Hello: Mike Weber

This escalated quickly. 2015 Cass Tech running back Mike Weber, who was initially slated to visit Michigan State this afternoon, committed to Michigan after deciding to visit Ann Arbor instead.

While the tide had seemingly turned in Michigan's favor after Weber had previously favored the Spartans, I don't think anybody expected a commitment to happen this quickly. Weber is the #14 running back and #115 player overall on the 247 Composite. He held offers from Michigan State, Ohio State, Miami, Nebraska, Tennessee, USC, and Wisconsin, among several others, at the time of his commitment.
The full, informative commitment post will go up tomorrow morning.

Wow, well this class probably isn't going to show up on any top 10 lists just due to its small size, but everyone is a 4* on rivals but for Runyan Jr and Andrew David (a kicker - and kicker's just aren't given 4 stars there)
There's no way Michigan's ever had a higher percent at 4 stars and up
Only Bama and USC have a better avg rating per recruit than UM right now on the 247 Composite....that's amazing given last season and all the negativity in the media/fanbase. Well done Brady and staff!
Also, I imagine it's annoying for MSU that they've been the best team in the state for 5+ years and all the best players in Michigan still would rather come here. AHAHAHA

There always has to be a contrarian.
They probably would have taken his commitment if he wanted to, but I don't think Tyriq was super high on their LB list compared to guys like Bilal and Masina.

The winning (and our lack of) only takes away 1/3 of a three prong recruiting pitch. We still have a much nicer campus and facilities, and our academics still hold a healthy edge, especially the support programs for student athletes.
Of course on the field performance probably trumps both those things, so if we don't turn it around in that dept relatively soon, all the other stuff might not matter. But, certainly, it's too early to panic.

I agree with most of you're saying but it's even more than that. I would also add that we have a much better history/tradition and a much larger nationwide fan base. Michigan is always relevent because our huge fanbase gurantees more television exposure and coverage by the both local and national media. There's a lot higher potential at Michigan especially due to our recent recruiting classes. Talent breeds more talent. Those are also huge factors in recruiting.
I would also add that we have a much better history/tradition and a much larger nationwide fan base.
But, but, but, history and tradition don't matter....! /Boom Valenti'd
FYI Sparty, history and tradition don't matter in recruiting only when you don't have any real tradition and your history is for the most part embarrassing.

to OSU, PSU, and Michigan, they climbed their mountain, time for the fall off.
I'm inclined to agree with you, but I also think that we should see all the teams in question play, you know, a game or something before we declare who is going to beat who.
Predictions at this point are premature....but wouldn't it be great to see Sparty come out after a winter of being all puffed up over themselves and completely shit the bed against the rest of the East Division?
the answer to your question is
with this onslaught of hello posts today?
Yeah!
Well, a basketball transfer and now a 4-star running back. I'd call this a good day.
Let's have a few more like this, shall we?

HUGE!
Another big pick up and it's a kid that loves Michigan. I believe we can consider that a stable of running backs.
We're starting to get back to that mid to late 80's period when Michigan was swimming in quality running backs.

It's almost like Ace doesn't want to field calls from Rivals. Disappointed in the effort here Ace.

I want to do this one justice, and a hastily written third post of the day that'll go up sometime around 11 pm isn't going to do it.
Plus, more time to collect RCMB schadenfreude.

Whereas Michigan is locking down a nice class.
You forgot to add the part about MSU having a lot of depth at tailback and Weber choosing Michigan because he wouldn't have to compete as hard for a starting spot. True story. Oh yeah, and something, something, Dantonio and Narduzzi wouldn't stroke his ego, something.
LOL Sparty logic. So awesome.

"Depth at running back at msu is stacked. He wouldn't see the playing field for two years. That is the reason folks."

Work-life balance, man
Get some. This is huge. We have a full, strong stable of runningbacks with Derrick Green, Deveon Smith, Ty Isaac, Drake Johnson, and now Mike Weber? An embarrassment of riches if I ever saw one.
Can any of them shift over to the OL?
