From the Bucknuts forum and BP forums, it appears several of the Ohio players we're pursuing have had academic issues. This was a choice quote about LaTwan Anderson:
"but while this young man is quite talented he does not seem to meet the standards we offer in relationship to academics or character. Will be surprised if he gets an offer from us and I am not sure we want to extend one."
I LOLed when I read that. I wasn't aware tOSU had "standards", what with the dirty 30 and all. The rumor is that poor grades are the primary reason for his transfer to Glenville. Can anybody confirm this? Also, The BP forums state that Derrick Bryant also has academic issues. What other players that we are actively recruiting (as well as Gallon in the fold) are having academic issues?
Cornelius Jones, perhaps our top QB recruit, has had some very well documented disciplinary issues in high school. RR, the former head coach of NFL troublemakers Pacman Jones and Chris Henry, seems undeterred.
My (final question): Was this a similar trend for the Lloyd Carr era, or are our vaunted standards of character (F*ck Lion non-withstanding) and academic achievement crumbling before our very eyes?
