and said he had the exact same injury occur at nearly the exact same time(his was March 30th before his senior year), and that he dressed for the final 6 games of that same season, and played in the final 3 including the bowl game, but that he didn't feel 100% until the next year(his 5th year).

So, hopefully, Jake will have a similar timetable, and if so, could still help the team out at the end of this year, and be back to full bore for next year(2014), after which he'll likely be an NFL player anyway, making a medical redshirt non-essential.

How many starters have we lost for the season to ACL or broken leg either in game or during practice now the last 2 years? Countess, Fitz, Jake, who else?

How many has Sparty and Bucky lost along the same time frame?  Anyone know?

the English language only has one word which adequately addresses the range of emotions which we are all experiencing.  That word is “fuck.”  So, though it has been said many times above, let me add the following:

 Fuck, fuck, fuckity, fuck .

The best player on our Defense and most disruptive force on that side of the ball we've had in quite some time.  He was a huge difference maker.

How does Jake Ryan's situation differ from Case Keenum's? He sat out his freshman year (2006 redshirt) because Kevin Kolb was the starter at Houston (and not due to injury) and tore his ACL in the third game of what would have been his senior year in 2010, and was granted a medical redshirt. 'He was given a sixth year, which was 2011. There is no indication that he was injured his freshman year. Is a medical redshirt really off the table for Ryan?
