Marcus Rush to Pull the Trigger for Michigan?

DE Marcus Rush's coach may have let the cat out of the bag in an interview with the Winston-Salem Journal this morning. When asked to speak about one of his rising Junior prospects, Coach John Rodenberg said:

"The one thing he's got is every day in practice, he's going against a kid who's going to sign with Michigan, and the other (defensive tackle) is only a junior who already has been offered by N.C. State," Rodenberg said. The senior is Marcus Rush, the junior is Jesse Hayes. "Marcus hasn't committed to Michigan," Rodenberg said. "He's either going to commit to Michigan, Virginia or Michigan State. Jesse will probably get offers from every school in the country by next year."

That definitely seems like he let the cat out of the bag. That's definitely a good thing IMHE.

but the cat might end up a Sparty or a Cavalier just as easily as a Wolverine, according to what the coach said.

That may be, but I think the coach was just trying to save his ass by saying that.

Rush is not the type of player you make room for if you have a lot of needs and a couple guys already committed at the position. I would be willing to bet a small amount of money (I'm poor) that he doesn't pick UM.

If Rush had his druthers he would commit to UM, however, it doesn't seem as if UM has a spot for him anymore with Paskorz, Wilkens and Kinard in the bag. UM might be trying to drag out his commitment just in case another scholarship opens up. Personally, I hope he doesn't b/c we need help at other positions (i.e. DT).

This kid better be pretty damn good because it is apparent that he has caused Onwukaife to go to FSU and possibly Rush to be slow played. Personally, I'm not buying into him and Kinnard right now.

That being said, it is what it is.
