Thanks for sharing that. Gotta take advantage of those contacts when you have 'em.
Obes , are you 16?
add 4 to that
Alright, on one of the posts on the linked site the contributor claims to be 16. Not that there is anything wrong with being 16, but I just thought it would be odd if you were 16 because I almost always agree with your opinions.
I'll be visiting your site frequently in the future. However, I notice someone was missing from, what coaches do you really like, that was rather a shocker...no mention of Coach Jackson?
JJ: "Everyone's still recruiting me I think I have like 20 offers or so; coaches want me to change my mind everyday."
This really makes any criticism of RR's recruiting of people who are already "committed" to other schools look pretty naive.
It is also a compelling reason for abolition of the signing date. I think they should allow players to sign whenever they want, and that the LOI should be binding on both sides. If a team wants to take a chance on a fifteen year-old, great: let him sign; just don't yank the offer if he gets injured or doesn't turn out the way he was "supposed to."
It would save a lot of time and money for recruiting. Coaches have to keep recruiting their commits as hard as any recruit because of the way the system is right now. The only "downside" I see to this is that signing day wouldn't be such a feeding frenzy for fans like me. And that really isn't a downside at all.
JJ: "I've been throwing with Tate..."
That's not against the rules?
What the kids do on their own time is their own business I believe.
Why would it be? If they are meeting on their own time, what's the big deal?
is it true that JJ busted out a 5.32 40 at the AA combine? I knew he wasn't a burner but even that's quite slow.
He's got a 4.65 listed on rivals
Then that's obviously fact.
Never said it was fact. A 5.3 just seems extremely unlikely for a top recruit like Jeremy, especially a WR.
differently. Not saying it's fact either, just saying what Rivals is reporting.
2009 U.S. Army National Combine
San Antonio, TX
January 5, 2009
Weight: 194 pounds
40-yard dash: 5.32 seconds
Huron High School
Ann Arbor, MI
HS Class of 2010
That's a decent time for a 350 lb Tackle. I don't think major teams would even recruit him at TE with that speed. Given that Wisco, M, Florida, Texas, Stanford (and more) showed intrest/offered, that time, if accurate must be an anomaly.
I've read 4.5s and 4.6s listed as times on various sites.
in the 4.6 range. iirc his time was actully a touch faster than ricardo's. iirc
The great thing about them is their height. The both are still quite skinny. Once they get to experience Barwis and put on 20 lbs, they'll still retain their speed or even increase it. I'll take 6'4" at 220lbs running at 4.5 sec over 5'10" 180 at 4.3 sec any day of the week. They can create separation by being physical.
You would take 6'4" 220 lbs and 4.5, huh? Yeah, me too.
right in the keister
Anyone who is actually six four two-twenty better not be putting anything of theirs in my keister.
Actually, that has nothing to do with their size and weight.
May you never have a 6'4" 220 lb proctologist.
paging Dr. Fist, Dr. Harry Fist.
I wouldn't put any type of qualifier on that bro.
Why can't we have both? Putting players from both categories on the field means you end up with mismatches in who is covering them. You open up different parts of the field, spread the defense out and then exploit those openings.
I hope you realize just how unlikely it is that you would have a 6'4" WR run a legit sub 4.5 forty. The Calvin Johnsons and Randy Moss of the world are the extreme exception and not the rule. Seriously, the Barwis hype with some of you is so far from reality that it's not even funny anymore.
Considering that only a few players ran a 4.3-ish time at the *NFL* Combine, I'll take either one. IIRC, Darius Heyward-Bey had the fastest 40 time of 21- and 22-year-old elite college players after training for a couple months for that day specifically, and he ran a 4.30.
High school kids don't run 4.3's. They just don't. The sooner you (and others) get this out of your head, the sooner you'll understand that pretty much every 40 time is shortened by a tenth of a second or more. A kid who runs a "4.3" probably runs a 4.4 or a 4.5. A kid who runs a "4.5" probably runs a 4.7.
Actually, now that I really think about it, it seems that he ran a 4.4. Fake?
Seriously - breaking a 4.3 is somewhere around "Usain Bolt" territory.
Thanks for the recommendations for Chicago, I should have listened to you about the hotel though. I got a lot of useful info from you. But, the weather officially fucking sucked Sunday. No fun getting out of town in that shit at midnight w/ a RWD car.
No...weather was horrible. Where did you end up staying? What'd you do?
Stayed at the Talbot, which was ok, I just think the Affinia or Sofitel would of (sorry I'm on a RRerabegins kick) been a little better for us. The location was great though. Missed a lot of Saturday holed up in the room, so we were only really out and around on Sunday. We ate at Spiaggia, that was good, but not worth the ticket price. Tried to go to Giordano's, but couldn't find it so we ate at Pazano's(?). We hit the museum's, drove around a lot looking at architecture (I'm in the biz, sort of), and did a little shopping. We didn't get to do a lot of what we wanted to, but we'll come back in the summer.
"Missed a lot of Saturday holed up in the room"
I hope this means what I think it means.
Yeah, February isn't the best time to visit Chicago.
To both above comments.
You should of listened...
Do you think RRerabegins mistakes "of" for "have" in other uses?
Hey man, what are you ofing for dinner?
I'll need to of something for less than 20 bucks. That's all the cash I of.
I just keep laughing to myself about how he said "I type how I think", or something like that. I don't care who ya are, that's funny.
Yeah, that makes it much funnier. That means he types AND thinks retardedly. He would have been better off saying "whoops, my bad."
Nothing wrong with adverb invention.
Yeah, the Talbot never struck me as that interesting of a hotel. I used to live almost across the street (the apartment building at the corner of State and Delaware that has Starbucks in the bottom of it -- that was a Thai restaurant when I lived there). Pizano's has good sausage and I liked their thin crust, but I thought their deep dish kinda sucked. But I got the thin crust all the time since I could walk across the street from the State St entrance to my building. That "Feast" place across the street from your hotel was a wine bar called Cru (owned by the same woman - she changed the name recently to match her restaurant in my current neighborhood) that we used to go to a lot when the weather sucked, especially before they renovated out some of the charm of the place. Would of (sorry, I had to) been a good place for you and the gf to hit when it was a wine bar, too bad it just changed over recently.
And yeah, the weather was brutal this weekend. Hooray, lake effect snow and strong winds.
I hope you got the gnocchi at Spiaggia.
It should be a contest to hide the secret word (with proper usage) in all posts. You earn points when a new poster corrects your grammar. We should of started this a long time ago. Winner gets cake.
I hate it when new posters correct me. They all seem like pre-madonnas anyway.
It's not pre-madonna. Man, your dumb.
OK, but it's correct enough, for all intensive purposes.
OK - I'm leaving work now. A girl I used to date is a finalist on The Bachelor and I can't wait to see if she wins the opportunity to marry some guy she barely knows on TV. God Bless America.
I was SO waiting for an opportunity to use the "for all intensive purposes". You good for EBLOG, not PROGRAM.
Yes! I had the wild boar gnocchi, it was very good. Unfortunately, my old lady is very funny about food; she had the pork fillet, which did not suit her delicate sensibilities. We traded entrees :(
jeremy did not run at the army combine. that page is completely false and fabricated.
JJ has that one think that no coach can teach. It's called 6-4. He does not have to run fast if Tate just throws it high enough. Chances are that the DB or Safety that is on him will not be that tall so it sounds like a good mismatch.
