Frank Clark Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge Comment Count

Brian

No details yet as this apparently just happened but the Erie County jail's website has a log of all arrests and Frank Clark is on there:

If you are for some reason dubious that this guy who looks just like Frank Clark is Frank Clark, his DOB matches that on Frank Clark's MGoBlue bio.

When it rains it pours.

Your right they are a ten minutie trip on the freeway away. I might have exaggerated a bit, but I defenitly know people that are two towns away from where I live. If you look at other points in this thread you would learn 3 people on this night all living within proximity to where Clark went to highschool at got arrested including Clark. I'm not Shearlock freaking Holmes but I bet all three know each other. So while you can't throw a stone from glenville highschool and have it land in mentor. They are close enough that three people from the same general area could be in Sandusky at the same time and they all might know each other.

It would be one thing if this was the first time. This is the second time Clark has been arrested. Let's see here.

Stonum, Toussaint, Clark, Lewan, Glasgow, Gibbons "family issues" PR fiasco, Clark again.

Almost as many player arrests as road victories under Hoke!

Well, Gibbons transpired before Hoke even showed up, so that's irrelevant.  And the PR fiasco is as much on the AD as anyone on the team.

And yes, over 4 years Michigan had in excess of 7 players arrested or punished in some way (you forgot York and Campbell).  That's out off, I'm ballparking, 200 scholarship athletes on the football team during that time.  Some of these were serious - York, Stonum, Lewan were varying levels of dangerous transgressions - but others were, honestly, coIlege kid stuff - drinking offenses mostly, but the type of stuff that happens all the time to kids in college but because they aren't really "important" they never get posted on a blog.

And I'm not trying to be condescending, but this stuff happened under Carr, under Moeller, under everybody.  Players got into bar fights, got caught with drugs, had "incidents" with women, etc.  I'm not condoning it, but we are talking about human beings, and acting like football players (or athletes in general) should be "above" their fellow human beings is silly and naive.  Michigan and Hoke have run a clean ship, but they aren't perfect.  Nobody is.  Show me a program that is.

I have been reading all the posts and you most of you guys have failed to realize that a guy made a fucking mistake. Yeah he hit is girlfriend and that is wrong, but we don't know the whole story yet. It SEEMS that Clark was drunk and beat on his girlfriend, but we have to realize this is not just a problem with our team and Clark. This is a football problem. There are many more domestic violence cases from football players than from the other major sports (I remember hearing it on the news so it may not be true I didn't fact check). We need to understand that Clark came from a violent past and it is hard to leave your past behind you. We all no that it is not excuse, but we must also understand that he is still only 21. People make mistakes, he ultimately might have screwed up big time. You guys though are fighting like this guy is the worst person on the earth there is no reason to disown one of our own like that. Even if Frank did do it, I am still with him trying to help him, but will have to punish him on the feild.

Clark is done at Michigan. This could really hurt his NFL stock too now with their focus on DV, he's already got a strike now, who's going to draft a player that is one temper tantrum away from a lifetime ban?
I've always been ashamed of his whopping 1 game ban for a felony.

I'm confused by the reactions of "How could he do this now, before the draft/graduation/OSU game/etc?"  As if there are more and less sensible times to commit domestic violence.

I'm not going to jump to any conclusions of what he did or didn't do for the moment.  But if he is the type to hurt someone outside of a self-defense situation, then I don't think anyone should be surprised by something like timing.  Irrational violent acts don't tend to follow the calendar, and violent criminals aren't typically known for their good judgment.

I worki n child support enforcement in Grand RAPIDS, and see domestic violence on a daily basis.  I also use Vinelink when verifying whether or not an individual is incarcerated in a specific jail/prison.  VINELINK shows that Mr. Clark is still listed as being incarcerated at the Erie County jail in Ohio. I checked this out approx 9:22 a.m. 9/16/14.

Another black eye for Michigan Football.  Could Hoke be held responsible for this action? I don't think so, but how he handles Mr Clark after his release from jail, might carry some weight.

I will refrain from further comment, until all the facts are out on the table.

A little insight into Michigan misdemeanors for DV. Not sure if Ohio works the same or not. I have already had a call this morning from a police department which I handle prosecution for. Guy goes to jail last night for Domestic Violence because of a call made for a domestic disturbance. They have to take someone into custody to diffuse the situation. Girl in morning doesn't want to pursue charges, so guy is released from jail with no charges issued because you aren't going to proceed with a case with no cooperation from victim, unless their are significant injuries. Of course we don't know any facts at this time, but I would say it isn't a slam dunk he is charged at this time.

Disregard my above post as we have seen that the law in Ohio or at least this county in Ohio requires the alleged defendant to see the Judge and be held without bond. Although hearing the supposed details which had surfaced this far, charging is the right move. Injuries and witnesses can allow a case to proceed even without victim cooperation.

But how's this different then the Jameis Winston rape case? Domestic violence isn't as serious of a charge as rape yet we all say bye-bye? We don't know what happened at all, what happened to innocent until proven guilty? Along with the Jameis case, he got caught stealing crab legs, frank stole the laptop. I don't understand why Frank gets in trouble twice and is gone but Winston can run rapid without much consequence.
