HOLY CRAP I MUST BE STOPPED
Torn between some stunning evidence and a desire not to annoy people planning their Sunday around this—of which there are probably thousands—we forge ahead. With something that is most certainly not a Wisconsin liveblog. In fact, it is the precise opposite of a Wisconsin liveblog. We are going to talk about 1950s-era Sri Lankan newspapers, and any other discussion is specifically against my wishes.
Gunmen have attacked a bus carrying the Sri Lankan cricket team on its way to play in the Pakistani city of Lahore.
At least six policemen escorting the team bus were killed, along with a driver. Seven cricketers and an assistant coach were injured.
Pakistani officials said about 12 gunmen were involved and grenades and rocket launchers have been recovered.
You win, 69% of voters who want no Minnesota liveblog. You win.

The Sri Lanka government seems to be ready to use their strategic advantage over the last Tamil rebel fighters to murder as many Tamil civilians as possible. Gods below, I hope it doesn't come to that.
Brian, it may very well be the lack of a liveblog that could save tens of thousands of people from being raped and murdered. This is a great thing you're doing. Someone call Amnesty Int'l
That's right, Dude. 100% certain.
Can there be any doubt that the absence of a liveblog by Brian is a key reason why nuclear warfare between India and Pakistan has not yet erupted?
None whatsoever
That's right, Dude. 100% certain.
I have to think the WLA is in a dark room somewhere formulating a response to this cackling with evil glee.
productivesweatpants.blogspot.com
@prodsweats
I believe they've already formulated the response, as they will most likely run a liveblog to stick it to all the people voting against having one on here.
Bingo.
....a simple live blog could have such cosmic powers and polarizing effects on the masses.
Perhaps those of you who want to liveblog should go get real friends so you can talk to them during the game instead of ruining the mojo for everyone else.
I do not have any friends who are going to take time out of their day to watch Michigan-Minnesota on an internet live stream with me.
Ah yes, the old "I have a social life so I'm cooler than you people who hang out on interwebs" being deployed by someone on the interwebs. BRILLIANT!
Perhaps you should learn to talk to your "real" friends and Liveblog at the same to. Like I do. At the bar, where I find this makes me simultaneously geeky and yet cool. Take THAT "I have a real life" guy.
Hmmm?
Twitter.
That Brian doesn't have any real friends, because he liveblogs basketball games? And he is specifically to blame for the Iowa and Wisconsin losses?
Yes.
Well how the hell did you get the beans above the frank!?
There are signs of a higher power beyond our control here, and I think it has everything to do with Brian's messianic hair stylings. The man is playing with fire. Not flicking matches fire, but burning bushes fire. Running a Michigan sports blog - which we may as well admit goes on par with religious instruction - and donning a JC look. God is not amused.
Maybe the WLA will run the liveblog? Not a lot of evidence to date that God supports the Communist left. And if He liked unicorns, wouldn't there be unicorns?

we hosted some before (and will for this game out of spite) and won, and we hosted some and lost. so i guess we don't have super powers.
great and omniscient Grand Poobah of the WLA
This admission is good enough for me. I'm sure it will be a splendid dialogue involving creatures of fantasy, Marxism and comments like "that three-ball fell like the Antonov rebels at Tambov..."
Anyway, I think I hear Brian whistling "always look on the bright side of life..." somewhere.

69
You 69% are screwing the people outside of the BTN footprint who use the liveblog as a way to keep up with the game. I was out of town during the Iowa game after the stream on justin.tv was taken down, and the liveblog was a great complement to the WTKA radio stream (even if I knew from the blog that Stu's shot was going in before I heard he was taking it).
Hail.
That's odd, the radio broadcast for me is always ahead of the live blog (because they follow on T.V.)
Check out my blog at http://friedjellywalnut.blogspot.com
69% of MGoBlog poll-takers are dumbasses. Seems about right.
How effeminate
That's right, Dude. 100% certain.
1 : having feminine qualities untypical of a man : not manly in appearance or manner
2 : marked by an unbecoming delicacy or overrefinement
I voted Coner.
not just "douchey" MGoBlog user, but now TRUSTED MGoBlog user
Apparently you were not one of us (the 69% who, of course, are right).
Why not try actually watching the game instead of typing on the keyboard thingy and staring at the little screen thingy.
Argument fallacy ad hominem: Attacking a characteristic of the source rather than addressing the substance of the argument or producing evidence.
I don't think I ever got an answer to this question so I'll ask again: Do you put actual effort into sucking at life, or is it just an innate ability?
To be fair, i thought the same thing about the usefulness of live blogs until i realized that outside the BTN footprint, most of these games aren't even on.
I can't believe I am going to say this, but woo Comcast in Chicago.
Excellence is Good
I believe that most, if not all the games, are streamed on justin.tv. The quality isn't great, but it is better than following a liveblog if you are outside of the BTN footprint.
Woo DirecTV outside the footprint.
Our helmets got wings
Coner?
Excellence is Good
The only correct answer.
Can we live blog everybody else's chances of winning the Mega Millions drawing tonight? K Thnx.
or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
The second time is happenstance.
The third time is enemy action.
The fourth time is liveblogging.
Liveblog every MSU, OSU and ND sporting event from now on.
comes great responsibility.
Has he been liveblogging almost everything the Lions have been doing for the last 50 years?
sgtwolverine.com
So does this mean that the game is an experiment on the link between liveblogs and the probability that we win?
If so, then let's stop liveblogging for the tourney as well.
Oh, and the NCAA, err.... um.... NIT too...
I've redeemed MGoPoints for valuable and exciting merchandise!
Why not liveblog the next Al Qaeda meeting? Or anything involving OSU or Notre Dame. Either way.
Perhaps Brian could bring the current financial crisis to an end by liveblogging it. THERE MUST BE A WAY TO USE THESE POWERS FOR GOOD!
