I'm not sure how the lack of an official "offer" has to do with his talent. He obviously was good enough to camp at OSU, and he was on their radar until he made it clear he was going to UM. The fact they didn't send him an official offer probably speaks more to his decision to go to UM than his unworthiness to be a buckeye.

If your best passer is Terelle Pryor, you don't have a lot of faith in the forward pass.

What I find ironic here is that Terelle Pryor is a prototypical spread option QB and he is stuck in Tressel's pro set.

Consequently, the same charge that buck-head is apparently making about UM QB's being miscast is much more accurate about "his" own team right now.

I am guessing that, like most OSU fans, he is keeping his ear to the ground for the sound of UM footsteps gaining on them. Tressel stomped Carr because Carr had become predictable and outdated; USC, Florida, Texas, and LSU stomped OSU because they are predictable and outdated. RR is neither predictable nor outdated; this spells trouble for OSU and their fans.

With apologies to Yogi Berra and John Fogerty, it's like deja vu all over again.

So, buck-head: if you are still listening, good luck with "Pryor and Prayer." And remember that you are one OSU-style dirty hit to Pryor's knees from having a QB situation almost as bad as UM's was last year.

And, yeah: see ya in November.

The way RR tries to explain his system is that it plays to the strengths of the QB. So for instance, at WVU Pat White's strength was running the ball. Henceforth an awful lot of running. When he was at Tulane, although Sean King was a mobile quarterback, RR got more milage out of his arm. The system is adaptable. So if you have someone that can both run and throw I assume that RR would utilize both.

If you have to ask twice it means that you didn't get it the first time.

They make poor reads, throw a lot of INTs, and generally try to do too much. I expect plenty o' Saturday moments of horror and despair in 2009 for this reason. I fully expect the starting QB, Forcier, Robinson or Sheridan, to struggle again. I do think they will show gradual improvement as the year goes on.

The real question is whether Michigan's offensive line starts to gel and whether the running backs/slots stay health and churn out better yardage inside and on the edges. I think having Forcier and Robinson at QB will change the game completely for Michigan because opposing defenses in 2009 will finally have to account for their speed and the QB zone read keeper. They all but ignored Sheridan and Threet last year and were wise to do so. I don't think UM opponents next fall will be so fortunate. Even if Forcier and Robinson are Interception Kings of the Big Ten in 2009, they have a history of making big plays with their feet, scoring TDs and racking up yards. That's frustrating for opponents.

I'm less worried about the UM offense this year. I think we'll see major improvement over last year's abyssmal 27% 3rd down conversion rate. Not that hard to do when you think about it. I also believe Brandon Minor will have a big year as the lead back in this offense.

My concern, and the one that probably has Buckeye fans wringing their hands with glee once again, is UM's defense in all aspects, secondary, DL and LB play. Hopefully Robinson remembers his UCLA and NFL years of genius and brings them to Michigan.

Oh and special teams? Man, Michigan HAS to find a return man or two. Maybe this is Odoms. I'm sort of hoping for RS Fr. Terrance Robinson to make a comeback from hell.

about the special teams, we have not had a good return man since Breaston left. In '07 I watched every game and I never saw one return go past 20 yards. Last year we had Odoms light it up a little and a couple of other guys did well but the turnovers were so plentiful that it made the good things hard to remember. I think we will see a lot of improvement in that category. Fundamentals will usually slide when nervous or insecure. The nervousness should be gone out of Odoms and the others and holding onto the ball will be easier (I hope).

Oh how I hate Ohio State

First and foremost buckstache thank you for the reasonable question asked in a reasonable manner. I have been to other sites where all you get is smacktalking from both sides and that is very irritating. I predicted that we would win 7 or 8 last year after we lost to Utah and the year before I predicted a Nationl Championship so I am not keyed up on making predictions but I will point out certain things that you should keep in mind. Last year we had one starter return on offense, this year we have (I think) 9. Last year I could watch and see how nobody knew what they were supposed to be doing (new system and all), this year they have all had time and experience in it so they should gel better. Last year we had a tougher schedule than we do this year. We played tO$U, PSU, and ND away. All of those games are home games for us this year and I really think that will help. Last year we did not have a QB who fit the system. We had Threet who not only did not fit but had no experience. Tate and D Rob have no experience but at least they fit the system. Gerald Robinson should whip the D into better shape than Schaefer did. I really think a big part of the problem last year was that RR and Schaefer did not see eye to eye and it showed up on the field. All in all I think we will be better. I would say that we will get a descent bowl this year but probably not a BCS bowl. If we do go to a BCS bowl then Tate or D Rob must be fantastic.
