sorry this has to be the next thing

Sam Webb confirmed that Josh Furman is currently suspended from the team this morning and an alert reader passed along the likely reason as to why after a search of the Michigan courts' open database:

If 600 East Madison sounds like a familiar address, congratulations. You have lived or currently live in South Quad. Furman is facing three charges: domestic violence, assault, and breaking and entering. He's got a trial date in two weeks. Hoke:

“Josh was suspended indefinitely from team activities as soon as we became aware of the report,” said Michigan coach Brady Hoke in a released statement. “These are serious allegations, We will allow the judicial process to run its course before making a final determination on his status with the program.”

Please refrain from using your jump to conclusions mat about the severity of these charges. Once the legal system is done with him we'll have a better picture about how serious the trouble is and how likely he is to return.

The moral of the story, as always, is never do anything after midnight.

" from an online report:

"According to attorney Gerry Mason, Furman was at a campus apartment with two women the early morning of Feb. 11 and another man was texting Furman attempting to “pick a fight.”

“Mr. Furman got up and they thought he was going to try to find the man so the two females jumped on him,” Mason said. “The only person injured was Mr. Furman, who had a dreadlock pulled out of his head

Furman went home voluntarily but the police were called because of the chaos at the other apartment, Mason said, leading to the situation and the charges.

Mason said the women tried to give him a statement exonerating Furman, but said they were referred to the police, the prosecutor, and then the victim’s rights area, who never responded to them. Finally, Mason took their statement and plans to use it in the case.

The case is going to trial, Mason said, because “The reason for it is the prosecutors don’t just dismiss cases, they want to hear from the girls.”

.”

So according to this lawyer, Furman was simply guilty of doing 2 chicks at the same time?  weird story ... seems like there would be more to it than this for the police to be involved.

Two chicks at the same time?  I guess if you are on the football team you don't need a million dollars.

CSB:

Back in undergrad I knew a dude who lived above the Pinball Pete's on South U before it burned down.  His name was "Randy" and he was borderline crazy, definitely an alcoholic, and had a globe of the Earth that could open up and was full of weed.  He always made me a bit nervous but he was friendly enough.  One night we ran into each other in the alley next to Rubbers 101 and he asks me:  "Ever do two chicks at the same time?"  "No" I say.  "I have." he said proudly.  They was nasty but I was wit'em!".

He was expected to be a special teamer, and that's about it.  The depth at safety hasn't really changed since last season, except for the departure of part-time safety Troy Woolfolk (who has been replaced by Jarrod Wilson).
