Hail to the Victors: In a Mailbox Soon Comment Count

Coversmall

To the mailboxes (starting next week)! These now exist! All the shipping labels are printed and we’re mailing out the Kickstarter/pre-orders starting today.

You can buy one! If you’re in Ann Arbor, STARTING TOMORROW you can walk into any Underground Printing location (including the Bo Store), [UPDATE: or Literati], and pick one up off the shelf. You can also get in on Kindle right now (that’s a slightly different version).

We’ll have them in a few more stores, and I’ll announce where when those are available. You are welcome to pester your local book dealers/grocers/etc. to carry it.

FOR KICKSTARTER BACKERS:

We just finished printing all of the mailing labels, and now it’s just a matter of stuffing books into envelopes and shipping them, but that takes several days. I actually have an order to these this year: you’re all sorted by an average of when you pledged and when you got me your address, minus a day for each dollar you contributed.

Whatever gets done today will go in the first shipment, then we’ll hopefully get the rest done next week. That means most of you should see books arriving in the mail next week. International orders will take more time, as will people who got me addresses late because we weren’t able to get your address included in the bulk order (those will go out manually after the big orders are done).

Most should thus arrive sometime in the next week, but you know how it goes: even while sending first class USPS will do things…

If that happens to you, email me.

IF YOU PRE-ORDERED:

You’ll get an email when it goes out. Should be sometime next week. The Kickstarter backers are our first priority, then you.

T-SHIRTS:

The first batch (if you got just the Italy shirt and got your order into us in time for express) has shipped. The next batch is being made slowly, but probably won’t go out for a few more weeks as we focus on getting books to people.

IF YOU KICKSTARTED AND I DON’T HAVE YOUR ADDRESS

We now have addresses for all but 32 impervious-to-email orderers of our 3,086 Kickstarter backers. I’ll post a list after the jump of those people we’re still trying to track down. You can go to this link to check your order status. I emailed everyone again this morning too.

The following backers need to get me their addresses (or confirm the old one) [UPDATED]:

Leaves for vacation on Monday morning, involving 24 hours of travel.

Sheds single tear that HttV will not be in mailbox by then.

Remembers digital copy, plugs kindle in.

The OP "We Care" pic reminds one of the good 'ol days in the USPS "Nixie" Department where all partially violated or indecipherably addressed mail went to be further violated and wrapped in plastic baggies announcing "We Care"...the other mail in nearby bins would awkwardly avert any "eye" contact and pray to the mail gods that the same fate did not befall them. Today some souless email engine just sends you a bounce-back notice highlighting that even with the "free" delivery of an electronic representation of whatever you attempted to send, you weren't even competent to string together an accurate email address before pressing 'SEND'...and the email engine knows you're a dumba$$...and you can't even blame the USPS... NEWMAN!!!

with intent to defraud?

Oh, how I've longed for this moment, Seinfeld...the day when I would have the proof I need to haul you out of your cushy lair and expose you to the light of justice as the monster that you are. A monster so vile...

Just working my way through the magazine this evening. Literally laughed out loud at the following line, "Frenzied MSU derelicts still clinging to the driftwood floating near what used to be the USS Dantonio will point to the mass attrition." That's the kind of stuff you can only get from MGoBlog. Outstanding!
