

I'm a dick you're awesome whatever. The point still stands. Paid for by football. If they want their own, they can buy their own. Oh wait, they don't have that money. I'm guessing they don't even have the money to pay for their team to travel, or pay for scholarships. I may be wrong though. I am not the personal accountant for UofM.

I agree with you, you are a dick. But like I said, I find you entertaining. And like I also said, I don't give a fuck about the sandbox. Keep it, chuck it, whatever.

Analogy probably wasn't the best word to use in my response, because I wasn't really trying to draw a comparison between the sandbox situation and a marital situation. At least not initially. It was meant more as an illustration of the stupidity and arrogance of the "bringing home the bacon" attitude, regardless of the situation in which it's applied. Granted, the sandbox was used in the illustration, but it wasn't really the point. If anything, you took it as an analogy to the sandbox situation and ran with it, so I guess that makes it your analogy, buddy. But hey, what's it matter? It was fun, wasn't it?

In any case, your response was very enjoyable, but it's time I get some sleep. I look forward to your next response. Entertain me, kid.

Well, to be fair, you also called yourself a dick. I just agreed with you.

But for the record, when you are the one that makes derisive remarks about another sport followed up with such gems as "shut up bitch, here's a credit card. leave me the fuck alone" then you are being a dick and I will call you a dick. In the end, your remarks demonstrate a tremendous amount of immaturity that can reasonably be attributed to youth. Hence, the kid reference. If that's not true, then I just don't know what to say.

Ultimately, what you fail to see is the latent arrogance and shortsightedness in justifying the sandbox by simply saying that football brings in the money, so everyone else can shut the hell up. Everyone knows that football is the 800 pound gorilla, and that it's going to push its weight around from time to time. There's no disputing that reality.

But to justify those actions by essentially saying "it's football and it makes more money than you" is myopic. It breeds resentment and discontent that spreads throughout the organization, and ultimately makes the athletic department suffer as a whole, including football. It's simply bad management. On this, I am not wrong, because I have seen things end badly too many times when that justification is used. Find any other justification for putting that sandbox there, but don't be arrogant about it. If you can understand that, then I withdraw by dick and kid remarks.

I understand the rationale behind your analogy of "Being married," and your trying to equate that to this scenario. But your argument is flawed in the fact that in a marriage it is usually assumed that it is a partnership of equals. My wife has an equal say in what transpires in OUR home. This makes sense. However, here is where you analogy is flawed. You are making a huge assertion that the lacrosse or women's soccer team our on equal footing with the football program. When in fact, they are not. There is no merger of equals in the athletic department at UofM. My point was that Michigan football is king and consider the other sports the kings court. The king provides the funding for the lacrosse and soccer teams. So if the king wants a sandbox in a certain area that impedes an area for his court to roam in then well, they just have to get over it. That is what I am saying. Now, as you stated I really don't care about soccer and quite frankly that is the point. Most people don't care enough to support the other sports so that they can support themselves. If it were able to hold its own via revenues then I think that the sandbox would be in the new practice facilities for the football team. But seeing as it can not then it is not.

If you have to ask twice it means that you didn't get it the first time.
