Jeremy Gallon Makes The Grade
Per one Jeremy Gallon's myspace page a kid named Jeremy Gallon has made his ACT score and will be on campus this fall. One w00t for the slot receiving. With Fitzgerald Toussaint good to go, the only player Michigan is waiting on is Justin Turner.
Turner still has to pass one section of the goofy Ohio exit exam, which should be formality now that he gives a crap. At least, I'd hope so. I took an equivalent back in the day and it's tough for anyone with opposable thumbs to fail those things. (Except my buddy who went to Harvard after getting a 1600 on the SAT; the state of Michigan said his writing skills were at a "novice" level.)
This is why that is schwing-worthy news:
For more, check Gallon's recruiting profile, now thankfully not wasted effort.
UPDATE: Tom flags down Gallon for a quick interview:
JEREMY: I had to get a couple points on my ACT, and I had to boost my GPA. That was it mainly.
See, this is where creepy Myspace and Facebook stalking comes in handy.
No? Still creepy? Damnit.
O-H-I-O: Because the "YMCA" wasn't gay enough.
Woo it's acceptable
O-H-I-O: Because the "YMCA" wasn't gay enough.
It is a shame that these young men [boys?] need to be so overexposed at such a young age that our access to them and their lives can so easily slip into the creepy stalker category. Recruiting is an exciting topic, in part because it extends the competition between rivals into another area; but mostly for how it speaks to the promise of big things to come.

Yea I don't really file this under "creepy stalker" at all, it was more of a sarcastic remark. He put it on his public page that anyone can see as an announcement to celebrate; certainly we can be excited about that.

I was not saying that Brian is a stalker...not in the least...but there are a lot of people who don't have any understanding of the words "boundaries" "limits" or "privacy." And it is a shame that this whole process so overexposes these young men.

This is exciting. JG is going to be a fantastic slot receiver in maize and blue. He has the hands to be a full time receiver, and has the YAC skills to take it the distance almost every time. I've seen change of direction skills like his only a handful of times. I'd like to see us get the ball in this kid's hands a lot.
For how excited we all are about Denard (and rightfully so), DR was the #35 prospect from Florida. Gallon was #31.
Yeah he has the skills to be great. This is good news.
"Me n my wife 4eva n a day" Is he married?
i was wondering that too
The kid who went to Harvard but didn't pass the MEAP writing went to Troy High didn't he? I went there and heard a story about someone who, in years past, wrote a very satirical piece that basically went over the heads of the graders and thereby he didn't pass.
lol "wang"
sorry...low blow there
lol "blow"
ah...damn
No question, Jim.
I can't blame him - the MEAP is so dumbed down of a test that it actually becomes a bit difficult.
Heck - I remember one question one the MEAP; the question was 'Which of the following breathes' - and you were given pictures of a horse, fire, rock, and tree. Given the definition of breathe from Webster (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/breathe) I could make a real argument for three of those (alright, two of them follow the broad definition it gives, the tree does when you go even broader). (But, I do remember putting horse down... I think)
holy hell. gallon is the epitome of ninja football. i wonder how rr is celebrating the good news.
i only respect other superfans
Recruiting some 3star 5'6" waterbugs to play slot receiver.
Gallon is actually one of our 4 star waterbugs. Those truly are few and far between.
I'm going to petition WC3 for a <sarcasm> tag.
Seriously dude. That run at 1:16 made me giggle with glee. And a grown ass man should never giggle.
WE ARE GOING TO BE A MACHINE.
(Just a few years later than I'd hoped)
If Kate Beckinsale is [blanking] his [blank], then yes, he may giggle.
You could have earned all 626 of your MGoPoints by talking about Kate Beckinsale, and I would still be asking for more Beckinsale.
On an unrelated topic, HOW DID YOU GET SO MCUH POINTS?!?!?!! I am filled with e-nvy

I had like 350 when the point system went live. I was expecting to lose a lot of points. Instead they almost doubled. Who knew?
Also, I just noticed your join date 8-8-2008. That was the first day of the Olympics, as 8 is a lucky(fortune?) number in Asian cultures.
I should probably stop going through your post history and giving you points...now you'll sit there and wonder if I've ever creepily done that, mwuahaha!
And yeah, I remember thinking on that date that it would be a cool day to join. I was excited for the Olympics and the debut of Rodriguez's ninja football. One went as expected, the other, not so much.

Great news. Its good knowing that all our guys should qualify, especially those who are ready to make an immediate impact.
It going to be a long month as we wait for camp to start...my excitement level is reaching fevered pitch.
On the plus side...being self employed my wife has said if I close another deal before the end of the August, I can get myself one of those high end team jerseys where they sew your your name and any number you choose onto the jersey...I am very psyched about that...she is hoping that I pick number 19 for the date our anniversary [any great players wear #19?]...I want #2 or #21...but likely it will be 19...
Its going to be a long 2 months till Sept 5...

Never expected that reference here. Beautiful!! Even if the last name doesn't quite fit! +1.
ok...this is cool...the Bently Historical Library has a database that allows you to plug in any jersey number...or a whole host of other information and...wham! you have a complete list:

I think I sense a diary post coming up...

You have Robert Brown who was an all american center and team captain back in the days of Yost. Also, there is Remy Hamilton who besides being an all american and having a sweet first name was one of the best kickers for the maize and blue.
Lastly, Stanley Knickerbocker but just because he has a great name.
Dude, take your balls out of your wife's purse, buy the fucking jersey tomorrow and choose whatever number you damn well please. 19 for your anniversary? On a football jersey? That's just gay. It's not even a real date.
I'm sorry...that really wasn't even about you.
IMHE
Given that Tom interviewed him. I would guess there is a possibility that he reads the blog. So, Mr. Gallon if you are reading this congratulations, now go beat some buckeyes down.
Congrats to Jeremy Gallon. Welcome to Ann Arbor!
