Obviously this comment is a ridiculous overstatement, but remember last weekend when we collectively sold 25-30k tickets to Ohio because people didn't want to go to a game in the state of Michigan?

I think you are safe waiting until the day of the game. Though, we have a decent west coast presence and haven't played a game out there in a minute. Even assuming west coast shows up in force, remember last weekend and also the Sugar Bowl which didn't sell out in New Orleans around New Years with mountains of hope/optimism abound, so you are good waiting.

I really hope that the team is more excited than most of you are. If they have that attitude we are going to get the crap kicked out of us.

I for one like our destination. I am hoping we can build on our performance in The Game and have some momentum going into 2014!!

I finally found the link - Domino's Pizza sponspored this bowl in '89 - '90.  Gotcha Brandon!

On a positive note good for Lewan that he plays at home.  Party at his place.

Hate this outcome.....No nothing game against no nothing team in a game absolutely nobody cares about or would watch...I was planning on attending the Gator Bowl if we had gone but no way Im going to this game and I suspect many others will feel the same

Which of the the following 6 scenarios do you think is most likely? Which—if any—results in DB making staffing changes to the Offensive coaching staff?

  1. The O plays a solid game and UM wins
  2. The O plays a solid game but KSU wins.
  3. The O plays "meh" and UM wins
  4. The O plays "meh" and KSU wins.
  5. The O stinks it up (again) and UM pulls out a victory somehow.
  6. The O stinks it up (again) and KSU wins.

Yes, technically you are correct.

However, to act like DB has no say and that the call is entirely left up to Brady Hoke and that Dave Brandon couldn't make it clear that Brady Hoke's job was on the line unless he got rid of a certain OC is to display a high level of ignorance.

I have to stomach the big 12 fans all year long so I'm hopeful we stuff it down the throat of Kstate and the annoying fans of theirs. Bill Snyder is a good coach but I hope the Michigan team that shows up is the one that almost beat Ohio, minus the defensive performance.

North Dakota St handled Kansas St.

This obviously means that the Wildcats will give Michigan a harsh game.

NDSU won by three after being down in the fouth quarter and then went on to an undefeated season in which they blew out almost every opponent.  Not sure how much comfort that should give us.

K-State is actually a bit more "solid" than I expected.  They haven't lost by more than ten all year (lost by ten to Texas, OU, and Baylor; lost by four on the road to OSU).  Their biggest win was a 49-26 victory over Texas Tech on the road.  Their performance seems less subject to variation than ours, although that's not saying much.

I want to see a fun game where we blow them out. That would help given the crappy matchup.

Man, everyone seems to be so down. Hopefully, AB can deliver two games in a row and we have some hope for next year.

We need to develop D. This year's D wasn't good enough. I don't care if we only rush two yards. If the D is solid, we can win a bunch of games.

D should be our primary focus and I hope GM had enough practice to contain the bowl team to less than 200 yards. Containment and TOP should be our game.

GM -- Please show us how well the future has developed. Give us some hope for next year. I want a D that gives jitters to everyone. No more bend don't break crap. I know you had a lot of inexperienced players this year. Hopefully, they are coached up and ready to show how M plays D, D from the past.

Holy crap.

There is a lot of frustration out there in the mgoblogosphere.

I thought, before the season we'd be 8-4. Maybe 9-3. I figured we would finish 3-5 in the B1G. I was hoping for 10-2, but prepared for 7-5. Wasn't everybody???

Yes, losing is frustrating.

Yes, losing the WAY we lost (hell, WINNING the way we won) is frustrating.

Expecting improvement and having high standards is a good thing. We SHOULD hope for the best and expect improvement. But to take the step from 'Boy, frustratingly rough season' to 'We all suck and nobody should go to the bowl game unless Dave Brandon kills and eats Al Borgess at halftime' is shortsighted and silly.

I will watch. I will cheer. When dumb things happen I will boo and hiss and gnash my teeth a bit.

Then I will log in the next day and look at the recruiting and hope that another year takes them another step down the road.

The 4th or 5th year (depending on talent when taking over) should be the review.

And the road between year 1 and year 4 or 5 is rarely a straight path.

TLDR: relax. Give it another year before grabbing the pitchforks and torches.

Yea the comments here have taken a nose dive last few years. See the state of the blog front page post. Hopefully we can get back to some rational thought soon. I have renewed hope that is possible wit Brian taking a stand. Don't lose faith.

I never thought I'd be pinning for the Alamo Bowl, but jebus.  The "Copper Bowl"?  What is this, Grapes of Wrath-inspired naming conventions?  What's next, the Joad Cup?

I don't care what anyone one else says. This is the game Michigan earned, and I hope they can do well against an opponent who will be psyched to play a team with so much tradition. I also think its great that the game is not in one of the traditional locations M has repeatedly visited over the years.

In fact, next time you're there tell em to cook the traditional wings for 17 minutes. It's perfection, son. All I really wanted was a beatable team we could thump to gain some momentum going into the off-season. This is a good one for us, and I'm glad we don't have to play Gurley. That dude is an animal. How do you all feel about the B1G matchups this year? I used to feel like our league was overmatched for several years in a row, but because our perception has fallen our matchups are way more likely to go in our favor. This could actually start the swing of the B1G perception in the right direction. I hate hearing the national media piss all over the B1G every day.

I am expecting a 2-1 bowl game record under Brady Hoke. Nothing has been a cake walk for this team this year. If they play well, that will only bode well for next year. I am hoping for a lot of garbage play time. We haven't had one since game 1.

Show us something that we haven't seen the last 6 weeks. Both Def and Off have to play well, so we can dream about next year.
