Michigan Injury Report for Purdue
OUT (0% PLAY)
JT Floyd | Ankle |
Mike Jones | Leg |
Teric Jones | Knee |
Martavious Odoms | Foot |
Jared Van Slyke | Clavicle |
Mike Williams | Head |
Troy Woolfolk | Cruel Deity |
QUESTIONABLE (50% PLAY)
Jonas Mouton | Chest |
PROBABLE (75% PLAY)
Perry Dorrestein | Knee |
Fitzgerald Toussaint | Shoulder |
Nothing new in the "out" category, except a distinct lack of Fitzgerald Toussaint, who is... (gasp) probable! Perry Dorrestein and Mark Huyge have been about equally effective, so Dorrestein's status isn't a huge deal one way or the other.
The big question mark is Jonas Mouton, who has been Michigan's best (yet simultaneously worst) linebacker this season. If he can't go, expect to see more of Obi Ezeh and JB Fitzgerald, and maybe even Craig Roh playing extensively at linebacker.

Toussaint sighting? Yes please.
November 11th, 2010 at 8:15 PM ^
I'll believe it when I see it!
Interesting that MM is not on there. Hopefully ankles hold up.
November 11th, 2010 at 8:16 PM ^
Let Craig Roh be in the four point stance.

At this point, would Fitz be better off applying for a medical redshirt? He's only played two plays per my memory.
November 11th, 2010 at 8:44 PM ^
He already redshirted last year. Unless he wants to play six years of college football, he may as well play when he can.

I don't know what to make of Fitz, honestly. I can understand Minor's injury cause it was the same consistent one. But for Fitz its a new one everytime. I still dont know how he hurt his shoulder when he had 1 play where he was caught from behind (the other one he ran into endzone untouched). Anyway, just totally confused about this kid's possibilities considering what's happened so far.

he could've gotten hurt during practice. they wear pads during those too
November 11th, 2010 at 9:08 PM ^
Was hurt in practice, I believe, while simply running. Strange things can happen even without contact.
November 11th, 2010 at 9:30 PM ^
agrees with your things can happen without contact theory

True story. I broke my ankle once during a walkthrough practice before a game.
/Embarassing

JT Floyd is another example -- how soon we forget
November 11th, 2010 at 9:00 PM ^
Minor had an assortment of injuries, to an ankle, a wrist, and a shoulder.
Toussaint has just had the same two injuries.
November 11th, 2010 at 9:26 PM ^
I guess Tim, but i remember his ankle injury was the one keping him out of games. Even then, he played through some of those.
Do we actually know how he hurt his shoulder? I recall hearing about it from Rich Rod after the game (see Mon presser notes after game (http://mgoblog.com/content/rich-rodriguez-monday-presser-notes-9-27-10) that's why i thought it was a game injury.
November 11th, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
Tim do not say the evil thing about Roh at linebacker. For goodness sake children read this site sometimes. And by children I mean Greg Robinson.

Does anyone know if Fitz's knee is completely healed? It would be pretty great to see what he's capable of without a brace.

How can you make any judgements on his knee from the BG game? Two carries?
November 12th, 2010 at 9:51 AM ^
Because one of those carries was a straight 50 yard run in which he looked slow and got caught from behind.
November 12th, 2010 at 4:09 PM ^
I explained it in my first post...watch how he tip-toes through the tulips on the carries vs. BG and then watch his HS vidoes. Against BG, it looked to me like he didn't want to cut on it at all when he was hitting the hole.
November 11th, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
we beat Illinois.
November 11th, 2010 at 10:13 PM ^
Agreed
November 11th, 2010 at 9:47 PM ^
Just excited to not see Martin on there
November 11th, 2010 at 10:25 PM ^
At least we don't have Purdue's injury list. Yikes.
November 12th, 2010 at 3:14 AM ^
What about Herron playing for Mouton? When he was in at the beginning of the year he looked adequate.
Who I want at LB, in order of desirability: Mouton, Herron, JB Fitz, Mike Jones even with his broken leg, Craig Roh doing anything other than DE, Kris Frost, Me, Ezeh.
November 12th, 2010 at 8:16 AM ^
If Mouton is only 50% probable, it might be in the team's best interest to bench him completely for Saturday in order to rest him for Wisconsin and/or Ohio State.
November 12th, 2010 at 9:44 AM ^
If we're being honest, Wisky and OSU are probable losses - Mouton or no Mouton.
If Mouton is limited to the point that he's worse than Moundros or JB I'd prefer to see him sit, but I don't think he's going to be the difference in the Wisky or OSU games. If he gives us the best shot to win this Saturday I say play him. Tomorrow's our best chance at another win this season and I want the best shot at that.
November 12th, 2010 at 10:01 AM ^
with you.
While logic says that you are right, Mouton should not make or break tomorrow's game. Either we come out swinging, or we are in trouble.
On the other hand, I believe we can score against Wiscy/OSU which means that our best chance is to get big plays/turnovers against those teams on D to give ourselves a chance to outscore them. Mouton and his ability to MAKE PLAYS (some good) could give us a legitimate shot at them...but not if he aggravates an injury against the boilers.

Touissant! Yes! 30 yards per carry and a touchdown every other time he touches the ball, coming up!
I have built this guy up in my head to the point that he is the Sydd Finch of football. I'm expecting 300 yards in each of the next three games, as he leads us to shocking upsets of Ohio State and Wisconsin.
