Hello: DeVeon Smith
Sam Webb is reporting that Warren (OH) Howland RB DeVeon Smith committed to Michigan today. Smith becomes the 16th member of Brady Hoke's class of 2013, and the 14th to earn a four-star rating from at least one recruiting service. It is St. Patrick's Day and the CCHA title game is in full swing, so the informative portion of this post will be coming tomorrow.
we are still accepting isaac if he commits correct?
I hate this comment so much.
+1
Smith looks like a machine.
It's you're not your. If YOU'RE going to insult some one at least do it right.
I'm impressed that he took the time to register a new account today to post that well thought out bit of wisdom.
Interesting move to say the least...
however, those who stay (or choose when offered) will be champions!
Why is this so long to Isaac? We would certainly still take him

Isaac has clearly said he is unafraid of competition.
What he says and what he does are two different things. Iv'e been following recruiting for a lot of years and usually (not always) once a position fills up recruits start losing interest. It makes it too easy for other schools to start negative recruiting about lack of playing time etc. This happens especially with top level recruits who have a lot of other great options. Having said that it makes me really respect the ones who don't care about that and really do have confidence in themselves and love the competition. I would love to be wrong in this case. Just sayin...
just seems like an overload to me.
block what I wrote all you want but it still seems logical to me.
Jdon. A lot of bloggers on this site don't like facing reality when it conflicts with their fandom. I would love for Isaac to still commit to Michigan as I'm sure you would. We just tend to agree that the odds of that happening just went down to a large degree.
But in relation to the comment by Jdon above, I don't feel like Shallman necessarily plays such a prominent role in the calculus here. He's definitely a specialty player, and I would think Isaac might recognize that.
Landing Smith may still negatively affect our odds with Isaac, though. I think you're right about that. Let's just cross our fingers for some golden nugget magic on that front. At least Isaac doesn't look like he'll end up with a conference rival (unlike Smith.)
At this point last year, we did not have a single commit. Now we have 16, with almost everyone being rated a 4 star on AT LEAST one site. This recruiting class is insane, and it will likely just become more so, and the way it will get there is by going slowly, and giving the best players time to take officials and see how great of a thing we have going in Ann Arbor.
love it. tremendous.
aboard DeVeon. DeVeon is a hell of a back. He'll be a great fit for the offense that Michigan is building.

Of our running back prospects, he could be our best fit for the offense. I've been a DeVeon fan for a long time aka before the last week when every seemed to jump aboard the wagon. He IS a fantastic addition to the class.
Ty Isaac likely doesn't have the guts to commit now
. Too bad, he should have pulled the trigger last weekend.that we can't neg you past -1.
Bob Ufer would never had said that about any kid UM was recruiting.
yes you are

You're an insult to the memory of the man whose name and image you've appropriated for your avatar.

Sorry, Bob - I guess you haven't read anything about Issac.
Hoke just keep piling them up. I can't wait to see what this team looks like after 4 or 5 years of recruiting.
Michigan Post-5 Years of Brady Hoke Golden Excrement
I tried to think of some witty reply but that picture of Chuck just frightens me too much.
Welcome to the family, DeVeon! May you have an awesome career in the winged helmet!

Is that a RealUltimatePower.net Reference?
Also DeVeon, welcome home, buddy. Make 'em pay.
Nuff said.
Edit: Ty Issac is not afraid of competition. This commit will not affect him. Welcome to a very another very fine back from Ohio.
Perfect timing Mr. Smith. St. Patrick Saturday Night.

Just like when we got Brady Hoke.
We will hear many many "Touch down, Michigan!" after you are passed the ball in the red zone!
Jackson. I know it is a high school film and a highlight film at that. Still, when I look at him run, it seems like he runs with a bit of rage.
YESSS!! I'm am so happy to see Deveon join Big Blue. With the running game Hoke and Burgess are putting together with their recruited O-line, TEs, and FB, this I-formation monster will be a huge piece to the puzzle.

Burgess came back as a coach?
but doesn't something about his running style remind you a bit of Brandon Minor? He's definitely got some Minor RAGE in him. He's probably a little more nifty on the cutbacks, but still... seems like a physical, tough North-South ballcarrier.
Very nice pickup to go with Shallman in the backfield. These are tough hombres who fit into the evolving character of the team as a bunch of dudes you'd want in a streetfight. Say, in a trash tornado, for example.
Which former U-M RB does he remind us of?
He runs a little like the A-Train.
