Hello: Jake Ryan
OH MY GOD WOULD YOU PLEASE LET US FINISH THE GOOGLE STALK ON ONE PROSPECT BEFORE COMMITTING THIS IS JUST LIKE THE LAST THREE MINUTES OF THE FRIDAY HOCKEY GAME. OK. PLZ THX.
Sleeper linebacker Jake Ryan of Cleveland St. Ignatius has committed to Michigan. Informative update coming eventually. Davion Rogers first. Video for now (RAWK):
Also standard argumentative thread about how awesome he is.
Hey: linebackers!

That hit at the one minute mark makes my teeth hurt.
Very nice.

... when I saw that, all I could think was Jake Ryan eats people.
After watching that, I really have no idea what goes into scouting and star rankings. He was aggressive, showed good form, has decent size/frame on which to build, and, well, he eats people.
Color me confused.

Kid looks like a laser guided, heat seeking missile in his highlight videos.
Appears to be a great pickup at a definate position of need.
Welcome to the family Jake.
Go Blue!

Samantha Baker will be very excited about this news, but Long Duk Dong could not be reached for comment...

Jake? Jake's my boy!!!
January 18th, 2010 at 2:40 PM ^
I love "Hello:" posts. I wish we could take 50 players, just so I could see more of them.
January 18th, 2010 at 2:53 PM ^
Doesn't it just make you feel all warm and fuzzy?
January 18th, 2010 at 3:54 PM ^
We feel warm and fuzzy while his opponents feel bruised and battered.
January 18th, 2010 at 3:20 PM ^
But then we'd have to start making "Goodbye:" posts, and that would be most unpleasant.
January 18th, 2010 at 2:42 PM ^
But were there any yards after contact allowed by Mr. Ryan? This kid knows how to wrap up.
January 18th, 2010 at 2:42 PM ^
I don't normally do an out loud "oooooohhhhhh" during these recruiting videos.
However, that was not the case with that hit around the one minute mark. Awesome de-cleat.
January 18th, 2010 at 3:26 PM ^
Me likey that hit very alot. That RB? Not so much...
January 18th, 2010 at 2:52 PM ^
What a good athlete. His feet are quick and he wraps up. Great get here! Welcome Jake!
January 18th, 2010 at 3:02 PM ^
There were about two people who even tried to block him in this whole video. Let's see what happens when somebody puts a hat on him.
Also, this kid was about eight years old when "Crawling in the Dark" came out. I guess "My Way or the Highway" by Limp Bizkit is too cutting-edge for him.
January 18th, 2010 at 3:50 PM ^
He got around a lot of blocks and also got off some of those blocks very easily. He is just a good athlete. Uses his hands and feet very well.
January 18th, 2010 at 2:53 PM ^
Also the play at 3:00 on Latwan Anderson, (remember him?) I think shows his shut-down ability against quality (D1 prospect level) opponents
January 18th, 2010 at 2:56 PM ^
Can you say Brandon Graham on Glenn Winston?
Damn, that looked like it hurt!
Looks like he has good vision and some big-hit ability.
January 18th, 2010 at 2:59 PM ^
Tip when googlestalking Jake Ryan: search for "Jake Ryan Football" instead of just "Jake Ryan," or else you'll get "See results for: cody linley" and "Also see hannah montana michael schoeffling"
January 18th, 2010 at 3:06 PM ^
Is this the informative update?
January 18th, 2010 at 3:08 PM ^
Maintains outside responsibility when facing a zone read.
Woooooo!
January 18th, 2010 at 10:35 PM ^
show this to Mouton
January 18th, 2010 at 3:17 PM ^
Wow, do I like this kid's tenacity.
I didn't know who to look for at the start of the clip but was thankful it wasn't the OLB on the first play that got rocked by the FB. haha.
Welcome aboard, Jake. Go blue, big stick.
January 18th, 2010 at 3:31 PM ^
Instincts, athleticism, and a good tackler. Yes please.
Didn't see any ball carriers going forward after contact, signs of a good fundamental tackler. Glad to have ya aboard Mr. Ryan.
January 18th, 2010 at 4:07 PM ^
I think what I like best about him is after making a big play, he doesn't have to act like a moron. He acts like he's done it before. Make a tackle and get back and do it again. I love it.
January 18th, 2010 at 4:52 PM ^
In that regard, he looks like a Michigan Man already.
January 18th, 2010 at 4:14 PM ^
I liked that even though he seemed to be favouring his hand (2:08-2:11) he was still playing hard and gang tackling...
January 18th, 2010 at 4:22 PM ^
welcome Jake, can't wait for you to plant osu quarterbacks.
January 18th, 2010 at 5:11 PM ^
He looks like a tenacious guy that is really good at form tackling, something we really need at linebacker.
January 18th, 2010 at 6:25 PM ^
Not the highest rated recruit, but seems to have a lot of potential, especially at a position of need.
At the very least, RR sure is getting his foot in the door at the top programs in OH. Next stop...Glenville?
January 18th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
Holy cow, this man can tackle. Great fundamentals, speed, and someone above said, tenacious! A linebacker is coming to Meechigan.
January 18th, 2010 at 9:24 PM ^
This kid eats QBs and RBs, wow!
January 19th, 2010 at 9:01 AM ^
his instincts for blitzing and timing the snap count. This kid will not be beaten out by a walk on. If he's already 225, he will be a monster when Barwis gets a hold of 'em... Great find, Go Blue!
