The user receiving the rep has a "User CP" and they can see the last 5 rep received and by whom. It also links to the post. Highly recommended.

However, you're really getting hurt by making it personal. Keep it to football-related comments, and try not to call people out more personally.
That said, pointless negging is kind of ridiculous, especially since it is anonymous. If you're negging folks, you should either post to justify or it should somehow be public.
Personally, I only neg on blatantly ridiculous posts or the dumb ones like "agree" "yes" and "me too."

That's why I think that there should be more transparency in the voting process. You should be able to see who negs you and on what posts. I personally DIDN'T (since I've lost my privileges now) neg people unless it was pretty egregious.
