hey duz anyone know for sure if RR is doing anything to the helmets for this upcoming year most likely adding pride stickurz and getting rid of the wingz
for a second i thought this was a serious post. then i realized you were joking. you're alright sommy, hilarious post.
IS THIS SERIOUS YOU IDIOT!
Haha, jk. In all seriousness, I think we're switching helmets with Ohio State for next year.
I'm looking forward to "throwback helmet" day. Granted, we'll be at a severe disadvantage with the leather helmets, but at least we won't have to worry about getting cauliflower ear.
sam mcguff sure wouldn't be looking forward to throwback helmet day if he was still around
BLACK HELMETS FOR NIGHT GAME WOOOOOOOOOOO
plus LED contact lenses so Yvgeni won't need Photoshop to make a banner.
with lasers we need f***ing lasers on the helmets for the night game.
OMG! your so fucking stupid. Rich Rodirguez would never change the helmets. You got to be kidding me? EVERYONE would go crazy, thats our tradition you dumb fuck, THE WINNGED HELMET!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Wow. your really dumb.
JK. That was my other personality, i have schizophrenia. That was Luke talking. Its Will now.
Do you have a personality named "Gone"?
When are more players going to upgrade to the newer revolution and schutt helmets? maybe that would help reduce concussions and such.
This sounds intriguing -- what's the difference? I'm really not familiar.
They're just newer helmet designs that are supposed to reduce concussions and injuries more than the older Riddell ones.
And they look cooler
Oh man, the wings will not look so good on that.
install little yellow LEDs into the wings of the helmet itself, that way the wings glow?
eat that, phil knight
They used to have the pride stickers way back, but I don't know if Moeller or LC got rid of them.
LC ditched the atta boy stickers after a couple of years.
Carr got rid of them immediately after he became HC (1995).
Carr was the coach that got rid of the pride stickers.
Yeah, I was not a fan of the pride stickers.
i remember him saying something along the lines of 'these stickers are really f*cking gay'. and then they were gone.
I blame this sort of blasphemy on Troy Aikman. He told me that Wing Stop has the best wings in America.
Way to ruin this thread with a serious post.
But, yeah, that thought had crossed my mind when McGuffie went down with his third.
RR announced he's going to tweak the old helmets a bit so he can incorporate the new Adidas rocket packs on the back of the jersey. The three stripes are being extended further down the neck so they can be used for steering.
The wings in front will stay on the helmet, but they will be retractable -- kind of look like devil horns when they're deployed.
The athletic department has promised the helmet changes will incorporate the newest technology to maximize our team's performance on the field, but still maintain Michigan's great tradition.
Before anyone asks, Yes, when deployed, the wings will make a "schwing" sound.
"impossible is nothing" (adidas)
As a lawyer representing colleges and universities, I have heard from time to time that "better" equipment (e.g., helmets) actually makes the game more dangerous in a way - players think they can fly at people like projectiles, or pile drive their heads into the ground. The argument is that if people still wore leather helmets, they would be a little more circumspect in their play. Not that it matters because no one will go backward in the safety equipment arena. But maybe we should get rid of helmets, seat belts and airbags. Hmm.
It is true that in rugby (where players wear almost no protection at all), serious injuries tend not to occur as often as they do in our football. (It probably also helps that in rugby, you must wrap up a ballcarrier for him to be down - you can't just dive into him.)
I think it also helps that in rugby you don't have 320 pound guys squashing 180 pound guys
Helment you speak of?
