Hail To The Victors 2010 Comment Count

Brian

Apologies for the late content. My wireless card started acting funny this morning and I had to deal with drivers for the first time in a long while.

Hello. Every year I gather up a collection of the web's finest Michigan bloggers and scream and beg and plead and scream until they submit articles to me, which I lightly burnish and send to Maple Street Press, which puts it in a book which is then put on sale. Here's this year's edition:

httv2010Within:

  1. I do the usual preview of the team, this year with bonus excessive quarterback analysis.
  2. Jerry Hinnen previews the opponent schedule, except…
  3. Sam Eley, who used to run We Will Always Have Tempe, previews OSU.
  4. Johnny of RBUAS tackles Demar Dorsey, the phenomenon.
  5. Andy Reid, late of the Daily, interviews Fred Jackson about the jumbled tailback spot.
  6. Misopogon revises and publishes a version of the Decimated Defense you can send to all your friends who keep annoying you with their lack of context.
  7. Chris Brown of Smart Football goes in-depth on the 3-3-5's origins and setup; I evaluate how well Michigan's existing players will fit in their new holes.
  8. Craig Ross looks at the evolution of offense from the single wing to the spread.
  9. Michael Elkon takes a look at what actually predicts turnovers, why Michigan had two straight years of incredibly poor turnover margins, and what their prospects are for 2010.
  10. Jamiemac explores Michigan's re-entry into recruiting Ohio like mad.
  11. John Kryk surveys the history of Michigan's helmet stickers.
  12. Greg Dooley of MVictors recounts the story of Michigan Stadium's construction.
  13. And, finally, a bunch of the above others take cracks at answering the questions of the day in a Wolverine Roundtable.

It is 128 pages and $12.99. This is approximately ten cents per page, many of which have very nice pictures on them. One is even of Biff the Wolverine. If you don't purchase it, chances are you have a brain tumor which causes you to make bad decisions. Check if you have a chicken on your head and go see a doctor, but not before you purchase it. You can get it online or from bookstores across the state.

Is there still time to make the Decimated Defense pages perforated and include a postage paid envelope so we can just mail it to whoever is doing the most bitching about the last couple years?

I had my mom looking for it. She's sent it here to me in Tennessee the last two years. It's how I found Mgoblog. I was getting ready to try to figure out how to e-mail you and see what's up, but you've alleviated my fears and answered my question. thanks again. Keep up the good work.

I'm heading back to Meeechigan tomorrow for the 4th.  Brian says it's available in bookstores across the state, so will I really be able to find it in any Border's, Barnes, etc.?  Is it already on the shelves?  Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sayin it may have been me, I'm just sayin.  I Had the transaction done within about 3 minutes of reading the announcement post which I read before it had a single comment.

I LOVE me them books.  Can't wait to crack it open.

thx.

Other than my day job, which is publishing a magazine, I do a bit of hockey writing for USA Hockey and Michigan Hockey. Just journalist stenographer stuff that lets me see a bunch of free hockey (and the reason I don't chime in on Brian's hockey stuff even though I'm a huge Icers fan), but nothing like the depth in HTTV.

Honestly, I'm more proud of this than anything I've published in the past, which includes an interview with a President of the United States and a Senator from Massachusetts.

Thank you, publicly, to Brian for the opportunity.

I think he was from Connecticut, but he had a strange accent: Like a cross between Texas and Jimmy Carson. And kept squinting like the sun was in his eyes. I asked him if he needed a visor, and he said he had plenty of advisors already.

What's with the complete lack of stories about the families of Korean girlfriends showing up announced?  Sure, that might not be projecting forward to the 2010 season, but I want the hard copy of that story with more behind-the-scenes details

I'll be in A2 this weekend, and thought I'd swing by to pick up a copy if it's there - faster than waiting for it to be shipped.

I'll be buying a copy for myself, my brother-in-law, and my dad as soon as I get back to Michigan. Can't wait to read it and for the season to start. I haven't talked to him about it, but I fear my pops my be anti-RR. Mostly because he lives in the Detroit area and has a Freep subscription. He may have been unwittingly swayed to the dark side by some unscrupulous reporting. I believe HTTV 2010 can cure him of such negative thinking.
