Marvin or Latwan

In reference to the recent freep.com article by Josh Helmholdt http://www.freep.com/article/20090401/SPORTS06/90401005/1054/SPORTS06/Sa...
I pose (2) questions. How likely will it be that both Robinson and Anderson sign with UM being that their (2) of the top (10) safety prospects in the 2010 class; despite both knowing the depth and opportunity at the position? Also if you had your choice of only (1); who would it be?

My two cents would be to gain the pledge of Robinson over Anderson, but hopefully we can sign both. Granted my numbers are based purely on those reported by the major recruiting services, but I was somewhat surprised to see Robinson ranked lower by Rivals than Anderson, especially in comparing their offer sheets. Please don't berate me on the unimportance of rankings as the senior campaigns and camps will have people moving up and down the board continually as I already know and agree. All in all I'd prefer to have Robinson's stature over Anderson's and despite Robinson being reportedly slower I still feel his game will lean more towards lowering the boom on those who reach his level in the defense, and battling against taller receivers in helping out J.T. and Boubacar in the future.

They play different positions (Marvin is a Strong Safety, LaTwan is a Free Safety), and Michigan has a dire need for more good athletes in the defensive secondary.

I'm not going to say which I'd rather have if given a choice, because that's a stupid concept; they're not mutually exclusive recruits.

We look good for both of them right now, and NEED both of them. The more bodies the better, but both are really good. We're in LaTwan's top 3, and everyone knows Marvin's situation.

If I had to guess, I would say we get both of them.

Who said they're mutually exclusive? If I asked you if you'd rather have a Lamborghini or a Ferrari, would you say "I'm not going to pick, because there's no law stating I can only have one of them"?

Anyway, I'd rather have Latwan Anderson. I think we have enough strong safety types and it's easier to find solid strong safeties than free safeties. Both are playmakers, but Anderson is a guy who can roam center field, make plays on the ball, and take it to the house. That's something we've lacked, but we've had pretty good strong safeties over the last decade or so.

Anyway, Brandon Smith will still have three years of eligibility when Robinson/Anderson would get here, so that's another reason to choose Anderson first. It's a practical decision, too.

He made sure to say that no matter where he goes Michigan is still in the top 3.

He should move to AA and enroll with RM and JJ at Huron.

Sounds good to me anyway :)

Just confirmation that he's out at Ed's. No mention of Glenville (or anywhere else yet).

why OSU hasn't offered Anderson? Are they not considering him, or will evaluate him and extend an offer in the coming months? Maybe they agree more with Scout's 3* evaluation?Without getting into the debate whether he deserves to be ranked as high as he has been by Rivals, it would sound like a no brainer to offer one guy that's a solid 4*, and from your own state. Plus, I get the feeling that Latwan is dying to get that OSU offer.

It's just a hunch, not that I'm wishing so. Some of the Ohio guys that grew up loving M football have already committed, and there's others that have expressed a more determined interest. Considering his offer list, only if he grew up hating us would cause M not to be in the top 3 for now. Wanting to go to Glenville might be equivalent to a good recommendation letter for Tressel's application. We'll see how it plays out, maybe I've got the wrong impression so far.
