being a flat out hater, I'm just saying.
Peppers at 10, which seems low.
being a flat out hater, I'm just saying.
at people like you who think les miles turned down the Michigan job. it's pretty hard to turn down a job you weren't offered.
that people like you weren't to up on coach recruiting efforts of last year, Miles was on the Michigan campus several times before a final decision was made - sorry you're off there buddy you gotta get your facts straight.
Be more specific. Of course Miles was on the Michigan campus several times before a decision was made, he only attended school, was a football player, and an assistant coach.
Now, please tell us when you saw him on campus, or any reports that he was on campus. For some reason, I find it hard to believe that Les Miles could have flown to from LA to MI and back without attracting any attention, or having somebody wonder where the hell he was for the past 8 hours. To do that several times in the middle of a football season where he still had a shot at an SEC title and BCS Bowl game (remember everybody thought WVU over Pitt = NT game was a no brainer) is nothing short of ludicrous.
Also, he's not your buddy, friend.
Please learn to discern what people where saying. When I said he was seen on campus, try to remember what was said by the respondent before interjecting your response. He implied that Miles wasn't even considering the job. so my response was [basically] if he wasn't. Why was he seen on campus? And I was being congenial... something we could all use to be, lol.
you're not doing much of it either......I dont thinnk he implied he was not considered for the job......i think he said, how could he turn the job down if he was never formally offered the job.
And, there were zero confirmed reports of his ever being on campus last year during the search process......why cling to that "fact."
Please share, when and where was he on campus last Nov/Dec?!?!
Or, are you going to keep using it to build up your straw man arguments.
hey 'durn wolfie... 1) you crack on someone for "not being up on" their UM street cred, then later spout off about someone's comments attacking yours because "we don't know you." If you'd been around longer than 9 days you'd know that MGoObes has a pretty good freakin' idea what he saying. 2) name dropping sucks 3) you assume this is a bunch of guys who need to "get a life"; many here have deeper connections to players/the program than you'd ever dream about. 4) you bitch twice about people being hostile - well, post something intelligible about football, and in support of UM and maybe they will be (p.s. intelligible about FOOTBALL, not just romance novel fluff about coffee and cigars)
1. How do you know that Miles was formally offered the job?
2. How do you know that Miles was on campus several times during the coaching search?
3. How can you trust one man you don't know more than another man you don't know?
4. Do you not trust RR because he is not a "Michigan Man" and because pundits and opposing fans say "don't trust him!!!!"?
5. Do you really think that saying you almost played for UM makes you a football expert?
6. Do you not know that every UM fan hates Andy Moeller and that mentioning him completely ruins your credibility?
7. Do you actually know Les Miles personally?
If you can't answer these questions, then don't continue to defend yourself.
and then it will sort settle your own arguements before you even get started.
1. How do you know that Miles was formally offered the job?
That wasn't a question I raised, he was in consideration... that's all he needed to be. So the statement now can be: They offered the position to who would take it,and that seems to be the reality. You know how many Steve Spurrier nuts were on this blog last year clammouring for him, and that wasn't gonna happen. Miles and Rod... different situations. I never comments on the who or what... just that it was a cheap shot from ESPN. I dont' need to know Les Miles, and how is that releveant anyway? You are completely misunderstanding the context of the post.
Lastly, I am not concerned with who likes or dislikes Andy Moeller, what did that have to do with the price of tea in China? But specifically does lend quite a bit to credibility to who I know and where my cirecle of knowledge lies - though I never sought affirmation from you - and need dont' need it from you either, particularly if you can't even understand context.
You mentioned knowing Moeller to try to give yourself credibility,
which makes no sense. Watch: "I know Tom Brady so I know a lot about
football." See how that doesn't work?
You said Miles was on campus. That is factually wrong. You said he was offered the job. That was wrong.
you know what people who answer questions with another question are?
They are uninformed and trying to cover for their lack of knowledge.
Please stop writing for awhile.
Fielding Yost wouldn't have done shit with this roster we have. You're delusional and archaic. Wake up: This team was a 6 or 7 win team at best this year no matter who was coaching. We have the most inexperienced offense in the country, and that has nothing to do with RichRod. It was the end result of any coach taking over this team. How is our lack of depth on him, you dimwit? Oh wait. Erosion of family values. He made Boren leave and Mitchell missed his gameday 3for5 deals at Hungry Howies. We'd be 3-0 if we just lined up in good ol' fashioned I-formation. Fuck RichRod!
Now, your best running backs and a little-known kid from Pahokee pacing your WR corps - that's all him. As are your top freshmen OL backups right now. You brag about Miles recruiting at a place he doesn't even need to try to recruit at, while ignoring RichRod's superior efforts in just 8 months at Michigan in the process of changing an entire culture of "We're Michigan" bullshit.
But by all means, continue distrusting RichRod and championing the monkey on the sidelines for LSU.
A little angry aren't we? Did you actually read the article? You're replies are completely disarticulated from the main theme or context of the article.
Nevermind. Huss rocks.
we r the number six class according to rivals. we r being mentioned by alot of the top guys as being in their top five. we got a great defensive end away from usc. and we will prolly be getting the top safety recruit in next years class from florida. we hav a good pipeline building in both cass tech and pahokee. all is well. ESPN is usually known for being full of shit. and dont forget, rich rod is one hell of a coach as evidenced by how bad WVA is playing right now without him
I was said. We aren't too deep, and there is no avoiding it. Being a realist [which is all I was saying] we have two more years of maybe 7-5 -8-4 type seasons until we get our wind under this spread offence and find talent that looks like it will work. I am impressed with what I see in Shavodrick Beaver, he is quick... athletic, and able to roll with the pocket. He'll integrate well into the Michigan spread. I am not hating but keepin' it real as they say.
We will be better than 8-4 next year.
But where I come from, we call that 'talking out of your ass.'
There's a simple rule to posting on these kind of places and hoping to gather any sort of respect or credibility: DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT make claims to facts that you cannot link, support or otherwise prove. AKA when the hell was Les on campus to interview for the job?? I could've sworn he was a little busy putting together a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP season, but I guess that's just me.
Second of all, there's another simple rule for being a Michigan fan, a REAL Michigan fan-- IF YOU'RE NOT SUPPORTING THE PROGRAM, YOU'RE ATTACKING IT. Showing doubt and crying about lack of faith, well, as far as I'm concerned, is for the horse's asses in the horseshoe. RICH IS OUR COACH-- STAND BEHIND HIM or TURN IN YOUR BLOCK M.
Here's a rule to grow by. Get a life... for real. And learn to read the thread instead of partial responses then go on a rant. Don't' ever question the loyalty and knowledge of someone you don't' know, because you never know who they are. I went to Michigan, I attended high school with Gary Moeller's son Andy, we were in the same graduating class. I was going to red-shirt the team but ended up missing 6 weeks of school due to pnuemonia... so kindly tuck your pie pan deep Michiganism somewhere will you. True fans keep it real, and that means telling it like it is sometimes. But you wouldn't know anything about that would you. Don't ever dare attempt to consul me on your remedial definitions of fandom. I respect your being a fan but but be smart, your comments were not.
Hail to the victors valiant...
Bill Martin should have known that recruiting would have been shot regardless of who he hired, and should have given a chance to all feasible candidates to have finished their bowl games (Les Miles, Steve Sarkisian, etc.). We may very well have ended up with Rich Rod if this happened, but it would have been nice to see us not panic. As far as Les staying at LSU, he would be a moron to leave that program, since he has great talent, plays in a much better conference and has already won a national title.
I don't think that having the number 9 class in the nation according to Rivals counts as having our recruiting class shot. While I certainly wouldn't have minded getting Les Miles, I think that the way it turned out was pretty good.
Well, I will say this. The Athletic department did it to themselves, they should have replaced Carr three years ago after loosing to OSU in the Rose Bowl. Our recruiting efforts were hindered even back then. But I think things will eventually be ok, I just don't know enough about Rod to trust much deeper. - so, like I said before ... this is where faith comes in.
"Well, I will say this. The Athletic department did it to themselves,
they should have replaced Carr three years ago after loosing to OSU in
the Rose Bowl. Our recruiting efforts were hindered even back then."
2008: 10th 6th
2007: 12th 10th
2006: 13th t9th
2005: 6th 2nd
2004: 5th 5th
2003: 17th 8th
2002: 16th 19th
Also, when did we "loose" to OSU in the Rose Bowl?
"Bill Martin should have known that recruiting would have been shot regardless of who he hired"
except this didn't happen
Is it just me or has a large percentage of Michigan fans been hiding in a massive cave somewhere until recently?
I'd try to criticize the post, but I have virtually no idea what you're trying to say, aside from the dig at RR at the end.
Well, let's try and see where this is coming from. It reads like a screed from someone who has been reading too much Free Republic echo-chamber political "analysis," and has decided to adopt the same style in the sport arena. Some small town Republican in a Blue State, maybe, who thinks he's going to come and show the liberal masses on MGoBlog where they have gone wrong by asserting "facts" that can't be proven, like Les Miles's alleged visit (with his wife, to look at real estate).
Push-polling the idea that we should be upset by the RichRod hire because we blew it with Les Miles isn't going to work here. First off, I know Tucker Eskew and sir, you are not Tucker Eskew. Second, the readership of this blog is too-well informed to fall for it.
You guys here are liberals? Crap, can I withdraw my rush application?
A bunch of these guys are from the Wolverine Liberation Army. "Liberation" has the same root as "Liberal" so they must hate America. That, and being Communists and all.
There was no dig at RR, learn the word nuance... I expressed concern that wasn't confident in what I know of the man. How is that a dig?
Miles's current employer had the inside track on the guy. It's silly to to look back on us not getting Miles like it's some kind of screw up.
Initially reading this i thought it would be a pretty good post. what a letdown. All judgement on michigan should be reserved 1 year. I really don't understand why people outside of our program (i.e. ESPN) are so quick to criticize us, let alone people (including fans like ourselves) within the program would judge richrod already. I understand people outside of the program just wanting to take a hack at michigan b/c for so long the opportunity never presented itself but our own fans, why?
And to say that Les Miles was on campus is a lie. I know many, many people within the program (athletic department staff, former players who knew Les, etc) and none of them had ever said Les was on campus. It would've been virtually impossible for him to have made it to Ann Arbor, particularly not being seen by anyone nonetheless. While a lot of the older guys in the program really wanted Les, and he also wanted to come, it just didn't work out for a # of reasons. But honestly, who cares?
Richrod is a great coach. Right now he doesn't have the resources necessary to win 9, 10, 11 games a season. But he will and is building towards that. Get an account with scout or rivals to confirm that. He has been recruiting real well and things will get better. This season is a low point; a transitional phase. Realize that and be rationale in your judgement of the program. Any true fan will support richrod and our program regardless of what the current state of affairs are. I believe richrod when he says we will return to glory. It's only a matter of time. GO BLUE.
It seems like a lot of UM fans (judging from other boards) have had
whismical nostalgic thoughts of Les Miles this weekend. That's fine. He
is a damn good coach, a Michigan man still, and could very well have
been ours. Howeva....
-He's not our coach.
-He will NOT be our coach in the foreseeable future.
nothing you can do to change that and nothing the Athletic Dept. can do
about it even if they wanted to. Thus, what we or anybody thinks about
this is irrelevant.
-Hence, what's the point of starting a thread reminiscing about him other than talking to yourself out loud?
do however disagree that "true" Michigan fans must always suppport and
never criticize the program. Depends on what you mean by "program". I
always have and always will support UM. That does not mean that I was
not VERY VERY critical of Carr, Herman, Martin, and co. over the last
years. It all hinges on being rational. No rationale human being can
rightfully criticize RR justy yet given the facts: (1) completely new
offense, (2) completely new program philosophy (dont underestimate
this), (3) lack of experienced players, (4) lack of good players among
the experienced ones, and (5) only four weeks inro his first season.
Give him a chance before making judgmnents. Carr was fair game because
he had plenty (maybe too many) chance, RR should get his.
Completely agree. In fact, the "UM, love it or leave it" mantra by some here is just as distasteful as reading people making assertions that aren't grounded in fact. The writer if this blog has been free with his criticisms and no one questions his fandom. As for me, Miles now is irrelevant and not worth discussing, and I think a proper attitude toward RR is wait and see--I hope he succeeds but do not know it, only time will tell.
took owr jaaaaaaaabbbbbsssss!!!!!!!!!!!
"-Hence, what's the point of starting a thread reminiscing about him other than talking to yourself out loud? "
Though I understand your overall post, you must not have gathered the basic context nor the title of the artible. I was citing ESPN's lack of sensitivity to make such a brain dead comment. I didnt' go into analysis... so I didnt' need a "deeper" reason. My final comments on RR was hey I don't know enough of his successes that I have personally cared enough to investigate, but I do know what WV has done under him... but at 60-26 record is nothign to throw caution to the wind with. That was my point.. I dont' dislike him, he's done nothing to me... I never quiestioned this Michigan Man image.. which I thinkis all BS, there are traditions to adhere to that are mutually beneficial, and there are loosing traditions. We needed to sever ties with all loosing traditions and stick to what brings the glory back to the michigan name.
Hail to the victors valiant!
Michigan lost to OSU in the Rose Bowl? I must have had a really bad hangover that New Year's Day, because I don't remember that.
We played OSU in a Rose Bowl? And we "loosed" to them? Even, granting the typo, if you intended to type "losed" to them, you're still hilariously Ralph Wiggums-esqe.
Me fail English! That's unpossible!
But, I guess I have no right to take issue with your non-sensical rant that talks about "kracka ass krackas" - you knew Andy Moeller. Case closed. I will "consul" you no further.
......is not much of a feather in your cap, given how, uh, poor he was as an OL coach.
You sound like a bitter wanna-be insider who is still pissed that the big ol bag of Lesticles is not on our sideline.......there are plenty of whispers about that thought in Section 14 where my seats are.
This season is going to get extremely uneasy and uncomfortable if we dont win games this year.
I am a huge supporter of RR.......but there's a strong pulse of discontent out there as evidenced by this forum post.
Joy? and your consensus governs what? Grow up puppy nuts... a true fan calls the cake by the cake. You frosting addicts have the nerve!
Lastly... I never attacked RR, I plainly stated why I feel we need to be eyes wide. Or do I need to spell it out for you too Behindstein.. here:
Not something I love broadcasting from the tree tops... it is mediocre at best and you know it. So spare me your remedial sideline fervor will you... you've impressed nothing but yourself [which apparently doesn't appear that hard to do]
Take away his first season when he went 3-8 and he has won 76% of his games. That would put him in the top 10 (and on the cusp of the top 5) of current active coaches.
through 2007, 5 years minimum:
COACH Years Win Loss Tied PCT
1. Pete Carroll, USC 7 76 14 0 .844
2. Urban Meyer, Florida 7 70 16 0 .824
3. Bob Stoops, Oklahoma 9 97 22 0 .815
4. Mark Richt, Georgia 7 72 19 0 .791
5. Philip Fulmer, Tennessee 16 147 45 0 .766
6. Bobby Bowden, Florida State 42 373 119 4 .756
7. Lloyd Carr, Michigan 13 122 40 0 .753
8. Joe Paterno, Penn State 42 372 125 3 .748
9. Steve Spurrier, South Carolina 18 163 56 2 .742
10. Jim Tressel, Ohio State 22 208 73 2 .739
Include the 3-8 season and he his win % is 69.8.
And you call 60-26 "mediocre at best." Anyone who would say this clearly doesn't have the first fucking clue about college football. You should just quit while you're ahead. You're fucking embarrassing yourself.
But, I can't resist.

u r the bomb
Chitown - you are the MGoBlog Po-Po. Funny stuff.
Don't forget the ridiculous link to some site that goes nowhere.... aka
Isn't there a global warming over sight hearing you should be? With all that misplaced angst I'd behard pressed to see otherwise...

Give it a rest really.. your disarticulated bullet pointed malaise may have been important, but only to you.

Claiming to be rich on the internet is beyond stupid.
I make 400,000 a year and sleep with Playmates every night. I am also a black, jewish, arab mix so I can make whatever racist joke I want. And I can shoot lasers from my dick.
It's so easy to lie.
Here's the thing: when you're rich and don't need to impress anybody, you tend not to use big words that you may or may not understand. You may think that you're using words correctly, but all anybody else is thinking is "Wow this guy is dumb".
I'd like to point out all of your errors, but its fun and educational to let you find your own. Just know you aren't fooling anybody.
It's not a Monday without some horse-shit inside opinion from someone who really wishes they knew shit.
You don't know shit.
There are so many things wrong with this post. Most of them have been covered by others, but this struck me: "I was about to enjoy a nice whipped cream topped Irish Cream & Espresso while lighting up a Gran Habano #1 Broadleaf corona, it doesn't get too much better than that for starting a Sunday."
What ND board did you just log off of? Are you trying to infuse your post with some form of credibility based upon your sunday morning rituals? This point makes you come off as some arrogant asshat wannabe. The rest of the post makes you come off as an uninformed, loud mouth who likes to read their own posts. That is an unappealing combination.
In future posts, if you make asertions, please be able to verify, preferably with a link. Take some time to consider your thoughts. And eliminate the pretentious theme and you will carry much more credence.
in school at all? do you know what literary prose is. The only people that have a problem with the post are those who never took the time to read, understand and reflect on what was said. What a flock of idiots here.... Don't ask me to verify what you cannot clearly understand. The article was about ESPN's calling Michigan out and nothing more.
Sometimes I'm afraid Brian may not appreciate me running off his traffic. But oh well. Honestly, I don't have a problem with people posting things I disagree with - I have a problem with people posting flat-out innuendo that makes no sense.
I think I'm going to attach a Matt Drudge-style siren to my posts.
Side note -- I don't believe that anyone can fault Carr's recruiting. Cbus highlighted the class rankings during his later years as HC. The issues lie with an inability to develop players. Those classes did not develop well, particularly on the OL. We are now suffering from a lack of depth at OL and LB.
The elimination of under-performing coaches, in particular Moeller and Gitt, will benefit the program, but it will take time. Carr's greatest shortcoming was his loyalty to a fault.
may agree with that in part. I adore Lloyd Carr, but he was entrenched. Just because I went to school with Andy [not saying you made that point] doesn't have one thing to do with this performance or my credibility. Folks intejected that stuff without considering what the post was about. I digress... But I said it myself, we do lack depth but there are sevral reasons why we do, and only one pertains to anything any one coach can influence, the rest is the BCS... it has changed the game, period.
This thread delivers.
I love it when people pretend to be rich on the internet, and then tell people who respond to their post to "get a life". If you made the original post, shouldn't you get a life, too?
Your processing fee is non-refundable.
True, who am I to question his 'MICHIGANISM' (his words, not mine).
It's just REALLY starting to aggravate me how so many people call themselves Michigan people and yet do, well, nothing except criticize, bad-mouth, and belittle the program! I'm pretty sure there's no one on this site who is more qualified to run the program than Rich and company (maybe gsimmons, but that's another story, hehe), so why can't we just wait until the bell goes off before we take the cake out of the oven?? I mean really, what good can come of this....?
So to Darn Wolverine, you're right, I had no right to call you out-- your love of Michigan is your business and who am I to question it. As it is to every one of us. Guess you just hit a nerve. I'm really getting tired of the so-called 'fan' profile that would rather tear us down than help build it up.
As for the rest of your performance here... well, you're on your own.
Listen... No one loves Michigan football the way I do, but I must strike the same respectful cord you just did. Why? Because that's still subjective... there is always another form of team expression that may be viewed as more devoted. That is why I didn't call anyone out on that... I love the way you young folks here just love your teams, and don't like people talkin smack about your colors... speaking of which. I am totoally cool with that - Do you know how Michigan got it's Maize and Blue color?
I respect your commentary here just now... but you know there is no true love without accountablility. If you love your colors they won't run when the chips are down. However, if they make mistakes.. do we ignore them, you're not a friend if you do. So, food for thought on that one lol!
Hail to the victors valiant!!
I can haz cookie?
That Darn Wolverine: First let me preface this by saying that I once had a class with Mike Hart, Jake Long, and Jamar Adams, therefore my opinion is fact.
Nobody is doubting you are a fan just like nobody is doubting that Billy Stewart loves West Virginia, but wow you fail. And that's great that you were almost on the team once, but I was almost a woman once when I was inside of my mommy before I grew my Maize and Blue wanker. Now it didn't work out, but damnit I know everything about them because of it.
Silence for you... is golden. You said absolutely nothing.
And you responded to my absolutely nothing with more of your condescending elitist tone.
A. Chill out champ. This is a message board.
B. Get off your high horse because right now you are reminding me of O'reilly.
C. Stop trying to insult everyone's intelligence and over write everything. If there's one thing people can't stand on the internet its elitist pricks who just insult and do not back up anything they say.
This is my column, I correspond in the manner I wish. I am well aware of the forum I am in - as to high horse because I depose stupidity... surely you jest. O' Reilly, you are funny... and that comparison is very telling. I am not insulting anyone... I respond to how I am responded too. You respond like an ass... you kicked in yours - pretty clear! This article was not a stat happy data dump... no one asked you to reply at all, if you don't like it... find another thread buddy, it's that simple.
I like Les Miles (if only because he's a Michigan man), but it seems like quite an about-face at this point to lament not getting him as our coach. From what I remember, while the vast majority of Michigan fans were expecting to get Les Miles, most of them thought he was either cut from the same cloth as Bo/Gary/Lloyd (and the saying was, "New Carr, Les Miles," of course) or just batshit crazy (which is pretty hard to dispute given his sideline and press conference demeanor). Besides, Les Miles' success has mostly come from his coordinators running the show.
Miles is a DAMN STRONG football coach, but DickRod was the better choice.
"Dick"Rod - SERIOUSLY? I don't understand why you would say that. You're not clever. You're not funny. More likely than not, the people of mgoblog think you're in the eighth grade. That is on par with stuff like"Mshitgan" and "scUM."
I love mgoblog because there is generally good discussion and people don't act like children, but the fact that you're posting on here means I'm entirely wrong. We're at risk of degenerating into a WVU message board if people like you keep this stuff up.
Please don't send me to my room.
Why shouldn't I refer to RR as "Dick"? "Dick" is a socially acceptable way to informally refer to someone named "Richard." You should probably try to be offended by stuff like the entire state of Ohio instead of something that might be a play on words that might distract someone from the three-hundred or so words surrounding it.
I hate to break it to you, but I'm not the first person on MGoBlog to refer to him as "Dick Rod," I probably won't be the last, and the fact that I've referred to him as such doesn't invalidate what I have to say. So, at least do yourself a favor and don't invoke what "the people of MGoBlog" think -- I'm sure you're probably the only member of the Secret Society of MGoBlog Members Against Using the Nickname "Dick" to Refer to Rich Rodriguez.
...Miles' national championship was more unlikely than Lloyd's was in '97. Really. Two losses, in the SEC, two or three wins by one touchdown or less.
A garbled rant full of nonsensical gibberish?
Don't make me shoot you with a flare gun.
What does this mean?
" there are traditions to adhere to that are mutually beneficial, and there are loosing traditions. We needed to sever ties with all loosing traditions and stick to what brings the glory back to the michigan name. "
I've read it like 6 times, and I can't figure it out.
Also, it's "losing", not "loosing". You've made that mistake more than 5 times.
that you should abandon practices that cause the chance of a loss to become greater and adopt those that cause the chance of a loss to become smaller.
you are having trouble finding context... I will accept all resposiblity for that. There are winning ideas and loosing ones, we need get with, and stick to one's that are productive. It didn't think that was too difficult, but like I said... my bad if you didn't get it, and there was a typo.
What. Are. You. Saying?
"Global Warming site"?
"We needed to sever ties with all loosing traditions and stick to what brings the glory back to the michigan name. "
So we need to get rid of the tradition of running zone left on the first play of every game?
But on a side note - are you serious, you can't be serious right - cuz if you are serious you must be that Tuesday's the name (or whatever it was) who went on and on about how blood orgies are not a Michigan value.
That Tuesday guy was the worst. I also think he was Ellipses Man. Go find his blood orgy thread and marvel at the similarity.
"So we need to get rid of the tradition of running zone left on the first play of every game? But on a side note - are you serious, you can't be serious right - cuz if you are serious you must be that Tuesday's the name (or whatever it was) who went on and on about how blood orgies are not a Michigan value. "
What the heck are you talking about? If you are trying to evoke the abstract to make the cogent... it works in the reverse - try being clear first.
That Darn Wolverine,
I'll back away from my assholeness to try to explain my problem:
You did, indeed, as you say, start out complaining about a comment made on ESPN. This, then, morphed into a series of comments about "socialist college football" (or something like that). I'm sure you had a point in writing that, but, to me, it was not clear - at all. I honestly don't understand what the meaning is. Judging by the responses not written by me, I'm not alone.
I'm not clever enough, or a good enough writer to use florid prose and oblique metaphors (like your "cake" point) to make my point - which I why I generally try to be extremely straight-forward when I write. Many here may think I'm a dick - but I think my point generally comes across. I'd contend that you share the same problem (not neccesarily the "dick" part, but the fact that your prose obscures your meaning). If you just wrote what you meant, it would be much, much clearer.
.......you want to complain and/or critique espn and the anonymous talking head who made the comment.......but then you veered off on a goofy BCS tangent, a much larger topic, and then coming back to the UM thing clearly had a "know-it-all" tone and a strong implication that the school hired wrong in this case.
You seem shocked that people would want to take you on because of that.....but, the reason people piled on hard was because A.) you called in facts that have been added to the record and proved false, and B.) you name dropped while implying it made you a better fan. If I did both A and B, I would be crushed by the same people who crushed you.
the name dropping thing will get you destroyed.....i think people got so sick and tired during the coaching search with everyone who claimed to be an insider and such and such that name dropping will get you a lot of mockery.
Keep posting, but work on your delivery.
Hurrah for the Yellow and Blue.
here, try this on for size. Poeple don't usually have a problem with so-called "critiques" when that is what they are. Some people made sound and clear points and where answered as such. Most have been baby dribble... people can;t respond to that. It's madness... now think on that.
would hate you. And your writing.
And can't stand to read a real American speaking truth to power.
more than this guy likes to hear himself talk
It's threads like these that make me wonder if I've somehow mistyped "http://www.mgoblog.com" and ended up at 4Chan.
but a weirdly safe for work version.
and to think this whole thing started because I pointed out that the OP is laughable for going on about how LM turned down the Michigan job. once again, to go back to what started this thread, he was not offered the job and as a result did not turn it down. that is all.
It is irrelevant that he was offered the job or not. Only that ESPN made a snub that was kinda off color. All else is just spurious lip dribble...
...he responded to almost EVERY single post!!!! And yet he tells ME to get a life?
It's a blog... and open forum, i.e. you're supposed to respond.
You just blew my mind, dude. You are like...Neo...or something. Blasting through the walls of ignorance around here. Tell me more. Tell me everything. Shower me with your wisdom! Shower me with your cock of knowledge! YES! YES! YES!
Juveniles with overactive imaginations and too much time on their hands just get off on yanking our chains... he's probably got the box of tissues next to him right now.
I'm as guilty as anyone here of letting him get to me, but I'm starting to think he's just going for the record of "most repliees to a thread" (got it by the way - helps he's posted about 2 dozen of them himself).
He's obvoiusly has no clue what he's talking about, we've all pointed that out profusely; however, you'll never convince his delusional mind. He pretends to a an elitist, "highly educated" guy who spews novel quality prose, yet repeatedly mis-spells the same basic words, and consistently makes worse grammatical and conjugational errors than my 9 year old. He likes to detail his high-brow spending, lavish life, business success, yet is so unsatisfied by it all that he's gone "slumming it" for the past 3 days on an internet blog. He claimed to be black at some point, but I just don't buy it. Even the most OREO'd friends I've got don't bounce back and forth between Walt Whitman and Chris Rock like this guy. Seriously, Irish coffee? Dude needs to turn in his "brother card" before Chris shows up and bitch-slaps him. He also says something about blogging with us "young guys", like he's a matured, wise beyond our years, experienced vet. Again, don't know too many of my elders who stop by and drop the "can the crap hommie" type lines in their old-age. Then there's this "almost red-shirted" thing. Personally, I think he's trying to pretend he almost "walked-on", but is so far removed from knowing what he's talking about it's coming out as more BS. Could he possibly mean he made the team, was going to be red-shirted, and said "no thanks"? Doubt it. He hasn't yet just been a man and said he mis-spoke about Miles on campus, despite having trashed the first guy to question it. All he will continue to do is pass off any critique like any juvenile would, with gibberish and the same quick slams that he's bitching about everyone else giving him.
My guess is he's: high-school to early college; no girlfriend (would have better things to do at least once in 3 days); probably a casual football/sports fan at best; was picked on early in childhood and now likes to jerk chains behind his monitor; white (although ethnic might be possible with the conjugation problems); has some money (at least for a computer, some starbucks, and more than likely Philly Blunts.
Oh, and by the way... I ain't hating on him, I'm just sayin'....
He's in his forties. Also, married (or maybe divorced by now.) But the rest of your assumptions are likely correct. The age thing makes it all more pitiful, IMO.
I would like to tell it like it is.
Knowing Any Moeller probably makes one less knowledgable about football.
that is all.
I lived next to BG and B Minor freshman year. I drank with them y juegued mucho video juegos with them. I are went to womens basketball game with them. I once tried to tackled Kevin Grady in HS football == much fail. I had my picture taken with Braylon Edwards and Mike Hart @ Studio 4. I helped Martavious Odoms find his class in EH a few weeks ago.
I are insiders now?????? Attain much football knowledge yes????
I was going to respond to this post, but then I realized that my dog just took a dump that's smarter than this guy. I figured my chances of getting an intelligent response were eleventy billion times better, so I spent the last five minutes talking to dog poo in the back yard. And yet at the end of that conversation I was left with exactly what we started with here: a big stinkling pile of shit.
And you "depose" stupidity? Really? You do?
A) Learn to spell.
B) Learn to form an argument.
C) Learn to use the correct words when talking about your lack of affection for stupidity.
D) YOUR LACK OF FAITH IN THE RODRIGUEZ HAS BEEN DULY NOTED. WHEN WE ARE TERRORIZING THE NATION AND HANGING 50 ON EVERYONE YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENJOY IT BECAUSE YOU WILL KNOW, IN YOUR HEART OF HEARTS, THAT YOU'RE A POSEUR WHO'D RATHER HAVE LES MILES AT THE HELM. WE WILL BE A FUCKING MACHINE. AND I WILL BE THERE TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO. EXPECT IT.
Reading that last part of your post makes me want to run down the hall of my office and jump to touch the ceiling a la the Banner.
You have more issues than Newsweek... I don't need a syntax lesson from bench troll. Go find another thread to spew on. You need to shut your mindless yap and respect opinions that may not be yours.
Alright. I've been following this thread the whole time, and I must
say, if Brian has some sort of award for thread of the year (TOTY),
this is my vote. I mean, this whole thing from start to finish is
gold. You have a totally moronic post followed up by comment after
comment bashing said moronic post. The moronic writer then feels the
need to defend said moronic post with even more moronic comments
leading to more bashing and more moronisicity (???? probably not a
word). Bravo MGO community. Bravo.
Also - Darn Wolverine, you are probably not real, but God I wish you were. +++++ Entertainer of the year.
Chrisgo- fwiw, I honestly think this guy's legit. Profoundly moronic and logically disconnected, but legit.
Ellipses Man or That Darn Wolverine.
I believe they may well be the same.
I think all big words he threw out are obfuscating what he means to say, no?
