Frank Clark Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
No details yet as this apparently just happened but the Erie County jail's website has a log of all arrests and Frank Clark is on there:
If you are for some reason dubious that this guy who looks just like Frank Clark is Frank Clark, his DOB matches that on Frank Clark's MGoBlue bio.
When it rains it pours.

probably withhold judgement until the details are known. Sometimes arrests happen to defuse situations and are sorted out later. Hopefully this will not be as bad as it seems.
On another note, I see that the Gators fired Will Muschamp in his 4th year. Muschamp is the coach that replaced Meyer at Florida.

I originally saw this news last night, posted on Scout.com -- prior to MGoBlog's story -- by a "rookie" poster (i.e., that was his first post), so I didn't think much of it. The post didn't last long, and was taken down within minutes.
But, that same poster just submitted this:
"Just to update everyone on what I am hearing from my buddy at the jail, local pd pressed the charges and not his gf. When she called in the AM to drop the charges she was told that there was nothing she could do...not good for Frank"

Is a very painful read. Not because of what may or may not have happened, but the reaction of the denizens here. This place has seriously gone down hill, in a major way. A lot of you people should be ashamed of yourselves.

This is how people respond in the real world, but those conversations aren't usually transcribed.
The post took its usual negative turn, as a couple of people showed up to crap on college kids and call out others for being enablers or for not "getting it, man". But this happens everywhere when stuff like this breaks out, and a lack of information only breeds this behavior further. Honestly, I'm not blaming Brian for posting this because it is newsworthy, but without additional information beyond a mugshot I'm not sure there was going to be much value.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:46 PM ^
I live in the real world, and I didn't respond like this... nor do I usually. Everyone has to rush to show their moral outrage, I really think it's some kind of sick dick measuring contest. I don't know how to explain how I feel about this phenomenon that happens in these situations. I just don't like it. Lets try to get some facts before we burn Frank Clark at the stake.
If he's guilty, we can still burn him then. Don't have to do it now and find out we made a mistake. Lets assume for a second that he's innocent; how does he feel about the fanbase after this reaction?
I gotta get away from this thread, I'm going to get ragey.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:58 PM ^
I don't think it's as much burning a kid as being disappointed that a player who has already very publicly been in trouble is apparently in trouble again. I'd like to see Michigan football players staying out of jail, and I assume that's true for everyone here. Yes, he's innocent until proven guilty, and we don't know the full story. Yet one must admit it doesn't look good when your star senior linebacker, already with one felony under his belt, spends his bye weekend in jail under suspicion for another possible felony charge.
I really do hope this is all a misunderstanding or a false report, but I tend to think someone doesn't get arrested, booked, and held if nothing happened. Being rational doesn't mean continually arguing we all assume the best case scenario.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
I hadn't noticed that he was being held without bond. That does look bad. I guess we'll know soon enough.
I wasn't saying we need to assume best case scenario, just that a whole lot of people expressed that he should be done for the year, good riddance, that kind of thing. Those same people that go "FRANK CLARK!!!" in the game threads. I just don't like how quick people are to turn on their own, before getting all the information available.

You should be ashamed of yourself by picking e-fights with 19 year olds in college like WD. That exchange between you WD and a couple others was so beyond the realm of what this Blog should be.
Don't talk down to others when you are just as culpable for immature shit.

Well, durn.
For the last year or so, I've been setting the "time" on my microwave when I heat/reheat something for 11 seconds, or a multiple thereof. He's not just a shooter...let's do everything we can to help Nik.
But recently, I often started setting it for 57 seconds. Sometimes I use 47. But now, I believe I'll stick with basketball numbers.
But what only needs 3 seconds to reheat?

You'd think with all that's happened in the NFL that coaches in college would use it as a opportunity to talk to their players and educate them. I'm hoping they did at Michigan. If so, you got to wonder what it takes to get players with a history of trouble and yet a relatively bright future in the league to not let emotions get them to be stupid. I do not know the whole story. Guessing alcohol might have been part of the equation. Not suggesting that as an excuse at all.

From SBNation today:
The future of Jim Harbaugh with the San Francisco 49ers looks a little dimmer today after Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported he two sides are likely headed for divorce.
"At this point it would be a surprise if Jim Harbaugh is back with the 49ers," Rapoport claimed on NFL GameDay Morning Sunday, adding that success the rest of the season would probably have little impact on the team's decision. This echoes earlier reports that not even a Super Bowl title could extend Harbaugh's tenure in San Francisco. And according to Rapoport, the Miami Dolphins, long rumored as a potential landing spot for Harbaugh, are no longer an option. Miami's recent success apparently has convinced ownership to keep head coach Joe Philbin around and, in any case, Harbaugh is "not on the Dolphins' radar." Moreover, Harbaugh's wife does not want to leave the Bay Area, limiting the number of locations he can consider.
Accordingly, Rapoport listed the Oakland Raiders as a "real possibility" for Harbaugh. Oakland will play at least the 2015 season at the O.co Coliseum, erasing the need for Harbaugh's family to relocate. Tim Kawakami of Mercury News confirmed this, listing 49ers CEO Jed York's willingness to allow the moveand whether Mark Davis can find a suitable personnel executive as the main impediments to Harbaugh joining the Raiders.

For those wondering why Frank was near Sandusky - he may have been traveling on Route 2 if he wanted to avoid turnpike tolls to get back to Cleveland.

TL;DR version:
- There are several witnesses, including the victim's brother. There are also indirect reports from neighboring rooms regarding noises they heard.
- Clark says the victim may be pregnant.
- The victim, after testifying, did not want to press charges. However, under Ohio law, if the responding officer sees evidence of domestic violence, the officer is required to arrest the alleged attacker.
- The full 21-page report is described by the article's author as "gruesome and disturbing".

I'm at the point now where I just want the season to end. A bowl game would serve more as a punishment than a reward.

He's knee-deep in major college football program dynamics now. Csont'e York, Graham Glasgow, Brendan Gibbons, Will Hagerup and, now, Frank Clark (again apparently). Schlissel cannot permit a University affiliate program to destroy the reputation of the University. I wouldn't be surprised if President Schlissel imposes tighter scrutiny on prospective players and holds the football staff accountable. And if he doesn't, the press will.

...for what, exactly?
For bringing them to campus? Only one of the five names mentioned was recruited by the present football staff; one of the most common positive comments here about Hoke and his staff, back when it was acceptable to make positive comments, was that they seemed to be doing a very good job of vetting prospective players, at least where character issues are concerned.
For not disciplining them? Discipline was prompt and fairly strict in each case (perhaps not for Gibbons at the time of the incident, but again no one on the present football staff was here then). York, Gibbons and Glasgow never played another down; Hagerup missed a year; Glasgow's suspension was in line with standard practice around college football.
For not following them home during the bye-week weekend to make sure they didn't get themselves into trouble?

Would it matter to you how good our pass rush is with or with out him? I wouldn't care if he was the second coming of Reggie White - clearly he is a bad guy, and was given a second chance once already. I don't want to hear any "let the legal system take it's course" either. If he plays another down at Michigan I will be disgusted.

The article with details linked in the board post has a picture that shows a woman with what appears to be a scrape on her face. There is also a picture of a broken lamp. I am sure he will get kicked off the team. And properly so. Lamps aren't cheap.
