finally the hero.  good for him.  let's not forget the effort of morgan tonite.  constantly fighting two purdue guys for rebounds.  and outplaying hammonds.

also, irvin finally gave a huge spark off of the bench after 2 or 3 poor games in a row.  still struggling on D though.

walton also needs to get his confidence back and start knocking down some shots.

My jaw is still on the floor.

I was dreading this game.  DREADING IT.  Because look at the last 4 years.  No matter how bad Purdue is, they always seem to shoot lights out against us.  Just 6 days ago, MSU went to Mackey and beat this squad by 40.  I knew we wouldn't see that team tonight.

O.K.  Nice Hollywood finish we'll remember for all time.  But no more shitty starts PLEASE!!!

Michigan really earning it this year aside from obvious reasons.  MSU has played the 3 cellar dwellers 6 times, UM only 3 times.  Against the top of conference here is how they compare (via RCMB of all places lol)

Big Ten records against the top half of the conference

Michigan 7-2
MSU 2-4

Records against the top 3 in the conference (Michigan, MSU and Wisconsin)

Michigan 3-1
MSU 0-3

Head to head

Michigan 2-0
MSU 0-2

First off, if you don't believe in 2014, get your head out of your ass.  This is the year the prophets have spoken of, those of little faith.  Believe!

Unbelievable game.  GR3 lifting Michigan on daddy's court with an unbelievably athletic (and lucky) shot.  Purdue going 100% from the line until the very last moment.  I can't even.

Story: Going into the game tonight, I knew it was a trap game.  It was away and right after a huge rivalry game, hence the probable rivalry hangover.  Scary stuff.

I go pick up my UM-MSU hockey ticket for next Friday for dirt cheap (everyone in the area should be trying to get tickets for the OSU hockey game and Minnesota and Indiana basketball games because they're cheap as hell because of spring break) at the Union and decide to get Subway because of the whole "eating healthy" thing.  Go to fish, eat dinner, and attempt to do work in the Fish.  Struggle finishing the sub (weird because I used to be able to eat 2 in a sitting) but finish it with 2 mins left to game time.  Game starts, I'm in silent agony at my computer because I'm in the fish with other people but I still can't help from fist pumping and letting out muffled yells.  We go into halftime looking not so good and the indigestion kicks in full blast.  Second half starts and I see the glimmer of hope and just stand pat.  With around 8 minutes left, I notice people behind me watching my screen so I unplug my headphones and we all start watching.  We're going crazy towards the end and the girl next to me keeps on saying that we're going to miss whatever we throw up but I politely stay quiet because fans shouldn't rage at other fans.  Slowly more and more people file in around my computer as OT starts.  Shoutout to J-Mo for keeping us in it with those dunks.  Finally, with Purdue at the free throw line, we have 25 people huddled around my big ass Mac and we have the volume blasting.  It's dead quiet, everyone staring at the screen, and dead silence.  I think we lose the ball from the inbound pass, GR3 catches it, and by some act of God he gets it to go down with time expiring.  The entire student section at Fish goes into a roar and we immediately break out into The Victors.  It's always better celebrating with other Wolverines.  Because it's 2014 and all, let's stay positive: we get down early in a trap game where our top 2 scorers are neutralized and we manage to pull the game out through toughness and grit.

I had subs.  It was crazy.  Go Blue.

I realize it wasn't, but what are the circumstances that would have made Morgan's touching the net some form of goaltending / basket interference?

Had I noticed it live, I would have been nervous for the split second of shock after the ball dropped in...

I was saying "Pull Spike out, put in Morgan and Horford with Nik, Caris and Irvin.  Have Morgan and Horford crash the boards looking for a put back from the catch and shoot.  But this was even better.

Listened to the end in my car.

Pulled in my garage, heard the last play, naturally honked a few times, fist pumped, neighbors thought something was wrong.

Old guy to the right of my house was not happy I was interrupting his CNN time. Young ppl to the left officially put their house up for sale at that moment. Party poopers.

Only thing running threw my head after my experience was where can I get a sub? I wanna go crazy.

Reminds me of the type of gutsy win a 2 or 3 seed pulls off when a 15 seed plays like its ass is on fire and nearly pulls the upset.  I hate the heartburn, but me thinks this win will pay dividends in Milwaukee...

That was an awesome play, you can see exactly how they drew it up to clear out the back corner and set a pick for GRIII to get over there alone. LeVert's pass was a little late and a little too lofty--came about an inch from being picked off and game over. High-risk play. Glad it worked.

It doesn't look like Morgan touched the rim or the net, but rather came extremely close. Good on him for quickly pulling his hand back instead of hamfistedly touching the ball or more blatantly getting his hand in the net.
