Latwan seems like a longshot

for several reasons.

This guy initially talked up Michigan when his recruitment first began, but then cooled off pretty quickly. He then transferred to Glenville.

Sam Webb has always said in his RR that the key in gauging progress with him is to get him to campus and see how things roll after that. I believe he came up for a camp but didn't have much to say about M. In fact, WVU remained his leader.

It is probably right to assume that if OSU offered, he would commit. But as long as they don't, I don't see how M would suddenly shoot up all of a sudden. Nothing seems to indicate that he really liked the school or the coaches.

I'd say its more likely that WVU will shoot down. If WVU continues the regression seen from 2007 to 2008 next year then I have a feeling several of their recruits may jump ship. Stewart will be in a position of possibly being fired which also scares recruits away.

Michigan having a good year will also help in some players' recruitment's. I don't know if Latwan is one of them but there may be others who haven't payed much attention to Michigan.

There's 6-7 months till signing day. Looking too much into things right now is just stressful and useless.

I was hoping for actual, new evidence as to why would he appear to be a longshot. Instead, I was treated to one dude's conjecture. Fishsticks.

How 'bout the fact that he got back from East Lansing saying WVU and MSU were 1 and 2?

Think about that. A player goes to East Lansing with West Virginia already leading. After that visit (to East Lansing), he has West Virginia and Michigan State at the top of his list.

...Oh, and he's a student at Glenville.

Doesn't really sound like a situation that's going to end well for Michigan, does it?

I think Farnn has the right of it. Given our class, I am counting on the season to finish off our effort in style. If we tank, well then, mates, it will be grim indeed.

But if we have a strong season, if Michigan starts looking like a very attractive team, a powerhouse in the making, then players like Henderson and Latwan and Wilson and others will fall into place. I think a lot of what we are seeing is nerves about the product on the field.

For Latwan, he's going to see, IMO, a WVU meltdown, which will be scary, and an MSU slide back into the mediocre place they call home. Both those events should bode well in this case.

From the look of the comments, I'm glad I'm not the only one who went to this topic thinking there was some new article or new tidbit of information and walked away dissappointed.

Mind you, not that I'm unhappy that there is a lack of new information that says one of our recruits is going elsewhere.
