Kevin Grady Opens The Fulmer Cup Account Comment Count

Kevin Grady mug shot:

Why? DUI. Obviously not a stellar moment in Grady's life but his first misstep; likely a short suspension and then a return to normal service. "Normal service" in this case has been three yards followed by a fumble, but hey, you recover those fumbles and it's second and seven and if you're USC that's time to play the V song.

Fulmer cup projection: one point, Michigan's first of the Rodriguez era.

Looks large. Didn't he slim down apparently? If I can surmise that he is out of shape from a mugshot thasn he will clearly lack top end speed.

It'll be interesting to see how RR deals with his first instance of a Michigan player getting into legal trouble. I suspect he'll deal with it similar to how he did at WVa (which was how, pray tell???) but probably a little bit harsher because of A) more scrutiny at M, and B) to set a precedent.

@Blueballs: As someone who has spent an inordinate amount of time on both sides of the bar I'd say he looks more ashamed than inebriated- notice he's looking down. Kinda like he knows it's gonna get out and he's screwed.

@TwoSchools: Wyoming, MI. It's near GR.

Many Rich Rod haters say he is lax in discipline, citing cases of Adam Jones and Chris Henry. Let's see how he handles it. If I was Grady, I'd be more worried about Barwis.

Clearly the camera adds 10 pds.

UMoftwoschools: What does grady do in wyoming?

I imagine his family lives there. Who doesn't get drunk and drive at family gatherings?

Not to start a stupid argument, but his family lives in Ada, and their house is within the Forest Hills Eastern School district, only about a mile from the high school.  He would have played for Forest Hills Northern (FHE did not exist yet) had he not done school of choice.  The only reason I know this is becaue I played football for FHN when Grady and EGR was running over everybody, us included.

That's the look of a kid who knows he just fucked up big time. He's pissed, but at himself. I think if he busts his ass as stays clean as a whistle he'll been given a second (and only) chance to redeem himself. But yeah, he'll be suspended for a while regardless.

But has Grady established a tendency to fumble forwards or backwards? That could have a serious effect on his playing time this fall. Did Mallett spend any time teaching him how to fumble to an athletic and quick-thinking teammate before he left?

"but hey, you recover those fumbles and it's second and seven and if you're USC that's time to play the V song." Ain't that the truth, I can't stand that damn song.

I can see Coach Rodriguez making an example out of Mr. Grady given the competition at tailback this season. I think the message that it sends, not only to the team, but to the alumni, that with the change of regime there will still be the highest standards of conduct off of the field is very important to send.

I would be suprised if he got anything more than a quarter.  This is his first offense and I think RR will turn him over to "eeeeeee" Barwis and that is worse than losing  playing time.   I really doubt "eeeeeee" Barwis will only make Grady run the stadium stairs (i.e. Adrian Arrington).  I would put money down that nothing happens again concerning Mr Grady and law enforcement.

This sucks but I'm kind of glad that I've now learned Wyoming is actually a part of Michigan and not a separate state as I had previously been mislead to believe.

In related news, Idaho isn't  a state either- it's what my grandma says after too many scotch and waters. Then she petsers me about my freshman year roommate and asks for his number.  Because I'm a bastard, I give it to her, and she calls him up and says she knows "tricks".  True story.*

*For once this is not actually a true story, it's just reason #874 why I'm going to Hell.

Grades has always had a thick-looking head (no pun intended) Don't judge Grady's fitness on a head-shot. Demand to see the "Full Body Shot"

So it's official that both Grady brothers are out of a job by 2009? Kelvin will be supplanted by the Arizona two-name transfer and, well, it's not like Kevin ever challenged for Hart's spot. He had such high expectations too...

The fact that Kevin Grady was still conscious is his most impressive performance to date. Not too good for a senior and 5 star recruit. It will be interesting to see what comes of this.
