What a soap opera this has been. The kid has been a verbal to Miami for ever but won't sign his LOI with them even though his brother is on the team. Why? So now Miami could just go tell him to pound sand. I'd love to see that.
Is Miami about to drop Bryce Brown?
They stand to lose nothing by letting him choose.
Worst case scenario is he doesn't sign with Miami, which would also be the worst case scenario if they allow him to make his choice and don't "tell him to go pound sand"
This kid has acted like a pre-madonna ever since the Army All American game. Seems like to much trouble to deal with, IMO.
You win the "intensive purposes" award of the day.
At least once a week I will incorporate "pre-madonna" into my posts.
On a similar note, Deuce McAllister said on ESPN last night that he feels his career has "succeeded expectations."
My peeves are ATM Machine and hot water heater.
Kind of like BC/AD but for, 1980; JFK and Marilyn Monroe were both pre-Madonna.
I used to think that was how it was spelled too, until I saw it written out (it's prima donna, FWIW).
read the last sentence of the linked article. He is trying to figure out where he wants to spend the next 3-4 years of his life. He is NOT tyring to make you think more or less of him. I know that is probably weird to you.
I'd say he's more "Post-Madonna."
This is one of the most clever puns I have seen. At least I hope it was a pun. If it wasn't, just say it was.
Brown is a difference-maker on the field. I would save one scholly and keep recruiting him.
For that matter, even though UM was apparently never in the picture, RR should be calling him and telling him UM is still a great place to spend his next four years. You never know when a kid will suddenly develop an affinity for "snake oil."
Is the kid a diva? Probably. Would I want him on my team? In a heartbeat. You have to give a kid with that much talent a chance to mature.
I sure hope his impending seven-day liquid fast brings him "clarity" (any chance we can slip some snake oil into his "liquid"?).
This was the part I couldn't get past in the article. A 7-day liquid fast is going to help him where he should go to college?
Has David Oku signed his LOI yet?
No, neither has Orson Charles.
Go tell the best RB recruit since Reggie Bush to "pound sand." Brilliant, dumbass. In the meantime, OSU should probably tell Pryor to fuck off for making them wait so long last year. Fucking pre-madonnas. As in, before they were Madonna. Which is what Pryor and Brown are. Those pre-madonnas. Who care about where they want to attend college. But they didn't do it on the day you'd like them to, even though that day is arbitrary, so they suck balls and are malcontents and will never be team players because of this.
Carry on, dipshits.
... they should tell him to go pound what ever liquid he's going to fast on instead of sand.
I wonder how many of these people that are bitching about Brown not signing his LOI wanted Rich Rod to pull the offer from Big Will when he decommitted and then pulled his antics at the Army All-American Game?
once every week or so, and people on there were saying things like "we only want people who want to be here." It's an utter joke, just like the people who stopped wanting Terrel Pryor because "if he can't make up his mind now, how's he going to make up his mind on which WR to throw to"
While I never worried about Big Will, Big Will did de-commit. Brown didn't. Of course, there's more to the story than what we are hearing because obviously there is something that Bryce doesn't like about Miami, but Big Will didn't put on the type of theatrics that Brown is now doing with his "advisor" etc.
And exactly how much time should a kid have to make up his mind? He gave his verbal to Miami over a year ago. You telling me that in that time he hasn't been able to figure out what's best for him? Maybe it has more to do with recruiting issues such as things that aren't typically legal.
"And exactly how much time should a kid have to make up his mind?"
How ever long he needs.
"Maybe it has more to do with recruiting issues such as things that aren't typically legal."
That is quite a heavy assumption.
And exactly how much time should a kid have to make up his mind?
The NCAA allows him to mull his decision until the final enrollment date. He's entitled to every second of it. Signing day is not a requirement - it's merely the first day kids are allowed to sign.
we saved a spot for Pryor and he didn't sign with us. All part of recruiting high end players.
I understand that Shannon is a discipline guy who may want to show his team that no one player is the bigger than the team. So I see where he is coming from especially since he is a verbal commit. But I also see Brown's side and the monumental decision facing him. If he's dragging if out for attention, well that's his problem. But if he is actually just torn on what to do then let him take his time.
Huss-Your Pryor comparison doesn't hold water now dude. I bet if sweater vest knew then what he does now he would have told Pryor to "pound sand" to set a precedent. Then these guys would know better than to pull these stunts with him. Pryor was easily one of the biggest disappointments from the previous recruiting class. He was rated top in the nation.......To bad suckeyes!
You're joking. Tell everyone you're joking.
I'm thinking not...
I don't even know how to respond to this.
All I know is THANK GOD we picked up youtube sensation Sam McGuffie - I know that 1,800 yds and 30 TDs for a freshman is unreal, but hurdling Knowshon Moreno hurdling over a CMU player was just the icing on the cake.
BTW - nothing against McGuffie - the kid played his heart out and I wish him the best. Still, figured if we were living in an alternate reality, I might as well share mine from last season.
nice avatar pic.
pre-madonna can do the pregame show for the next Hyper-Bowl.*
*at one of his early press conferences the media's favorite punching bag, Rich Rodriguez pronouned hyperbole as hyper-bowl.
I had heard on the ESPN bottom line that Brown was looking at by-passing college and going straight to the CFL. I don't know if this rumor has since been dispelled, but this would seem to be right in line with this.
New picture. Pronto.
You prick. This is not funny!!! I have a system! I need to be able to scan quickly to my posts to see if someone has responded!
Identity theft is not a joke, PRR! Millions of families suffer every year! Brian!
You know, you could, like, pick a unique picture instead of picking one of the best pictures from the biggest Michigan win in recent years. At least that would be easier than trying to get everyone else who uses it to change.
I have been using the same picture since the site changed on June 30th, and it hasn't been a problem until now. Also, PRR changed his just to piss me off (even though I may be the last person on here who doesn't hate him yet). Thin ice, Promote RichRod, thin ice.
Or did you?
New guy has posted 3 times, and every single time I've thought it was WolvinLA until I saw someone complain. If someone has an avatar, I see that before the name.
Sure, it's annoying. I'm not arguing against that, unlike the people fighting for their right to post vague topics. But multiple users have picked that same avatar now (right? Or at least I thought I remembered seeing it happen multiple times now, was it the same person?). I'm just suggesting that a better solution than chasing everyone that picks the same popular picture as an avatar would be to use a picture less likely to be picked by some n00b. Which has already happened.
I'd agree. Given that WolvinLA is genial 98% of the time, I assume that some of his umbrage is for laffs.
That's not funny....MICHAEL!
it's funny to put someone's personal effects in jello.
NEWSFLASH - IT'S NOT FUNNY.
If someone doesn't tell me who did this, I'm gonna lose MY FRICKIN MIND.
Here, take this weed.
You gotta take it easy, I have had this picture as my background for the last year and merely chose it out of convenience. I had no idea you had such a claim to it. I am currently looking for a new picture and will change it once I find one I like.
Still appropriate. Thank you for understanding.
