definitely an athlete that could move to other spots on both offense or defense if the receiver thing doesn't pan out. Coaches had him at Junior day-let's remember that guys, JUNIOR day- up front and personal; I'm sure he showed the coaches enough to justify taking the shot.

hey guys, first time poster here. I actually go to the same high school as Shawn, and have seen almost every football and basketball game this last year. first off, in football, this kid is crazy athletic and can jump into orbit. great hands, and better speed than he is given credit for. in basketball, he puts down some rediculous dunks and shows his agility and strength by getting into the lane at will. he is definetely a sleeper considering seaholm is not a football powerhouse, but he is definetely a great player. would not surprise me at all to see him getting some major playing time as a freshman, especially in red zone situations.

He's big and can catch. He's athletic for a guy his size, and can jump. So he's not a burner. Let's be honest, if this guy was a burner, combined with all his other attributes, he'd be a 5 star lock.

He's got a big frame. Since he'll never be our speeder deep threat, he'll put on some pounds and be a smallish TE or big over the middle type receiver. Like Tim said, he's got another year and a half until he gets to campus, where he'll redshirt. By his RS frosh season (2.5 years from now) he could very likely be an athletic 6'4" 220lb receiver - who can catch. Even if this doesn't make him a blue chip recruit, we have no one else currently on the team like that.

Is no one else a little excited?

jesus

mgoboard is an absolute fucking embarrassment. some of you guys are really pathetic...judging this kid (yes KID, he's not even a senior in high school yet) based on a 4 minute you tube video.

are there any mods for this shit? can you ban these assholes? i used to enjoy contributing here but the majority of the regulars are really disgusting people now.

if there are any rational michigan fans left feel free to drop in on uniscorn at the WLA. we can talk miiiiich without all this pussy bullshit detailing every nuance of a 17 year old's life.

cheer for the team because it's fun. don't worry about some kid you've never heard of and how he might impact your precious little ego. grow up.

There are trolls, and they are amongst us. They have been working their way in, for months, and the 18 year olds haven't noticed. As this board gets younger, it gets decidedly more fucking worse.

Sorry.

He's a kid. He wants to come to play football at Michigan. He will attend Michigan. More than 80% of the shits on this blog.

I think the word 'neg' connotes negative comments. If you blog here enough some of you just might get that. This program is not about such things. It may be a little low now, but it won't be for long. This site isn't about expressing negativity. That kind of thing is what buckeyes, or worse still what sparty does. Therefore people will 'neg' you. I rarely 'neg' anyone. It is not my thing.

I don't agree with every comment people make, but for the most part I know most people here LOVE the Michigan Wolverines! Being negative is easy. Staying positive, especially now, is the true test of being a fan of the Wolverines.

Year one in RR's tenure we heard from WV fans rip us. For a while the Michigan Nation quabbled about not getting Les Miles. Now people just complain. It is like booing, anyone can do it.

I have followed this team since I was seven years old. I'm 49 now. I grew up in Ann Arbor. I really miss it. Few of you know little, if anything about The University of Michigan or its teams, yet you have negative comments. Fewer still know Brian Cook. I can't say I do, but I love this blog site.

In a nut shell, negativity doesn't help!

I just wonder why everyone needs a fucking OPINION on a 17 year old kid with a highlight video. If he pans out, he pans out. If not, he doesn't. He's coming. Accept it. Move on.

i watched the video the first time and thought the kid looked great catching the ball in traffic but didn't have the best speed. i watched it again and noticed that every deep ball was a toss up due to the qb's arm strength. the staff saw him in person for 7 vs 7, and that's sure as hell good enough for me. go blue.

Act I, Scene 1

A Michigan fan sings the praises of Rich Rodriguez's strong track record of recruiting successes to skeptical Michigan fans and non-Michigan fans alike:

"Richard Rodriguez has a remarkable history of unearthing hidden talent. At West Virginia he took recruiting classes ranked in the 40's nationally and turned them into a BCS machine. This knack for appreciating overlooked talent has continued in Ann Arbor, where Martavious Odoms, Vincent Smith and Patrick Omameh all appear to be burgeoning stars."

Act II, Scene 1

Michigan has secured a commitment from a sleeper in-state prospect.

The same Michigan fan reacts: "OH WHAT THE FUCK????!!!!!???????!!!!!!!"

Act III, Scene 1

A Greek Chorus (WLA?): facepalm.

Until Michigan has their football identity established all comments about players is just unnecessary chatter. RR wants people who can 'play in space'. M fans are still used to the old paradigm, "three yards and a cloud of dust".

This offense will be athletic, fast, and versitile. It is like the new house I bought a couple of years ago. There are things about it I do not understand yet, but as time goes on I know all of its issues and what makes it go.

I like my new house now. I like what Michigan is becoming too. Can't you see it? It's going to be good.

RR has built teams before. Why can't he do it again, here at Michigan? At least Shawn Conway is the heaviest commit to date.

I hope to God the kid doesn't see this shit. It's bad enough his classmate has seen it. Shawn, welcome aboard! You have the opportunity to do something those ass hats could NEVER do; rock a winged helmet.

Sooooo, check out Texas' current recruiting class. 13 commits. 5 of which are rated at the same level as Conway. OMG!!! UT is going to suck!!! And Mack Brown should be fired. That's all we are talking about down here in Austin. Yeah...if you believe that...stop eating the yellow snow.

...bla bla

sounds like larry fitzgerald's recruiting profile.

i guess some people are still too stupid to understand that for recruits who don't get much regional media attention (i.e. mr conway), scout/rivals base their early ratings almost solely off of 1) OFFERS, 2) youtube.

meaning for recruits like conway, rivals/scout base their opinion off of what coaches like rich rod think.

rivals/scout has as much knowledge on conway as one of us at this moment. and we are trusting that more than the opinion of rich rod, who has seen him in person? it must suck to be stupid...

welcome to the family shawn conway
