Marvin Robinson apparently committed to Michigan.
Marvin commits to Michigan
Scout might have have the site design capability of a wildebeest, but with Sam Webb manning their UM site, the information quality/speed can be pretty decent.
they are great at breaking news. But I still prefer the journalistic quality of Rivals' writeups.
...now have a look at what Coach Rod has done recruiting the 2010 and extend our congratulations to this point. He now has 9 verbal commits, including top rated wide receivers, quarterbacks, running backs and M-Rob at safety. While there are obvious positions of need (the D-line and linebacker positions ring true), there are a number of highly rated recruits that are on Michigan's radar with more than just passing interest (White, Henderson, Christian, Ifill, Wood, Jones, etc.)
Rich Rod is putting together what probably will be the best class in the Big Ten and one of the best in the country. Everyone should stop worrying about Paulus and recognize that he is building this team back to a dominant force. GO BLUE.
I'll definitely second that.
Well we just got another linebacker in Brandon Smith.
2010 recruit Brandon Smith?
or do you mean the redshirt freshman? I don't think Smith would preclude more LB recruiting...
I don't see any top-rated wide receivers OR running backs.
We have Michael Shaw, who will clearly go down as the greatest RB in Michigan history, amirite?
...and Stephen Hopkins will be rated high as well.
They're not, though.
He has the size for a strong safety, but we have very little depth (maybe even talent..) at free safety. Is he one or the other... or, is he slotted for the ss?
Please tell me he is a 6'2" 200+ pound ball-hawking Free Safety with speed to run anyone down...
According to ESPN:
Weight 194 lbs.
40-yd dash 4.61
Robinson is a valuable athlete that rarely comes off the field. He is one of those athletes that may not be great at any one thing but is good at everything. He has good size both in terms of height and weight. Plays multiple positions and is a very talented skilled athlete. As a safety plays the fee safety poison well and doesn't get fooled on play action passes. Intelligent center fielder that recognizes combination routes and reacts accordingly. Comes up at proper run support angles but is a little late at filling the lanes. A good and reliable tackler but sometimes leaves his feet a little early and head goes down and ends up ankle tackling.
who can "play the poison."
I am glad to get this kid in the fold. It will shape up the rest of the secondary nicely.
When I read updates about this 2010 class i bounce up and down in my chair like a kid who drank too much koolaid
I even have the red mustache, not sure where that came from
our plan to have all of the robinsons is coming to fruition
Yeah no kidding, suddenly Michigan is back to being en vogue. Kudos once again to Coach Rob and the staff for putting on the spring game/scrimmage/practice, that is/was a success that keeps getting bigger all the time. We definitely need to do that more often if not yearly.
This is fanfuckingtastic!!!!
Everyone thought that M-Rob was a silent committ, correct?
So, we get all of this retarded/bad publicity over this Paulus thing.
Who doesn't think RichRod told the kid to go public to deflect some of the attention away?
Smart move coach.
I hope you're not serious.
"Yeah, uh, Marvin? If you could commit right now, that would be great. Then ESPN will start running stories on you and this Paulus thing will just disappear. Because, you know, when the 99th best player in the country commits to a college, it becomes national news. Okay, thanks."
i can assure you, no one except for you thought richrod told him to go public to deflect paulus news
good news. just updated ma twitter page.
1) i wonder why now? what about that stupid coach of his?
2) maybe now we can stop talkoing about paulus
I'm going to check Shaq's twitter and see what he has to say about this...
When I first read this thread I read it as "Marve commits to Michigan", and all I could think was "Oh dear."
M-Rob, D-Rob and G-Rob. Thanks to you, Mrs. Robinson!
I know that was cheesy but I had to write it. Hurray for some real news!!!
Robinson said himself that Michigan wants him to play FS.
