Frank Clark Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge Comment Count

Brian

No details yet as this apparently just happened but the Erie County jail's website has a log of all arrests and Frank Clark is on there:

If you are for some reason dubious that this guy who looks just like Frank Clark is Frank Clark, his DOB matches that on Frank Clark's MGoBlue bio.

When it rains it pours.

This will hurt his draft stock- NFL is very concerned about image and "family friendliness" plus a person with a pattern of crime often repeats and gets suspended. Suspensions hurt, look at A. Peterson- who wants to spend $$$$ and draft positions on a time bomb?

The odd thing that first crossed my mind is how prompt this post is.
Dude must have been booked in the last two hours (11/16 date listed) and it's up on the site. I want to say something snarky like "thanks for being awake to bring us this wonderful news so immediately" but not really. More I just tried to think of a similar case. IIRC there were legal incidents (drunk driving-level) that were only discovered after hearing the player was "in the doghouse" or some such and people went searching for a reason.

I mean, bravo for having a tipster in the Erie Co. PD? Gah, this sucks.

The premiere college football blog bringing all it's talent to bear covering the bloody, disastrous, multi-car pile-up that is M football...

If a ND WR can go to NYC to bang a pornstar I'm pretty sure one could easily get to Sandusky, OH from Ann Arbor. What's that, a 2 hour drive?

He's from Cleveland...what do you mean "what is he doing?" A Cleveland kid who goes to school in Ann Arbor gets in trouble in Sandusky, OH. Your question makes it sound like he was in suburban El Paso or something.

Just wish in this case Clark was also going to bang a pornstar.

Obviously, Frank has had some troubles in the past and we don't know the circumstances that led to the current arrest.   I only have an extremely limited fan's perspective.  But, he just seemed to come across like a guy who had matured and was on a good path.  I hope this doesn't derail that and wish the best for all involved.

Thanks for putting this in the proper perspective.

Although I'm not optimistic (based on too-easy-to-make assumptions) that this will turn out well for Clark, no way am I about to pass any kind of judgement until the facts come out.  All we can do is watch and wait, then see how the University handles it.  The next move we'll hear about will probably be when our interim AD Hackett and/or Coach Hoke take appropriate action.

On the bright side, it looks like the booking date wasn't until today (Sunday). So at least we went one whole Saturday without anything bad or negative happening to Michigan football?

Not what we need at all. At least we don't have DB to screw this up more. Just own up to it and suspend him for the rest of the season/kick off the team if it can be proven that he's guilty.

I had a neighbor get in a scuffle with his brother in law on Thanksgiving once, he got charged with domestic violence because they were related. Had they not been related it would have been a simple assault charge. It still follows him around today. Ive seen firsthand his it has made switching jobs very very difficult for him for that exact reason .

simple assault is a class 5 (minor) misdemeanor, which doesn't require disclosure on applications while and domestic violence is a class two and does require disclosure in many instances, and as another poster said, those words paired together often make a hiring managers mind up for them before they bother vetting the details if the incident

the brother in law didn't want to press charges but the police said because it classifies as "domestic violence" they didn't have a choice. Had they not been related to each other, the BIL could have said not to press charges and that would have been the end of it.

Assault is a first degree misdemeanor, carrying a maximum sentence of up to 180 days of incarceration and up to a $1,000 fine. Domestic violence (as long as you don't have a prior domestic violence conviction) is also a misdemeanor of the first degree and carries the same penalties.

Main difference, at this stage, is that an assault charge is eligible for a bond right away. One charged with domestic violence must be held in jail until they see a judge.

the brother in law had been living in their basement rent free for over a year and had too much to drink and was saying some awful things to his sister(my neighbors wife) and my neighbor gave him a few chances to pipe down, but he wouldn't shut up...so a wrestling match ensued and the brother in laws gf called 911 immediately.

So, while not ideal, I think my neighbors actions were quite defensible
