University of Michigan Football Injury Report

For the Illinois Game (Saturday, Oct. 31)

Out

Zac Johnson (shoulder)
David Molk (knee)

Probable (75 percent chance of playing)

Martavious Odoms (knee)

In addition, head coach Rich Rodriguez announced the game captains for the game at Illinois: running back Kevin Grady, defensive end Brandon Graham, wide receiver Greg Mathews and offensive lineman Tim McAvoy.

Odoms not playing or being limited would be a considerable loss; the other options at slot appear to be a meaningful dropoff, and Odoms had reclaimed the punt return job before the injury. Hemingway appears good to go, though, as does Warren.

Odoms is special and continues to improve. The catch vs PSU where he was injured exemplifies this issue. Now, Kelvin Grady is a very talented athlete. The drops? The coaches need to make this great athlete on this team believe he can get better. There are so many kids on this team with amazing God-given talent. Supratentorial development is the coaching staff's job and responsibility. Great coaches make great athletes better.

I am going to go out on a limb and say Minor is not 100%. Doubt he will be any better than 75% - 80% the rest of the season, seems like he has a nice game and then the following week comes back hurting more. Let's hope since he was limited in the PSU game this is one of those on games.

What do people think about the first year of RichRod's injury report? I appreciate his effort to create transparency, but I feel like it's been kind of incomplete. Maybe my expectations are wrong, but it just seems like there's always a couple of guys who are clearly dinged up who don't show up on the report.

...seems like there have been numerous occasions where players didn't even show up on the report but didn't play at all. minor's inclusion (or lack thereof) seems almost random and doesn't seem to have any correlation to him playing. he's shown up on the list and played, and not shown up and sat. weird. and kinda unenlightening.

Do you ever think that even though he's not listed on this report, Warren might not be completely healthy or anything even close? This just says that there is a 100% chance he plays, which duh, who else is gonna play corner?
